Chapter 119: Chapter 119
"Oh, another one came to die." The man said in a relaxed tone, "Your courage is commendable, but unfortunately, soon you’ll regret coming to me at this time."
After speaking, he charged at Lucy, but the guys behind him didn’t move, thinking their boss was more than capable of handling a woman.
Unfortunately, they miscalculated.
When the swaggering man’s arms were dislocated one by one, and his head was stomped on the ground by Lucy, the group on the opposite side couldn’t hold back and surged forward.
Lucy picked up a knife from the ground, and amidst the stunned gazes of the kneeling men, her figure swiftly darted among the seven tall men.
Accompanied by the sound of the knife hitting the ground, a symphony of wailing echoed clearly.
Lucy did not kill them because they were in a hospital, with surveillance cameras and a crowd of outsiders. She was the Prime Minister’s daughter, and if she could subdue them effortlessly, there was no need to kill and leave a trail.
Even if it’s self-defense.
After all, in such a situation, people will focus on her killing someone, rather than why she killed.
If it weren’t in a public area, none of these eight people would survive the night.
So, all eight men lay on the ground with dislocated arms, writhing like caterpillars.
As long as they didn’t have guns, she feared nothing.
If they did, even with just two people, she’d reconsider whether to intervene.
The police arrived promptly and arrested this group of social parasites.
The dozen or so people, initially kneeling, sat paralyzed on the ground, finally coming back to their senses.
"Dr. Eaton." Dr. Li from the gynecology department whispered.
Lucy stepped forward to help her up, "Are you alright?"
"Thanks to you." Dr. Li said with a sob, "If it weren’t for you, we might not have survived. Dr. Eaton, I didn’t know you were so skilled. Watching you confront them made my heart nearly leap out. Practicing martial arts is truly beneficial; it not only protects oneself but also helps others. I really don’t know how to thank you." Official source is novel⚑fire.net
"No need to thank me. I only regret arriving late. If I came sooner, maybe they could have been saved." Looking at the bodies on the ground, her expression couldn’t hide the sorrow.
"Dr. Eaton, your hand is bleeding."
Lucy looked down and noticed a small cut on her hand, bleeding.
"It’s nothing, I’ll put a band-aid on it later. You must’ve been terrified; go home and rest tonight."
Dr. Li shook her head, "If I leave, there’s no one on duty in gynecology. I’m fine now, recovered my composure."
Lucy patted her shoulder, "Then go back to the office first."
As the injured were treated, Lucy planned to return to the office. She inadvertently looked up, her gaze fixed on a figure standing at the railing on the third floor.
The man was dressed in all black, wearing sunglasses and a mask, looking at her from above.
He seemed to have been standing there for a long time.
Although she couldn’t see his face, Lucy was certain he was watching her.
Lucy withdrew her gaze and turned back to her office.
She had rushed out earlier without her phone, and as soon as she walked into the office, she heard the phone ringing incessantly.
Just as she reached the desk, the phone stopped ringing.
Seeing 28 missed calls, Lucy was startled. Apart from two calls from Nathaniel, the rest were all from Jacob.
Just as she was about to return the call, the door was forcefully pushed open.
Seeing Lucy well and unharmed, Jacob’s tense expression instantly collapsed.
"Why didn’t you answer the phone?"
"I was dealing with those damned bastards and forgot to bring it."
Jacob walked in and grabbed her hand, "I never want to see you hurt."
"It’s just a minor injury." She opened the drawer to take out a band-aid, but he snatched it away, "Let me."
Lucy watched him carefully apply the band-aid on her wound and couldn’t help but plant a kiss on his cheek, "I’m really sorry for disturbing your sleep."
"You didn’t disturb me. Without you here, I haven’t slept yet; my routine is all messed up."
There seemed to be a hint of grievance in his words.
He nodded, "Seeing you makes me want to sleep."
"I have a hypnotic effect?"
"No, just seeing you makes me want to sleep peacefully."
Lucy felt a slight blush on her face, "Stop being silly. It’s late; you should go home and rest. Don’t you have to go to the company in the morning?"
"I’m not going." He simply sat down, "I’ll stay here with you."
"You won’t work tomorrow?"
"You won’t sleep tonight? There’s no place to sleep here."
Jacob gently embraced her, "Anywhere is my bed with you by my side."
Before Lucy could speak again, he asked, "Is there surveillance in this office?"
"No, but I’m on duty. If someone comes in and sees you..."
"Is this the time to consider this?" He playfully tapped her nose, "You should be thinking about what I’m going to do next."
"This is an office, darling, don’t mess around."
Jacob locked the door and approached her, turning Lucy around and holding her from behind, his hands resting on the buckle of her shorts.
In two seconds, they were undone.
Lucy felt quite uncomfortable, not wanting to do this in the office, but he was very enthusiastic, even somewhat excited.
He continued twice before stopping.
Fortunately, no one came knocking during the process.
Afterwards, Lucy unlocked the door, while Jacob lay sleeping in her office desk area.
Despite the soft bed at home, he chose to stay and keep her company through the night.
At six o’clock, she woke him, and they left the office one after the other.
After sleeping for a few hours, Jacob felt better than Lucy, who fell asleep in the car as soon as she got in; he even buckled her seatbelt.
He took her home, carried her to bed, then suddenly didn’t feel like going to the company anymore; he wanted to continue sleeping.
And so, the rebellious President of Clan Green took the day off today.
Lily wasn’t having it.
After he didn’t answer her calls, she phoned Nathaniel and then headed straight to the house, knocking on the bedroom door.
"You’re being ridiculous, little brother. There’s a board meeting today, how are we supposed to proceed without you? The old guys are all waiting for you, get up quickly."
Jacob, holding Lucy in his arms, didn’t even open his eyes but responded, "Postpone it till tomorrow."
"What didn’t you sleep well doing?"
"Second sister, isn’t it obvious?" His tone was lazy and unhurried.
