Chapter 58: Chapter 58

Aires'POV

I stopped at the front of a boutique/salon and asked her to go in while I lean in my car to wait for her.

I had already made arrangements earlier for Daisy to be dressed up like a queen, today, I will announce my love for her to the world, she is the only woman I have ever loved and will be the only woman in my life, she is all mine, she would have been mine long ago but my stupidity had kept us apart and instead of loving her, I had bullied her and made her cry while believing a lie, but even then, in my heart, I loved her but right now, all I'll do is show her how much she means to me, I might not be good in display of emotions but I'll try.

I saw the door open and I turned to see her come out of the salon and for a moment, I forgot to breathe, she looked so breathtaking, she is no longer the lanky high school kid I used to know, she held my gaze as she slowly walked towards where I am standing,

"H...h...how do I look?" She asked, looking unsure and fidgety.

My voice was gone, so, I could not say anything, I could only stare, she snapped her fingers in front of my face and I blinked

"You're beautiful", I whispered and her cheeks colored

"Let's go or I'll be tempted to devour you right here"

Her eyes widened and her gaze searched around, probably to see if anyone heard me, she looked cute and shy and that's one of the things that I love about her, her innocence just keeps drawing me in.

We entered the venue I have booked for my party, I have made it an outdoor party so that I can stare at the new moon with Daisy.

I had invited just a few college friends, I didn't want a crowded party

"Aires", I turned around as I heard my name and saw Jasmine run towards me, "happy birthday to my baby brother" she whispered as she gave me a tight hug, I cringed, not like I do not like her hugs, of course, I do but it doesn't portray me to be a macho man, so I prefer that she keeps it until it's just the both of us

"Thanks, sis, and thanks for coming", she was through with her college and will be getting married soon to a doctor who is in charge of taking care of mum, it was on one of her visits to mum that they both met and fell in love, I am happy for her and more so because I can see how Dr. Bob adores her. Her phone suddenly beeped and she checked her message and immediately went pale,

"Are you alright? What is it?" I asked and she forced a smile but I know her all too well to notice that it was fake

"Bob just messaged me, I have to go"

"Why? Is it about mom? I'll come with you"

"No, no, today is your day, and remember that you planned to do something very important today, something that you should have done long ago, mum is still the same, I'll call you if there's any change", that said, she was gone before I could even say anything more

"What was she talking about? What other plans do you have for your birthday" Daisy asked, staring at me

"She meant that Aires had planned about this for years, he has planned something special for you", I heard Celine's voice before she came into view, I growled at her, "I didn't remember inviting you to my party, have you come to disrupt my plans again?"

"I am sorry about what I did years back, I was so filled with anger and bitterness against Daisy that I didn't think"

"What is she talking about?" Daisy asked, glancing from me to Daisy

"You'll soon understand when you get to know about his plans, meanwhile, I concede defeat already, he's all yours," she said, tears brimming in her eyes, she ran out of the party.

"How the hell did she know about my little birthday party?" I muttered, thinking aloud, is she also keeping tabs on me the same way I was keeping on Daisy?"

Slow music was going in and those who came with their dates were dancing with them, should I confess my feelings now? I suddenly feel so nervous and I could feel sweat on my forehead, I brought out my handkerchief and dabbed at it, "let's dance"

After the dance, I'll make my announcement

"B...but I don't know how to dance"

"I'll teach you" I replied, taking her hand and dragging her to the dance floor

"I ..I ..need to tell you something Aires and it's important ".

"We'll talk later" I replied, I won't let her tell me anything until I have told the world about my feelings for her.

Waltz's tune soon filled the air and I placed my hand on her waist and drew her close to me as we move in unison to the dance.

"I need to go to the ladies' room" she murmured when the song ended and walked off before I could say anything.

"Shall we?" Celine asked as soon as another music filled the air, "oh, come on, do not give me that look, let's just say that this is a goodbye dance because I'm leaving for the states.

[Author's POV]

Daisy took a deep breath as she splashed little water on her face, her heart was breathing frantically, she guess it was as a result of being in close proximity to Aires.

Towards the end of their dance, she had felt nauseous, hence she quickly ran to the ladies' room, she has not gotten the chance to tell Aires about her pregnancy but she would have to do it sooner or later, she must tell him this night, perhaps, after his birthday party, she took her handkerchief from her bag and dabbed her face, she watched with satisfaction as color returned back to her face.

She stepped out of the ladies' room and yelped but it was muffled as a hand suddenly closed her mouth, she kicked against whoever it was as she was dragged further from the sound of the music being played at the party.

