"I didn't come here for a mate, I am only here to get my mate back so where is she."

"it's too late for that." The red-haired lady said with a glare and if I wasn't careful could spill my face into two.

"Emerald is gone, so now leave. "she said waving her hands at me in dismiss.

"What do you mean she's gone. "I asked her as I watch her drop the broom by the and cross her arms together.

"She's dead, dead, buried, or now don't you understand English, and it's all your fault. "she said, a plastered face smile on her face pointing her red long nails at me.

My eyes widened and my hands tremble from the possibility. But if a mate dies the other must go allow with them...if they were marked or mated.

"That's impossible, why would she die, what killed her, was she sick, I know you are lying, if she dies I will feel it deep down in my heart. "I said my breathing was rapid and shallow, I was this close to passing out.

It was impossible, Emerald couldn't be dead, she just can't be.

"You can't feel it when she rejected you. You both have lost connection. "she said as she massage her temples in frustration.

"She rejected me, but that doesn't mean I accepted the rejection. The bond is only broken when I accept it so tell the truth where my mate truly is"

This was a prank I was sure of it, she was probably testing to see if I would give up and walk away like the coward I knew I wasn't. She was lucky she was my betas mate or else I would have gripped her by the neck for faster answers.

I rolled my eyes and watch her take an elevator which I entered right after.

"So are you going to tell me anything or am I going to continue asking."

She was right I was surrounded since none of my pack warriors knew where I was. But I was prepared to die, to die trying to get my mate back at all course.

"Oh..my..my..my mate has a surprise. "she asked her eyes lighting up in happiness.

"Yes, he does a very big one that will change your life forever," I said making my lie more solid to sound more believable.

"That's a lie, Andrew is very bad at surprises, I don't believe you."

"I said with a half shrug and pretended like I was about to press the elevator button which would lead me downstairs.

Andrew was going to have his hands full with this one. If I thought my mate was stubborn then this red-haired devil was on a whole new level.

Apart from me felt bad for lying to her and knowing Andrew has no surprise in mind but a wolf got to do what a wolf got to do.

I could always get Andrew to throw a surprise party to ease my guilty conscience.

"Are you just going to stand there and stare into space or are you going to follow me?"

"Sorry. Right, this way. "I apologize.

she gave me a look of surprise as I said the word sorry which was very unfamiliar and left a bitter taste in my mouth but she said nothing in return and walked out of the elevator leading to a hallway.

She stopped walking got to a door and opened it.

I walked behind her and the wonderful scent of my mate which was a mixture of vanilla and chocolate hit my nostril, calming my wolf.

"This is my mate's room, right."

"Yeah, genius it is, so please have a seat, I’m going to tell you a story and I want no interruptions."

"What story. "I asked taking a seat on the soft bed. I had to hold myself from stiffing my mate's pillow-like a creepy.

"I said no interruptions and the story is the life history of your mate, she would have loved to tell you herself but you were busy fucking two women at once."

"How many times do I have to tell you that's didn't happen and it's all a misunderstanding,” I said in frustration practically dragging and pulling my hair out of my head.

"Yes, what happened to it, "I said, trying to figure out what it has to do with emerald. The sand up was almost finishing.

"Was their water in my mouth before I spoke?. "she said in amusement, I don't know what was funny to her right now.

"Yes she is cursed by the moon goddess and no one knows the cure. "she said through gritted teeth.

"Where is she ?."

"She went to look for the cure."

" But you said there's no cure so where will she find the cure if there's none."

"OK then I'm going to look for her, we are mates and her problem is mine also. She can't do it on her own"

"OK, I wish you good luck, here is the map you will need. "she said bringing out a map from the top drawer.

"Yes you do, and one more thing, I know there's no surprise from my mate so the only way I will forgive you for lying to me, is if you can save my best friend from dying. "she said looking at me, I gave her a soft smile and determination fueled my body.

" I will bring her back, even if I have to exchange my soul with the devil."
