CHAPTER 19

Life became unbearable for me in my own father’s house, and for weeks I didn’t see Alex neither did we talk on phone, thanks to dad for shattering my phone.

A MONTH LATER

"Andra open up" I heard mum scream from my door.

Wondering why? Well I'll explain.

So last night, we were all having dinner, well not really, everyone else was eating except me.

"Andra why aren't you eating" mum asked.

"I don't really like the smell of the food" I replied nonchallantly, they all diverted their attention to me, I wondered why, I mean aren't they noticing the awful smell of the food, it smells like a vegetable sauce a pidgin just threw up, mixed with rotten raw eggs, blended with soured liquid spaghetti. Isn't anyone else noticing it.

"What did you say" dad asked me with red eyes, he has been ignoring me ever since Alex issue, he only yells at me when I do something wrong or perhaps when he thinks that I've done something wrong.

He grounded me but yet seeing me at home irritated him, I've been enduring it for long now even when this whole thing is not my fault, also for God's sake people, I lost my virginity without even knowing and this is how they will treat me, like a slot. I'm not having it today, his wife cooked a God forsaken meal and I'm not gonna keep quiet about it.

"Why are you all staring at me like that, I've only said nothing but the truth, this food smells aweful" I barked and pushed it towards mum.

"Andra what the hell is wrong with you" Lola asked. "I thought vegetable chicken and sweet rice is one of your favorite food"

"Well not this one" I fired.

"Jeez girl, did you wake up from the wrong side of the bed" Jenny asked in awe.

"Did you just ask me that, bitch if you ask me that again I'll do deal with you right now" I barked at her.

"Young lady, one more word from you, I'll send you out of this table" dad threatened and I scoffed.

"Like I wanna stay" I fired back.

"You should be ashamed of yourself Andrea" Titi stated.

"Well I'm not, and I'll never be, cause deep down your hearts, you all know that I'm better than everyone in this table" I yelled and hit my fist on the table.

"I wonder who was found naked in a hotel room with a boy" Lola scoffed.

"Bitch what" I asked her, for some reason I was super ready for a fight that night.

"Andra what has gotten into you this night" Jenny blasted and I threw a fork at her but I missed. Damn.

"That's it Andra, get out of here" dad hit his fist on the table and pointed upstairs, but I stared at him without moving. "I said get out" he yelled.

"Jeez, you all have a serious problem" I stated and stood up, I saw tears in my mum's eyes. It felt like she was kinda scanning me or something, her eyes pierced through my soul but I shook it off and walked out.

So that's what happened, she's probably knocking at my door to aske me why I acted like that last night, I don't even know why, the food didn't smell good, yea but why do I really have to over react about it. But why is she waking me up so early for that.

I dragged my self up and slipped up my slip ons, planning on how I'll cross over to the door. I gotta stop waking up late, school is resuming next week, yesterday I woke up by 10:30, but that's because I was weak. But two days ago I also woke up by 10:15. But only because I felt dizzy.

Wait a minute. I've been sick for the past one week, woaw, i need to see a doctor.

The knock came harder this time, followed by mum's voice, calling out my name.

I finally dragged myself to the door, I opened it and turned back immediately to continue my beauty sleep, but mum stopped me.

"Your father is still angry with you" she informed me.

"I don't need to be told" I replied.

"You didn't come down for breakfast" she asked.

"I'm just waking up, sorry"

I walked to my bed and slumped on it, dropping my face on my pillow.

"Andra are you ok" mum asked in the most concerned voice I've ever heard.

I turned to her and caught her staring at my tummy. "Of course I'm fine, why?"

"What's with the behavior last night" she asked and sat beside me.

"Mum I'm sorry OK, I didn't know what came ov....." I stood up immediately when I noticed my stomach rumbling. It felt like I was gonna throw up any moment, I held my stomach and my lips.

"You should go to the bathroom" mum advised.

"Hmm"I mumbled and ran to the bathroom, I barely reached the sink before throwing all my guts out.

I felt a han patting my back, mum.

She flipped on the faucet and I washed my face and she helped me up.

"Let's go" she helped me back into my room.

"I think I'm sick" I told her.

"I know" she replied without any atom of surprise.

"How did you know" I asked her as soon we sat down on my bed.

"Your ill behavior last night gave you out, the food didn't smell bad, its you" she stated and I twisted my brows at her.

"How is it me, are you saying that i now have bad nose"

"Its called hormones Andra" she replied and I had to laugh my heart out.

"What hormones, pregnancy hormones or what? Hahaha mum" I laughed out but she stared at me instead. And that's when it dawned on me, my whole life flashed in my face for a second, all these past days I've been noticing the symptoms but I just keep waving it off, the darker nips, the fuller breast thats hurts so much each time I feel them. The swollen body, the yelling which I can now call naggings.

"No, no no no, mum, no" I screamed out. "This is not happening, it can't be"

"Andra calm down, I understand how you feel, but just try to calm down, let's not make your dad know about this"

"Mum stop, I can't be pregnant, it can't be, wait, wait.. My period is starting tomorrow, this may just be a misunderstanding, please" I pleaded in tears.