"Stay still, I'm not going to hurt you", a voice whispered into her ears, she frowned at the familiar voice, and slowly, the hand left her mouth and she turned and came face to face with stormy grey eyes.

"You? What are you doing here? Are you following me?" She queried, she should be screaming down the building but for some reason she didn't, there was something about this man with the stormy grey eyes

"Screaming won't do you good anyways?" He murmured

"Are you reading my mind? Who are you?"

"I am Dylan Sabastine, nice meeting you" he brought out his hand for a handshake and Daisy just stared at his hand but made no attempt to receive it.

"What do you want?"

"Your friend, is that the 'just a friend" of yours that you mentioned some time ago?"

"Do you mean Aires?"

"So, Aires is his name" Dylan muttered and Daisy narrowed her eyes at him

"Why are you suddenly interested in him?"

"The both of you seem so in love, he must have even introduced you to his parents, are they his biological parents?"

Daisy's eyes widened and a strange premonition swept through her, "why are you asking about his parents, do you know his real parents? Hold on, come to think of it, his eyes are exactly like yours"

"That's because I am his real father"

"How cruel" she muttered

"Why do you say that?"

"How cruel that you abandoned him at such a young age, do you know what he had to go through? Why do you suddenly show up in his life?"

"What if I tell you that I never abandoned him, fate separated us, and I have been looking for him all these years..."

"Daisy, there you are, Aires has been looking for you, let's go, he is waiting," Brittany said as she dragged her along.

Aires was standing on the stage and immediately beckoned for her to join him when he sighted her

"Today, I am going to make an important announcement, I wished to introduce someone very special to you all..."

Daisy wondered what this was all about, is he trying to introduce the love of his life to her? Her heart suddenly hurt at just the thought of it, no, Aires would not do such, she is pregnant for him damn it, maybe, she should tell him about the pregnancy first.

She heaved as she stared at the moon that was coming high in the cloud, she wished her life is as bright as the moon

"...she is the only woman that can cause me a sleepless night as the thoughts of her always cloud my senses, I might not be good with words, but..."

I frowned as I stared at him, he was panting and sweating profusely, "are you okay?" Daisy whispered and he smiled but it looked pained, the moon was shining so brightly on him that she do not need further light to see that he was not okay

"D...D... Daisy, I...I...L...Lo... aarrgh", he suddenly screamed, holding his head, there were murmurs as people wondered what was going on.

"Aires, what's wrong?" Daisy cried, alarmed at the sudden ferocity in his gaze.

She held his hand and her eyes widened in shock when she felt something pierce her hand, looking down, she was speechless to see claws instead of fingers,

"I'll take him, move away from him", she gaze up as Dylan came into view, "who the hell are you? Who is Aires?"

There was confusion all over as people gathered to see what was going on.

"See who the cat finally dragged in, I have waited years for this moment" Mr. Dawson suddenly came into view, he was holding a gun, and it was pointed towards Aires,

"Dad, what are you doing?" Daisy asked, walking towards him

"Stay out of this, you do not even know who he is, your boyfriend is not human" he spat and her head reeled, what is he talking about?

"I have got father and son before me and today, my revenge will be completed"

"Arrrghhh, Aires cried out in pain as his back muscles contracted, he is in so much pain and her father wants to kill him? No, she won't let him do anything to Aires,

"I won't let you kill Aires, I won't " she vowed to her father, thinking frantically of what to do

"You can't stop me," he said just as the first shot rang out.

"No!!!" Daisy screamed, and there were more screams as the audience scampered away, when she turned, instead of seeing Aires on the floor, she saw his real father instead, he had taken the bullet meant for Aires

"You're so cruel, you're such a monster" Daisy cried and she was grabbed suddenly, with a gun pointed to her head, "how can you point a gun at your own daughter?"

Aires suddenly screamed a very loud shrill filled with pain as he snapped and right before her eyes, he turned into a wolf and howled,

"That's a very good boy, now, take away his heart with your paws and I'll let your girlfriend go", her dad ordered and tears filled her eyes, Aires may not be human but he's more human than her dad, her dad is simply a monster, the wolf's molten colored eyes stared at them, that explains the unusual color of his eyes, "do it or I'll kill her, if she dies, she won't die alone, she'll die with your unborn child"

How the hell did he know that she was pregnant, the wolf gave another howl as his gaze snapped from him to Daisy, slowly, he walked towards the still body on the floor,

"No Aires, do not give in to his demand, he wants to turn you into a monster like he is" her father nudged her with the gun and she whimpered, she could die but she won't let Aires kill the father he has always longed for, "Aires, don't, that man just took a bullet for you because he is your real father".

"Shut up!!!" Dawson raged

"That's the father that you have always longed for, he is your biological father".
