Chapter 22: Chapter 22
This is the second part of the past which means Grace life. Do not skip, it is needed for the easy flow of this book.
It dawned to Grace that she was pregnant after two months she noticed she missed her period. The symptoms started to show and missing her period for two months confirmed her fear.
She has been getting extra lazy and getting angry easily. She was scared, she was in trouble and the end was predictable.
She hasn't heard from Austin for a week now due to the fact he was busy with work. She needed to tell but she didn't know how. She just graduated from high school two months ago and had spent the day in his house which resulted in her sleeping with him for the third time.
Grace's phone rang, it was a call from Austin. She locked her door before she answered the call.
"Hello."
"Hey Gracie, how are you? I'm so sorry I've been busy, I'd make it up to you. Let's meet tomorrow." Austin spoke as soon as he heard Grace's voice.
He was really tired and the pressure at work had made him not have so much time for her.
"Okay, Austin I have to tell you something too." She said.
"We will talk about it tomorrow, I miss you and I love you." Austin said.
"Good night." Grace said and ended the call, crying herself to sleep. She couldn't tell anyone, not Trisha or her mother. She was scared.
She remembered the last time they had sex.
"You didn't pull out!" She exclaimed.
"Really? Don't worry it will be fine." Austin assured her.
"How will it be fine if I got pregnant stupid!" She pushed him as he tried wrapping his arms around her.
"I said it's gonna be fine and stop stressing about it." He said.
"I will kill you when I get pregnant, soon I will have to go to the university this September and you can't jeopardise it for me!" She spat out, getting off from the bed.
"I'm sorry." He muttered.
"Be sorry for yourself, I'm going home," she said, getting her clothes off the floor.
"So quick? Are you really angry with me?" He asked, taking his hands through his hair.
She sighed, "i'm not angry with you babe, my dad will be back soon and I can't put us at risk." She leaned towards him and kissed his lips.
"I love you." She said.
Austin got out of the bed. "Let me escort you."
Grace cried, that little mistake had jeopardised her life and abortion was the last thing on her mind.
Grace arrived at her destination. She walked into the building as she took a seat waiting patiently for Austin.
In less than five minutes, Austin arrived with chocolates and flowers in his hands. He took a seat after pecking Grace on her lips.
"Hey, it's been a long I saw your beautiful face," he complimented, giving her the flowers and chocolate.
"Thank you." She sighed.
"How have you been? Are you hungry, aren't you going to order something to eat?" He asked her.
"Austin, I'm fine!" She sighed. "I have something to tell you," she spat out with some uncomfortable feeling within her.
"What..." Austin's phone ringing interrupted his speech.
"Shit!" He muttered underneath his breath. "It's from the office, I actually squeezed my time to be here." He spat out.
"Answer the call," she insisted.
"No worries, speak up, I'm listening. You seem bothered."
"I..." Austin's phone rang again.
Austin ignored the call for the second time. "Answer it Austin!" She insisted but he refused.
"If it rings for the third time, I will speak up." He ushered her.
She took in a deep breath before speaking, "I am pregnant Austin!"
Silence!
Austin's phone rang again and he picked it up this time, excusing himself. "We will talk later, I promise."
But Austin never returned, left her and never came back.
Grace saw him again for the second time, he was in Lagos now. The bastard who ruined her life.
