Chapter 1060: Chapter 1060
Walking down the familiar hallway.
The students had already entered the classroom, taken out their textbooks, and were previewing the material in anticipation of the teacher's surprise check during class.
"Where are you planning to go?"
Though they'd sneaked into the school, high school wasn't the same as college; the teachers and students in a class would definitely recognize each other.
If they were recognized, the disciplinary director might rush over with a riot shield immediately.
Yao Mingyue's eyes sparkled, but she didn't seem worried at all: "Then let's just stroll around, as if we're out shopping."
Xu Musen chuckled: "You've got quite the potential to become a delinquent student."
"Of course, I must be the best at whatever I do!"
Yao Mingyue tilted her delicate face upwards, walking through the campus hallway, her ponytail swaying like a carefree little deer.
The bustling campus suddenly became empty.
Looking at the familiar classroom sign.
Though they said they were just wandering, they subconsciously came back to their old classroom.
Everything was so familiar, the familiar desks, the piled-up study materials, even the trash can in the back row...
The only difference was, the people sitting in the classroom were no longer them.
Xu Musen and Yao Mingyue stood at the back door, quietly watching the lively class through the observation window.
Just minutes before the teacher arrived to check homework, the slackers in the back row, accompanied by the trash can, began frantically asking the good students to copy their homework.
"Hurry up and hand in your homework, the teacher is about to check it!"
A girl came to the back of the class, patting a boy's desk as she started collecting homework.
The boy scratched his head: "Class monitor, please help me out, let me copy your homework quickly!"
"What did you do at home all weekend that you're only panicking now? The teacher will be here in less than five minutes, how will you finish writing?"
"No worries, five minutes is enough. Dear class monitor, just let me copy it, please." The boy pleaded pitifully.
The girl reluctantly took out her homework: "Alright, alright, just copy it quickly."
"Thank you, class monitor, you're beautiful and kind-hearted, your love knows no bounds! I'll treat you to a drink after class!"
"Tch, just write it down quickly!"
The girl pouted but glanced towards the last row, at the boy sitting on the lucky spot beside the trash can.
"Hey, Zhang Peng, where's your homework?"
The boy lazily leaned over his desk and, seeing the girl, reached out his hand: "Class monitor, I didn't do my homework either, lend me a notebook to copy, please."
"Why didn't you do it again? Didn't I remind you several times yesterday?"
There was a hint of frustrated expectation in the girl's words.
"I had to help out at home a bit and didn't get the time. I'll definitely do it next time, just let me copy it this time."
"No way! This time the teacher needs to critique you so you remember it."
The girl wasn't as easily swayed this time.
The boy pleaded: "Kind and beautiful class monitor, you've helped him, so help me too. You can't treat me any stricter!"
The girl snorted: "I do treat you differently..."
But as she said that, she paused and took out a notebook from her pocket and handed it to him.
"Thank you, class monitor, you're truly an angel... Hey, this isn't the homework?"
The boy opened the notebook, seeing it filled with exam key points and notes.
"Of course it's not homework. This is my class notes, study them well, rely on yourself to do the exercises in the future, that's it!"
"But, class monitor... I think it's better for me to solve the homework problem quickly right now."
"Now you're worried? Let me tell you, this is called 'teaching a man to fish rather than giving him a fish'. Study well, ask me if you don't understand anything."
With that, the girl ignored the boy's pleading gaze, her lips curved into a smile, and she turned and left.
This scene made Xu Musen feel deeply nostalgic; back then, he too was a slacker guarding the trash can in the last row. He often couldn't finish his homework, and every time it was due, he was always begging for help from classmates.
"This class monitor is quite nice, being able to help out slackers like angels in times of need."
Xu Musen resonated deeply.
"But do you believe it, that this girl came to the back row specifically for that boy at the end?"
Yao Mingyue raised her eyebrows, pointing at the boy beside the trash can, now looking sullenly at the notebook.
"What makes you say that?"
"With girls, sometimes, when they're more polite to a boy, it actually means they're less interested. Only the boys treated specially or sometimes a bit harshly are the ones they truly care for.
She's trying to help him keep up with her pace, so they can head to the same university together..."
Yao Mingyue had a meaningful smile as she looked at Xu Musen with eyes full of deep implication.
Xu Musen pondered for a moment and also gave a knowing smile: "Are you trying to imply that you were actually harsh to me back then for my own good?"
Yao Mingyue's cheeks turned slightly red, but she hummed more arrogantly: "Of course, this beauty is always considerate of others, isn't she?"
Xu Musen nodded along, grinning cheekily: "But if I recall correctly, you always lent me your homework to copy, right? I never saw you prepare class notes for me, how was I supposed to improve?"
"Well, that's because..."
Yao Mingyue's eyes flickered with a familiar possessive gleam, and she reached out, gently grabbing Xu Musen's collar closer to her: "You don't need to improve, after all... I'll take care of you in the future."
