Chapter 317: Chapter 317
A sense of déjà vu washed over Brianna when her eyes landed on Ian, seated calmly with his legs crossed with an almost lazy look and then on Currey, who stood straight by the wall on one side in the private meeting room.
She shivered, wondering why she was having such a physical reaction to a mere dream, but shook her head, dismissing the thought and reassuring herself that all was just a dream and nothing else.
Her mind was a mess. She was unsure if she had come in earlier and left for the bathroom. Everything was too vague and foggy for her. This was so unlike her! To add to it, she was getting unbearably hot, to the point that she wanted to take off that skimpy outfit that she had on.
Sweat trickled down her back, making the dress stick to her body. She fanned herself with her hand and then glanced at the numbers on the air conditioner. It was low enough to even warrant a jacket, so it didn’t make sense that she was feeling this hot.
A light tremor swooped through her, and her eyes fleet over Ian, finding him sexier than ever. At the same time, the image of his cold eyes from the cliff overlapped with the sexy one. She shook visibly.
’It was just a dream, Brianna. Get a hang of yourself!’
She had no clue that she had actually come face to face with death and made it back alive. Brianna successfully disengaged herself from that dream and the foreboding feeling, forcing herself to focus on how moist she was feeling in between her legs.
She had always fantasized about Ian, but not to this physical level in his presence. This made her wonder what was happening to her, but that did not mean that she did not like it. Her prey was in easy grasp. She just had to get that assistant out, and Ian would make the move, or even she could. Brianna did not mind going for what she wanted.
"Eh, thanks for waiting, Mr Thornston", Brianna said with a sweet smile.
She hadn’t even noticed that she had changed the familiar "Ian" to "Mr. Thornston." The power of the subconscious mind was real and had a more excellent hold on our awareness than most people realized.
Ian glanced casually at her with no other movements whatsoever, making Brianna feel awkward. She had expected a ’hello’ or even a smile but nothing?
Currey approached from the side and then,
"Would you like anything to drink?"
Brianna turned to Currey and flinched. With how Currey bowed and maintained his stance, she was being served like a high-class person, but Brianna’s heart just raced in fear instead. Despite this, she was flattered and tried her best to hide the unfounded terror, pinching herself so hard, but even that failed as her hands felt weak from all those emotions bubbling and trying to find their place in her person.
’Get a hang of yourself, Brianna!’
She took a tentative step back but saw Ian reach for his wine glass.
Brianna ignored Currey and hurried to Ian instead. She went on her knees in front of his table,
"I see that your glass is empty, Mr Thornston; let me help you refill it."
Without waiting for a response, she reached for the decanter and Ian’s glass. She expertly poured the wine into Ian’s glass, then she lightly tapped her finer at the edge of the glass.
Brianna was quite satisfied with herself as she returned the glass to Ian.
Ian accepted it but did not take a sip. Brianna’s every move was as transparent as could be to him. She had seen the light powdery substance fall from a small jewel of Brianna’s nail into the drink. The girl never learnt.
Brianna missed Ian’s smirk as she turned to Currey,
"Sorry, do you mind stepping out for a bit? I’d like to have a conversation with Mr Thornston."
"Just treat him as part of the wall décor..." Ian interjected.
Brianna bit her lips, wondering how she could go about seducing Ian with someone else in the room. At that time, her mind was getting mushy from all the hotness and flush she was feeling. She pushed her dress up to let air circulate around her.
She so wished that she could take off everything, but Brianna still had some consciousness and bit her lips so hard that it drew blood. She knew something was off but could not pinpoint what. This was the effect of a potent aphrodisiac, but she had not taken any... at least not yet.
If her plan went through and Ian was under the drug’s influence, she had planned to take a bit to get that prologued feeling too, so Brianna could not explain what was happening.
Ian watched her for a while, and after confirming that the drugs have started to take effect, he asked,
"That did not take long. You already started feeling hot?"
"W-hat do you m-ean?"
"I had my suspicions, but your gestures confirmed everything."
Ian said instead of replying. Brianna was confused.
"The earrings. Those are the ones you gifted my wife. They are pretty though. It suits your ears very much"
Brianna frowned, "Gifted your wife?"