"Andra you already know the truth" I buried my face in my hands, this can't be happening to me, what have I done wrong.

Mum stood up and turned to leave but instead "o sh*t" escaped her mouth, I turned.

Dad. He was standing by the door.

"Get up, now" he yelled out his lungs and I sprang up.

I saw my sisters ran into the room.

"Honey I thought you've left already, did you forget something" mum asked with a nervous smile.

"Hospital now" he fired at me, ignoring my mum's question.

"Le..let me pu...t on a dress" i stammered as I shook in fear.

He walked like a heart beat towards me.

"When you were with that boy in that hotel room, you never though about wearing a good dress, when you were whoring around with him, you never thought about dress, but now you wanna wear a dress, young lady just pray that this is not what it looks like, because if it is, prepare to leave my house" he yelled as he dragged me to the door.

"What is going on" Lola asked, like she cared.

Dad ignored her as he dragged me out and I'm pretty sure that mum didn't reply either. Gush I can't believe he's doing this to me, how can I go out in a sleeveless and extremely short night dress.

Hospital

"Hey we want to go for a pregnancy test" dad screamed at the nurse at the reception.

"Ok sir.." The nurse answered and irked her brows. "Pls take a card" she said and pointed to the card boot, my dad angrily picked a card, almost tearing it.

"How long do we have to wait" he fired at the nurse.

"You really need to calm your voice sir, this is a hospital" the nurse adviced but my dad fumed with anger and the nurse didn't need to be told to comply. "5 minutes sir." She answered.

We turned to walk to the waiting room and damn, there they stood smiling down at me. Fiona and Jade.

"OMG did he say 'pregnancy test'" Fiona asked.

"I thought I didn't hear correctly" Jade replied.

"Oh my gush Andra, are you really pregnant" Fiona asked.

"She's crying, so she's totally pregnant, like OMG" Jade replied, that's when I noticed the tears, why isn't my dad yelling at them, I turned beside me and realized he was talking to the scared looking nurse.

The two Jezebels smirked evilly at me and that's when I realized that school would get worst for me.

What school? My school life is officially over as long as this pregnancy and my dad are concerned.

"Let's go" dad brought me back from the nightmare as he dragged me towards the waiting room, I heard them giggling behind.

Few minutes later dad and I were called to meet the doctor, after the test the doctor asked us to wait for about 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, we were called back to the office, the doctors handed my dad the results, he opened it as my heart continued pounding dangerously.

He read it and his face changed from angry to emotionless, I snatched the paper from him, I looked at it and my head pinned around and then exploded when I saw the pregnancy box ticked.

"Thank you doctor" my dad said in a defeated quiet voice, I turned to him and saw a tear fall from his eyes.

I didn't know what to say or how to explain all this.

"Dad......"

"Let's go" he caught me off, fresh hot tears slipped down my cheeks. I hate it when he says that. It scares me to the bones.

He dragged me up and dragged me to the car, what is he gonna do.

He brought the engine to life and drove off, taking another route.

"Dad where are we going" I sniffed out but he ignored me.

He continued driving until he got to the estate that looked so familiar.

"Dad, where are we going" I yelled in tears when I realized we were heading to Alex's house. I got scared. "Dad please stop" I pleaded. I can't stand to face Alex right now not to talk of his family. But Mr. Man won't hear of it. How did he even know their house.

He drove into the large driveway of the Hathaways. I saw Alex's brothers playing Basketball. Dad got out of the car, he came to my side and dragged me out.

"You can't bring misfortune to my house Andra, if you stay at my house, this will spread to your sisters, and I can't have you give birth to this disgraceful bastard in my house". He stated and dragged me towards the door.

"So now she's pregnant, y'all remembered Alex yea?" Jake fired at us.

Fiona and Jade has done a good job, bitches from the seven seas.

My dad ignored them and neither did I spare them a glance as he dragged me inside.

Alex's mum was watching a show in the TV room when we got in, and I spotted his dad taking out a can of beer from the fridge.

"Where's that bastard you called a son huh?" Dad fired at them.

"And what are you doing in my house with this slot after the disgrace you brought to my family" Mrs. Hathaway fired back.

"Disgrace? Woman don't piss me off and bring your son right here"

We all turned to the step when we heard two footsteps. Alex was coming down stairs with miss asia holding his left hand, when he saw me he froze.

"Andra....." He called out quietly, he slipped his hand from the girl and ran to me. "Are you OK, I mean I saw the post on WhatsApp, how are you" he asked in concern to my surprise, I was actually expecting him to flare up.

"Well congratulations, you just got married" my dad barked at him and pushed me and I fell into his arms. "I'll send your sisters to get your things" he added and walked out. I felt lonely.

His mother and miss asia were glaring at me, his father's face was emotionless, I noticed that his brothers were already in the room, but I didn't look at them, Alex was rather looking confused as he stared at me.

I should get out of here, even if I stay in the park, I'll feel more comfortable there than this house.

Without a second thought I took off.

"Andra, please wait..." I heard Alex scream behind me as he followed me.

My life is ruined.
