Agreeing to Create Bad Games, What the Hell Is ‘Titanfall’? Chapter 18
Shen Miaomiao: ???
“Wait a second!!! No way!!! Huh?! What the hell just happened?”
“Why is he playing it again?!”
She had stalked that stream the whole night yesterday—A-Yin shouldn’t have known about this game at all!
So how did he suddenly stumble upon it today?
In that moment, Shen Miaomiao’s internal alarm blared like crazy.
“No f**king way, no way!”
“There’s no way he’s streaming our game, right?”
...Yeah, like h*ll he’s not.
With that thought, Shen Miaomiao couldn’t sit still any longer.
“Um… ahem, let’s wrap the meeting up here for today. Meeting adjourned!”
And with that, she jumped up and dashed out of the conference room like a thief sneaking off with a stolen dog.
Leaving behind a stunned Chu Qingzhou and the three bros exchanging blank stares.
“Uh, what the...?”
Even Gu Sheng had never seen anything like this before. He turned to Chu Qingzhou with a questioning look.
“Secretary Chu, should we...?”
“Let’s… adjourn, I guess…” Chu Qingzhou shrugged.
She had no idea what kind of episode that little boss lady was having now, so all she could do was helplessly announce the end of the meeting.
Everyone left in the meeting room looked confused—and honestly, a little amused.
They had no clue that at this moment, Shen Miaomiao was this close to having a full-blown anxiety attack!
“Please don’t be our game…”
“Please don’t be our game…”
“Dear gods above, I’d trade Gu Sheng’s lifelong bachelorhood for this game to flop…”
On her way back to the President’s Office, Shen Miaomiao muttered under her breath like she was clinging to her final thread of hope.
Until she reached the office… and opened the stream!
Only then did she completely lose it.
Well, sh*t.
So much for Gu Sheng staying single for life.
Because right there on A-Yin’s stream was the absurd little game designed by Gu Sheng himself!
The stream came on just in time to show A-Yin adjusting his camera, grinning at the viewers:
“Hey hey hey, we’re live! Thanks for all the glow sticks, keep those fan tags renewed, y’all!”
“Trying out a new game today—it’s from the same company that made Cat Mario.”
“I saw a clip from Bro Qie’s stream on Douyin last night, thought it looked fun, so I called Tree over to try it with me…”
Naturally, A-Yin’s words set the bullet comments ablaze—
‘LOL even our boss saw Bro Qie’s video!’
‘That clip’s already got over 100k likes!’
‘Not gonna lie, the entertainment value was off the charts!’
‘I was gonna suggest today that Boss get someone to play it with him!’
‘I was there last night, almost died laughing!’
‘Golden Wind is just such a weird company, man!’
‘I noticed too, all their games are pure art pieces!’
‘Looking forward to Boss going all out!’
‘Here, take my little airplane gift!’
‘What the h*ll was the boss thinking...’
Listening to A-Yin and reading the wave of bullet comments—
Shen Miaomiao felt her brain short-circuiting!
“Liu Peiqie? Wait… wasn’t Liu Peiqiang the one who died on Mars?”
Oh, no, wait, that was someone else.
“So who the h*ll is this guy?!”
With that, she frantically searched up the streamer.
“Liu Peiqie, real name Wu Qingquan. Signed streamer with Crossfire Rush. Shark Live’s annual FPS zone champion…”
The more she read, the redder her face turned!
Then she smacked the desk hard—
BANG!
“F**k——!!!”
Turns out the game did get streamer exposure!
She just f**king stalked the wrong guy!!!
Shen Miaomiao felt like she was about to have a heart attack!
“Aiyaaa—these bastards are seriously driving me insane!!!”
She was so worked up, she even slipped into her hometown dialect:
“Ain’t you an FPS streamer?! What the hll are you doing streaming this dumb-a game*?!”
“What’s so fun about this damn curly-twisty game?!”
“Gu Sheng, you owe me money for this…”
She was on the verge of a breakdown.
By the end of her rant, poor Little Nezha was nearly in tears.
She’d been so vigilant!
She hadn’t even dared blink the entire night yesterday!
She even combed through the whole console games section where A-Yin usually hung out!
Didn’t see a single streamer playing their game. Only then did she feel safe enough to go to bed!
But who would’ve thought—
They’d get ambushed by a Crossfire Rush signed streamer instead!
No wonder they suddenly sold over two thousand copies!
Shen Miaomiao was gritting her teeth so hard she could’ve crushed rocks.
It took her a whole ten minutes—
And a glass of water—
To calm herself down.
“...It’s fine. It’s fine. Shen Miaomiao! Get it together!”
Don’t be fooled by her petite frame. As a top-tier couch potato, her strongest skill was a wide heart and fast emotional recovery.
“It’s okay! This game is full of bugs anyway!”
Shen Miaomiao took a deep breath and forced herself to refocus:
“It’s just a shift in situation. The game’s quality hasn’t even been revealed yet.”
“A streamer like A-Yin, once he sees the crappy art style, he won’t be able to resist roasting it!”
“If he trashes it on stream, I still have hope!”
“He might even kill the game’s sales with it!”
“Yeah!”
“You got this! Be strong! No way your luck’s that bad, Shen Miaomiao!”
With a round of self-pep talk, she mustered her courage again and tuned back into the stream.
Then she saw A-Yin launch the game and burst out laughing—
“Holy sh*t this art style is nuts, hahaha. I love it!”
A-Yin was clearly enjoying himself.
Completely unaware that a butterfly flapping its wings in Jinmen might just cause a spontaneous death by rage in the Golden Wind office.
Meanwhile, the voice channel came to life with a familiar Jin Yuan accent:
“Hey hey, Boss, can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear, Tree. Get your a** online.”
A-Yin replied.
His gaming buddy today was “Tree Bro,” nicknamed “A-Tree” or “A-Cui” by fans—a streamer known affectionately as the MLM Cult Leader and one of A-Yin’s old gaming pals.
Soon enough, the two of them entered the room.
They flipped a coin to assign roles for the first round—
A-Yin played the son, trying to get himself killed within a set time.
Tree Bro played the father, tasked with keeping A-Yin alive.
A-Yin had watched the stream replay last night—
So he figured he was mentally prepped for the game’s bizarre art style.
But—
Once he actually entered the game, he was still floored by the abstract and absurd character models.
“Holy sh*t this thing’s so freakin’ cursed…”
He swore with a laugh, but quickly got into character:
“Faaather! Your son, Yin Da Meng, has awakened! Be on guard!”
With that, he jumped out of the crib and started raising hell around the room.
And wouldn’t you know it—
He actually found something useful!
Maybe mom was careless, or dad was sloppy, but right next to the crib, on a little table, was a plate of sliced fruit—and beside it, a fruit knife.
A-Yin lit up like he found a legendary weapon!
“Yohooo holy sh*t! What a mighty blade! Dad, come check this out!”
Just then, Tree Bro caught up and pushed open the door with a cheerful call:
“Yoo—Yin Da Meng, come give Daddy a hug—”
But before he could finish—
A-Yin, wildly swinging the knife around, accidentally lost grip of it.
Swoosh—
The blade flew straight and true—stabbing right into Tree Bro’s forehead.
For a moment, the entire stream went dead silent.
A-Yin froze in place for a good few seconds—
Before finally muttering:
“Hmph!”
“A real man stands between heaven and earth—how can he live forever beneath others?”
