Chapter 167: Chapter 167

Serena walked out of the principal’s office and immediately got surrounded by them.

"Serena is awesome! You took on those two guys from Meridia all by yourself—that’s incredible!"

Everyone in the class was sincerely admiring Serena, looking at her with eyes full of reverence. Follow current novels on novel~fire~net

Serena nonchalantly said, "I didn’t hit anyone."

The class reacted; those people from Yale University left in frustration because there was no evidence.

If they say Serena hit someone now, and those Yale folks find out, they’d definitely make a fuss.

They quickly corrected themselves, "Right, right, Serena here is the weakest; there’s no way she could hit anyone!"

"Exactly, Serena’s so gentle and sweet; a girl like her couldn’t possibly hit anyone! By the way, Serena, when will you show us a few moves?"

Upon hearing this familiar voice, Serena stopped and turned to see Crystal Joyce catching up breathlessly, eyebrows furrowed.

Due to her poor health, she was paler than most, radiating a weak and frail vibe, which made her seem quite pitiable.

Serena waved for them to head back to class, then fixed her gaze on Crystal.

"Why are you at Imperia University?"

Crystal, having caught her breath, gave Serena a slight smile.

"Sis, I really wanted to start painting again, so I begged Damian to let me come to Imperia University! I heard those people from Yale University were giving you trouble earlier, and I was worried, so I came to check on you."

"No need to worry, I’m fine."

Crystal spoke indignantly on her behalf, "Sis, those Yale folks are too much. Should I tell Damian about this for you?"

Serena decisively rejected it; she could handle such a small matter herself.

"Alright." Being refused, Crystal nodded obediently and looked at her with hopeful eyes, "Sis, I’ve been abroad receiving treatment and don’t have many friends in Imperia. Now that we’re both at Imperia University, can I come find you to hang out?"

Serena was always reserved around new acquaintances, nodding towards her.

Crystal beamed happily, "That would be fantastic!"

Watching Serena walk away, Silas emerged from the shadows. "Miss Crystal, you’re so warm towards her, yet she treats you . Why do you put yourself through this?"

Because of Crystal’s special health circumstances and Imperia University’s reluctance to upset Damian, the school allowed her to have protection on campus, so Silas came to Imperia University with her.

Crystal disagreed with him, frowning slightly, "Silas, my sis might be a bit aloof, but she’s truly a great person. We’ve just met; once we’re more familiar, things will change!"

Silas felt an even deeper antagonism towards Serena, "Miss Crystal, you’re too naive. She will never treat you as a friend."

"You..." Crystal was obviously upset and didn’t want to talk to him further. "I just saw a stray cat over there, and I want to feed it. Don’t follow me."

Silas’s gaze grew even darker, reluctantly agreeing, "Alright, Miss Crystal."

Serena returned to the classroom, finding Nancy Sutton already waiting for her. "Serena, are you alright? I heard what happened—they went too far and deserve a bit of payback!"

"Nancy, don’t get involved in this," Serena gently told her. "I can handle it myself."

Nancy knew her temperament, and begrudgingly agreed with a bit of frustration, "Alright, alright, I’ll do as you say!"

Seeing her puffed-up expression, Serena found Nancy quite adorable and gently pinched her cheek with her alabaster finger.

Nancy nuzzled into her palm, then sheepishly spoke as if she’d remembered something.

"Serena, why haven’t I seen Elliot lately?"

Serena noticed Nancy’s subtle thoughts, smirking slightly. "There’s been some trouble with the company abroad. My brother flew out a few days ago to handle it and returned today, back to work at headquarters."

"So busy, Elliot mustn’t have had the chance to rest well. He must be very tired..."

"Yeah." Serena nodded in agreement, "My brother is indeed worn out. Nancy, would you like to join me in visiting him at the office?"

Nancy nodded excitedly, then quickly gathered herself, cleared her throat, and spoke with a proud air.

"Serena, don’t get any ideas. I’m not dying to go; I’m just going to keep you company. Going alone would be boring!"

Serena didn’t call her out on her innocent intentions, instead sending a message on her phone to Jude Ford.

[Could you do me a favor and make a trip to The Gilded Crumb?]

The Gilded Crumb is an old, renowned pastry shop in Imperia, famous for its delicious treats, favored by high-status families, but the only drawback is its daily limited quantity, making it hard to purchase.

Jude replied swiftly: [Sure, boss!]

Serena added: [Get two boxes.]

Jude: [Boss, why do you need two boxes?]

Jude: [Boss, are you planning to get one box for Damian Quinn too?]

Right after she sent this message, Jude called her.

"Boss, I notice you’re quite attentive towards Damian Quinn, eh? Are you secretly with him..."

Listening to Jude’s alarmed voice, Serena coldly interrupted him, "Shut up, or I’ll block you again."

If he learned about her relationship with Damian, his loose lips would surely spill it to The Netherworld Syndicate. She’s not ready for them to know.

Otherwise, they’d all flock to Imperia...

Just the thought of them coming to Imperia to mess with Damian gave Serena a headache.

Jude, scared into silence, reluctantly agreed, "Alright, alright, boss, I won’t say anything. I’ll buy the pastries and then come pick you up at Imperia University."

Serena nodded in agreement, "Okay."

Twenty minutes later, the car arrived at Everett Group.

Serena and Nancy had just walked into the company when they were politely stopped by the receptionist.

"Sorry, without an appointment, you’re not allowed in according to regulations."

Serena didn’t give the receptionist a hard time, preparing to call Elliot, but the receptionist suddenly widened her eyes in shock and addressed her excitedly.

"Are you... Are you Mr. Elliot’s sister?!"

Upon hearing this, she quickly pulled out her phone, compared her to a photo, finding Serena even more beautiful than in the picture.

Her attitude immediately became exceedingly warm, "Miss Everett, please come in, please come in. Sorry for not recognizing you earlier!"

The entire company knew their Mr. Elliot is a true sister-loving man, decorating his office with photos of his sister, even his phone wallpaper had her picture.

Whenever the Sixth Miss is mentioned, Mr. Elliot’s demeanor becomes gentle, making him much easier to converse with than usual.
