Chapter 433: Chapter 433
"Is this the person you talked about?" Prince Simon demanded, his very tone showing his displeasure at the sight that greeted him.
He was back in his chambers and wanted to relax and destress at the same time. In as much as Simon was getting unhinged with each passing moment, he had thought that this was what he needed.
Thinking back to the meeting he had just completed with the council members, he felt an annoying headache start to form at the base of his neck.
As a royal, Simon had obviously heard of that bond that the bookkeeper had referred to, but he was not about to accept such absurd reasonings from a madman.
A few moments earlier...
Simon felt the blood drain from his face as exclamation cries went around the room.
"That changes everything...."
"What do you mean that it changes everything? In all your ninety-plus years, have you ever heard of anyone doing this? Wasn’t that just a myth passed down through the generations?"
At that, nods went around again, as if they all could not accept this either, but there were a few who grew extremely thoughtful.
Every Fae had heard of the bond that forms from the blood oath. It was one that they all wanted to experience, but since no one had been able to perform it, nor they even knew how to, it had been dismissed over the generations as a myth.
That was until the bookkeeper mentioned it.
When the ’myth’ was pointed out, Prince Simon breathed a sigh of relief. Royals knew more about this oath process than normal Faes, and he therefore understood the implications of this more than any of them. Like the others, he also believed it to be a myth.
"Is the record-keeping getting to you? Should we relieve you from your duties so that you can take a rest?" Prince Simon shot back as his anger rose to unbelievable levels.
Murray tried to make himself as little as possible, but one could see that he was still trying his best to shield Shelby. He was without his power, and that made him vulnerable. A vulnerable shadow was useless. Murray also knew that he risked getting his mistress into more trouble if she instinctively tried to protect him, which Murray had no doubt that she would never hesitate to.
He could not help but take a second look at Brian from the corner of his eyes, as did Shelby.
"You dare try to use lies to break me away from my Queen?!" Prince Simon went on and then commanded, "LOCK UP THIS USELESS BOOKKEEPER WITH THEM!"
Brain sighed as he was roughly accosted out of the room with the two prisoners. Obviously, the guards still handled Shelby like a delicate porcelain, but the males.... Not so much.
Afterwards, Prince Simon stormed out of the room.
"Yes, My Prince...." A voice interrupted Simon’s thought of the earlier events, and he turned to the man who was bowed so low that he could have been licking his boots.
"This is the best dancer we have here. She won the just-ended dance contest. As you can see, her beauty is unmatched and..."
"Pfttt!" Simon burst out laughing as his mind’s eye travelled to his soon-to-be-queen. Just that thought alone turned Simon on, and his breeches started to feel a little too tight for him.
Simon could not stop laughing at the remark, making the man awkward,
"Please go on," Prince Simon encouraged, while holding one hand over his mouth, as if he had heard the world’s greatest joke.
Prince Simon needed some sort of distraction and that was why he had asked for this form on entertainment.
’I didn’t even ask of her name....’ Prince Simon sighed, as his thoughts travelled back to Shelby. He bit and licked his lip, his eyes mentally undressing Shelby in his mind.
’Patience, Simon. She will be rightfully yours. Names can always be given, and she needs to settle in, so let’s find a name that will be benefitting for such a goddess.’
At that thought, the bond flashed in his mind. There was something nagging Prince Simon and he was unsure of what that was.
Brushing that away, he muttered, "I will fuck her so hard that she will be bonded with me, forever!" Prince Simon nodded, pleased with himself,
Even though he had murmured to himself, his voice had still travelled far, and the girl who had been ladled as the most beautiful and the best dancer blushed deeply. It was widely known that Prince Simon was to be the next king, and most females wanted to do anything to occupy the seat next to him even if they would become one of many.
The ’beautiful’ Fae girl, with the veil that obscured half of her face, stepped forward. She was barefoot but had multiple anklets on her ankles and beads on her waist that jingled together to create a light melody when she walked.
The half-obscured face gave her a mysterious aura. Her eyes were bright, long eyelashes with perfect mascara, giving her a charming and truely captivating look.
The men in the room could not help but look at this beautiful dancer.
A couple of the old Faes, who had been there when the human prisoner had been brought in, could not help but think this person rather bland. They, more than anyone else, had understood Prince Simon’s laughter.
However, they kept their thoughts to themselves. Simon sometimes threw mini celebrations for his sole amusement, but on this day, he wanted to with a few of his connections, who shared in his crazy habits. These were habits not known to many, and this female was about to find out.
For the beauty, it was rare that she was in the open as she had been told that she was supposed to be for their future king’s sole entertainment! However, she did not despair.
Two other women joined, but they were more than just wallpapers for her.
Light mists flowed, adding their mystery as she started to jiggle her waist lightly. Spinning on her tiptoes, she spun and jumped around, deliberately revealing bits of her pale skin with each turn. The other floated around her, accepting the fact that they were there to highlight her performance. Their wings opened up at the same time, and they flew in dazzling circles around her. It was just enough to whet the appetite of their audience.
The audience was really mesmerized: snow-light arms, pale legs, curvy waist. It was just too much from their view but it wasn’t enough for Simon. He was past the point of teasing, and Prince Simon took what he wanted.
The feathery long dress moved and swung with each swing as if it was teasing the dancer, but rather, it was the audience that was hooked.
Gasps of admiration sprung out.
Prince Simon was bored, though. To him, she just looked like wet chicken, begging to be pecked.
A few peeked at Prince Simon, checking if he was really okay with their unabashed gaze on his exclusive dancer
The two flying around the main dancer disappeared with a poof! It was as if they were never there.
The main dancer dropped to her knees, shaking and wondering what she had done wrong.
"I can do better, My Prince!"
"... as you should. Now discard all that annoying clothing and dance properly!"
The young female Fae froze, and she raised a teary eye to glance around the room. Her meaning was simple and clear. She would do anything the Prince asked but dancing naked in front of an audience was something else, after all, she was aiming ot become Prince Simon’s woman.
"What? You don’t want to?"
"No... no, My Prince.... I-"
Prince Simon nodded, and the room settled into a hush anticipation. The petite Fae bit her lips and then, closing her eyes, started to move sensually while shedding her clothes one after the other. She had thought that Prince Simon would stop her mid-way but Simon just looked on till she removed every single piece of clothing she wore.
"She’s yours! As promised!"
Her eyes snapped open to see Prince Simon already stepping into his inner quarters while a man standing close to her smiled and grabbed her hand,
"Thank you, my Prince!"
She gasped but also knew this was a normal occurrence in their culture. She had aimed the highest and had been dropped.
’I failed! How can I face myself?’
She sighed, swallowed her grievances and accepted her fate.
Shelby looked around with wide eyes, swallowing every single feature of the castle as they walked through. The walls were cold, but even in minimal clothing, she was not shivering. The necklace she wore spread some warmth through her periodically, making sure that her temperature did not dip.
They walked a long time before one guard said from her back,
"Parden me, ma’am...."
Shelby still did not understand why they were being so cautious and humble in front of her as opposed to when they had first met.
Shelby stopped and turned only to see the Fae, who had spoken, touch her back slightly. When she checked her surroundings again, she was in a dungeon somewhere.
The guard bowed and then disappeared again. That was when she understood. The cell she had been placed in had no doors, and the guard had teleported her there. Shelby’s mind was filled with many things, including how she was going to get away from there, but the main thing centered around getting away from that lunatic Prince.
’At least I will be safe and away from his lustful eyes while here.’ She consoled herself.
Shelby shivered lightly, just as another burst of warmth crept through her.
However, when she turned to look around, she froze, and her eyes constricted as what she saw.