It took a few seconds for Brianna to piece the information together. Ian had never given her any gift; he had just sent back the same earrings she had gifted Shelby to make a fool of herself. How did that happen?
She knew very well what the effects of the drugs on the earrings would do when they came into contact with the skin.
Terror and heat.... Not exactly the best of combinations for anyone. Brianna’s heart hammered in her chest, understanding the implications. She snapped her head to Ian and flinched, falling on her bum.
That look. It was the same ruthless look from that dream. Her survival instincts kicked in. Her mind emptied and only one thing remained: she needed to get out of there quickly. Her stomach churned at Ian’s following words,
"Who said you could lay a hand on my Elfin and go scot-free?"
Brianna scrambled back towards the door but froze upon Currey’s words,
"Should we throw her to the hounds, Your Highness?"
"H-ounds? You c-an’t m-ean that...."
Brianna was shaking so intensely that her teeth were chattering. Something was wrong... very wrong! Subconsciously, she had not even asked what that meant as they were indoors, and there were no animals there.
She closed her eyes tightly, wishing it were a dream, but her heart sank before she even opened them. The cool air. They were outside! Again!
Wait, why did she think again? She asked herself.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! That wa-s not- a dream?!"
"Why would we visit your dream?" Currey’s cold and indifferent voice made her snap her head to the side, pushing herself back, not even minding the cold dampness of earth and fallen leaves.
Just beside Currey were two ferocious-looking dogs... more like wolves, snapping their teeth towards her with thick saliva dripping. An invisible wall seemed to be holding them back but it seemed like they were about to break free and eat her up.
Brianna screamed, tears ran down her face, and her heart threatened to jump out of her chest!
"Maaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Hellllppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Currey laughed, making her skin tingle and creep.
"I think not! Her meat will be foul for them. Besides, that punishment will be too swift. Death is too good for her. She needs to live through whatever is coming!" Ian’s voice echoed all around them, and they were back in the private room. It was as if it had never happened, but her bottom was still slightly damp, and there were one or two dried, wet leaves.
"Yes, Your Highness!" Currey bowed and stepped back.
"Ahhhhh!!!!!" She continued to scream, not even getting a grip of reality.
"I- I’m sorry! I- I- will apologize to Shelby! Please! Let me go! I- I – I’ll even kiss her feet!" She kept rambling incoherently while pushing her dress down from her shoulders. Her words and her actions did not match.
She begged like crazy, but with the sexual drugs, one would wonder if she was begging for forgiveness for sex.
Ian looked on calmly, "Why would you want to dirty my Elfin’s feet with your soiled mouth? You do not deserve that opportunity...."
For a moment, Brianna was confused and then,
Ian smiled. A cold, calculating smile. "Good. We’re finally on the same page!
Now, what did you say you wanted to do to my Elfin?"
Brianna scrambled back until her back hit the door. Everything was wrong. That was not how it was supposed to go! She was supposed to be with Ian, but this was not the Ian that she had fallen for! This was clearly a stranger! A cruel demon!
Currey smiled; "the perfect person for the job had been selected already."
"Since she wants to sleep with someone so bad as to drug my wine...."
"How did I know? Haha... A child like you think that she can hide anything from me?"
Then he turned to Currey, "....fulfil her wish first!"
Currey bowed to receive the request, picked up the glass of wine, pinched Brianna’s nose, and chunked it down her throat. She did not even have a second to resist before the cool liquid slid down her throat, along with the dread of her backfired plan.
She coughed loudly and inserted her fingers into her throat to try and get the wine out, but nothing worked. She was so frantic and continued to try to get the wine out, but it was a futile effort. Her stomach crumpled with the dread for she understood in that moment that Ian would never be hers.
Her eyes clouded with a lot of complex emotions.
Call that double jeopardy or triple. Whatever the case, Brianna was fucked, big time. With her mind struggling to hang onto what was real and what was not, she also had a contact aphrodisiac and an ingested one.
She did not want to find out the dire consequences of that but Brianna did not have time. Also, because of Ian’s size, the one she had put in his drink was strong, so she knew very much what was to come.
When she thought all was done, two different occurrences happened that evening that made Briana regret her actions that had led to that moment, but at that time, it was too late, and there was no going back.
