Chapter 87: Chapter 87
"There are no wounds on her body, only traces of an injection on her scalp." John Green looked at her earnestly, "Can you still say this wasn’t done by someone?"
"Scalp injection..." Lucy seemed to have difficulty swallowing, "How did you find it out?"
"It’s not hard to discover." He continued, "If you look carefully, you can find it."
"So it really was done by someone? Have you found out who did it?"
John Green shook his head, "There’s no clue."
Lucy breathed a sigh of relief, "What are you going to do? Will you keep looking?"
He shook his head, "Not for now, this isn’t my main focus at the moment."
"Focus on your girlfriend for a while. With something happening, her mood must be heavy and depressed."
The waiter brought in the dishes, and John Green asked, "Want to have a drink?"
"Do you want to drink? If you want to drink, I’ll join you, and we can hire a driver on the way back."
John Green nodded and ordered two bottles of whiskey.
The two of them ate, drank, and chatted, but he raised his glass many times without drinking much, just a sip each time.
On the contrary, Lucy drank quite heartily.
By the end of the bottle, he had only drunk about half a cup, and the rest had gone into Lucy’s stomach.
This evening, John’s main goal was to get Lucy drunk.
True to his expectations, by the time they finished eating, Lucy was already dazed with drunkenness.
John Green helped her into the car, called for a driver, and went to her place together.
Shortly after entering, the hypnotist he had arranged arrived as scheduled. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novel~fire~net
A drunken but somewhat clear-headed Lucy was effortlessly hypnotized by the hypnotist’s guidance.
The result was predictable, as Lucy confessed everything she shouldn’t have.
"I bought the AKS virus at a high price. It’s 100% deadly, but it’s precisely what I need. Before John returned to the country, we talked about everything; we were partners at work and good friends in life. I’m the only one who can stand by his side. Who does Mia Townsend think she is? Why should a girl who didn’t even graduate from middle school be remembered by him for so many years? I’m not willing, I’m not content, I want her dead. Once she’s dead, John won’t think of her anymore, and it’ll be me who’s always with him..."
She said a lot, almost answering all the hypnotist’s questions.
She confessed everything truthfully.
John Green hadn’t expected her to confess so smoothly; he didn’t have much hope for success tonight.
He was just taking a chance.
It seemed heaven was helping him.
After the hypnotist left, John Green also left.
He sent the hypnotism video to Lucy’s phone, so she would see it when she sobered up the next morning.
Returning to Blossom Haven, he changed his shoes upon entering and immediately saw Mia Townsend and Lucy Eaton sitting close together on the sofa, watching a variety show.
Their laughter echoed endlessly.
Jacob Green, sitting on another sofa, looked utterly exasperated.
"Why is this young guy so good at flirting? Handsome and a smooth talker, he must be the kind of guy that girls like in real life."
Lucy Eaton was about to agree when her eye caught John Green. She quickly signaled Mia Townsend silently with her hand, "This pretty boy is just okay, nowhere near as good as Big Brother."
Who knew Mia Townsend wouldn’t catch the hint and boldly replied, "Though not as handsome as John, his tongue more than makes up for it."
Before she could finish speaking, John Green scooped her up from the sofa, "Is that right? You need a reevaluation."
Mia blushed instantly, kicking her legs gently in protest, "Put me down, it’s too embarrassing."
"What’s there to be embarrassed about? There are no outsiders here." He calmly carried her back to the room.
As the door closed, he pressed his lips fiercely against her cherry lips, and before she could catch her breath, he laid her on the bed.
Mia Townsend only felt her skirt being forcefully pulled away as his breath approached.
This time, even calling him ’good brother’ was not going to help.
Especially when he used his tongue to demonstrate his skills to her; she felt like crying without tears, realizing this realization came too abruptly.
When Mia could finally breathe, her throat was dry from previous screams.
John Green slowly dressed as he got off the bed, "I’ll get it for you."
She lay in bed, holding onto a thin blanket, "You were just..."
Mia covered her face with the blanket, "Too aggressive."
He chuckled softly, "Next time you say something wrong, the punishment will be even harsher. Remember that."
"I didn’t say anything much; you’re being too petty."
"In your heart, no man should measure up to me; that’s the right mindset."
"What about you? Do you think the same way?"
"I’ve always thought so."
At these words, she conceded, "Okay, then I’ll think so too."
John Green got her a cup of water, watched her drink, and said, "The result has been proven, it was Lucy who did it."
"How did you prove it?"
He then briefly explained what had happened.
"Does that really work?"
"Will she admit it? Or will she deny it till the end?"
"We’ll know tomorrow morning."
In the morning, the sky was gray and misty.
Lucy first called John Green, only asking where he was, and John replied, "Blossom Haven."
Then the call was abruptly hung up.
Nearly twenty minutes later, she appeared at the front gate.
With permission, Nathaniel Green led her in.
John Green waited for her in the living room, while Mia Townsend was eating in the side hall.
Lucy had evidently cried; her eyes were red, and unusually, she didn’t even wear makeup, showing up bare-faced.
She sat down and asked directly, "When did you find out?"
"On the day I discovered Mia was infected, I inferred it was your doing."
"You didn’t say anything because you weren’t sure yet?"
John Green denied, "No, it was because I had no evidence."
Her gaze turned dim, "I did do it, John. I’ve loved you all these years. Did you notice even a bit?"
"I realized it just recently; that’s why I intentionally kept a distance from you. I didn’t expect you to go so far as to harm Mia. Lucy, I barely recognize you anymore." John Green looked at her, "Our friendship ended the moment you harmed Mia."
"I know I’ve done something unforgivable and anticipated this outcome if you found out, but I don’t regret it. I believe I put up my greatest effort for my love, just unfortunate that I didn’t meet you sooner..." Her eyes grew misty, "I held onto a glimmer of hope that you’d never discover what I did, John, I truly love you."
