Chapter 436: Chapter 436

As she spoke, she began to cry.

Ye Ling smiled distantly, "Chun’er, don’t cry. I’m just explaining to you and your sister-in-law; your brother knows about these things too, so you don’t need to repeat them to him when he returns."

Wang Ping, sitting on the kang, glanced at Shen Chun upon hearing this. Then she thought about how the sugar incident was stirred up by Shen Chun, causing such a mess and making both sides lose face. Ye Ling subtly hinted at Shen Chun, and it suddenly dawned on her that people can’t be judged by appearances. Shen Chun usually speaks softly like a mosquito and shyly after a few words, but unexpectedly, she’s one who stirs up trouble.

On the other side, Shen Chun’s face turned pale, focused only on crying.

Ye Ling said nothing, but Wang Ping couldn’t sit still anymore. She was usually the one mocking others, but today it was her being used as a tool. How could she feel comfortable? She pulled the crying child to stand, "Sister, it’s getting late, so I’ll head back first. Today was my fault, and I apologize for the trouble I’ve caused. Honestly, at first I was upset, but since you weren’t afraid of my anger and told the truth, I feel better now. We family members are rational, especially your friend, who still treats you as a friend even after so many things — someone worth cherishing. No one can eat this sugar; keep it for yourself."

Wang Ping had already pulled the child off the kang. Ye Ling also got off to see them off, "Sister-in-law, I have a quick temper. If you speak reasonably, I’m not petty, but I hate being calculated against. Originally, I’m not fond of sweets, but this sugar was gifted by a friend. Whenever another car goes down the mountain, I’ll ask someone to buy a pound back for the child."

Her words were generous, and Wang Ping’s small grudge completely disappeared, "Sister, you’re being too polite to me. We have sugar at home, and besides, the brat has bad teeth; can’t let him eat sugar anymore. It’s late, unlike us who stay at home all day. You’re not going to the base tomorrow; you should rest."

Already outside the door, just a few steps away, Ye Ling stood at the door without further escorting, nodding until seeing Wang Ping take the child, who was no longer crying, inside her own door before turning back to the house.

Inside on the kang, Shen Chun was still wiping her tears, which irritated Ye Ling, "Chun’er, why are you crying? Are you still feeling wronged? If it was truly unintentional, I wouldn’t say anything. Can you honestly admit it wasn’t on purpose?"

Thinking about the food dumped under the bed, Ye Ling felt nauseated seeing Shen Chun acting . She kicked off her shoes and got on the kang, saying, "It’s late, sleep now. Stop crying like you were bullied."

Clearly being a bully, yet just because you can cry, can you get sweet things?

Ye Ling pulled out a quilt, spread it on the kang, and made the bed, when someone knocked on the door outside. She called out, ’Who’s there,’ while stepping off the kang to open the door.

Seeing Shen Bin outside, Ye Ling was surprised, "Why are you back?"

"Came back to get logistical supplies, leaving tomorrow morning." Shen Bin came in with a chill, noticing his wife seemed thinner after not seeing her for two months, "Not having an appetite lately?"

Both entered the house one after the other, Ye Ling following him saying, "It’s okay, just eating less, but I’m fine."

Shen Bin first noticed the family kang upon entering, a warm expression on his face, then his gaze landed on Shen Chun sitting silently on the kang, her head down. He frowned tightly, "What’s wrong with Chun’er?"

Ye Ling knew Shen Bin’s return meant this matter couldn’t be skimmed over, so she explained Wang Ping bringing the child and the sugar incident. Finally, she said, "..... I’m not a petty person, but the sugar was sent by Weilai, and I haven’t touched a piece myself. I thought of sharing it with Dongzi and Lining when we got together, since it’s Weilai’s kind gesture."

Seeing his little wife looking aggrieved and his sister raising her head with scared, swollen eyes from crying, Shen Bin felt torn but hardened his heart, "Chun’er, never let this happen again. Luckily, today your sister-in-law explained it directly. Otherwise, if she hadn’t and people misunderstood us as petty, causing a rift, it wouldn’t be good living together."
