Chapter 129: Chapter 129
Serena Everett looked at the tall, handsome man in front of her, and didn’t have any feelings of rejection. She obediently let him pat her head.
If you looked closely, you’d see they actually bore some resemblance to each other.
"Serena, can you call me big brother?"
Seeing the hopeful look in Elliot Everett’s eyes, Serena couldn’t bring herself to refuse and softly called out, "Big brother."
His sister was just too obedient!
Hearing their precious little sister call him big brother so sweetly, Elliot Everett’s usually cold heart melted, and his expression softened dramatically.
So, there’s no way he could let that old beast Damian Quinn take advantage, especially since Damian Quinn already had a girlfriend. The marriage agreement between Serena and the Quinn Family had to be annulled immediately!
His sister was still young; he had to protect her well and not let anyone take away the little princess that the Everett Family had just gotten back!
Watching this scene, Niall Everett and Ian Everett couldn’t help but turn into green-eyed monsters. Big brother had never been this gentle with them!
Growing up, the words big brother used most with them were — "Get lost!"
"Big brother..." Cassia Everett suppressed her embarrassment and called out, "Big brother, why are you ignoring me? Did I do something wrong?"
Only now did Elliot Everett notice Cassia Everett standing to the side, and his gentle demeanor disappeared, reverting to his usual indifference as he spoke in a mild tone.
"Sorry, Cassia, I was so happy to see Serena that I momentarily overlooked you."
Listening to Elliot Everett’s explanation, Cassia’s face still looked unpleasant, thinking to herself that this was clearly favoritism for the slut Serena!
She had been living with them for 18 years, so why did each one of them like that slut Serena more!
Seeing Cassia’s unpleasant expression, Jocelyn Sterling interjected diplomatically.
"You rascal, you just got back and all you care about is Serena, you even forgot your mom! Did you bring gifts for Serena and Cassia?"
Elliot’s handsome face showed a tinge of apology, "I came back in a hurry and didn’t have time to buy any."
No matter how angry Cassia Everett got, she didn’t dare show it to Elliot Everett; he was different from Ian and Niall. He was the head of the family business. It didn’t matter if Ian and Niall liked that slut Serena, but he absolutely must not like Serena more!
"It’s okay, big brother, you’re so busy every day, it’s perfectly normal to forget to buy a gift," Cassia said understandingly, "We all understand you, and sister wouldn’t be mad about you forgetting a gift, right?"
Before Serena could respond to her tea-words, Elliot Everett’s deep and pleasant voice rang out.
"Even if Serena is angry, she has every right to be. It was my mistake. I shouldn’t have forgotten to bring a gift for Serena."
Upon hearing this, Cassia bit her teeth in anger. She had meant those words to make Elliot think Serena was a petty person and thus ruin his impression of Serena.
But unexpectedly, it didn’t tarnish his impression of Serena at all; instead, it made him defend that slut Serena even more!
Serena’s affection for this accommodating big brother increased by several points.
"Serena, how about big brother accompanies you to the mall tomorrow to personally pick out a gift you like?"
Elliot looked down at her, his tone extraordinarily gentle, afraid that even a slight change in tone would frighten her.
Cassia couldn’t help but clench her teeth in jealousy. Elliot was usually so busy and had never personally taken anyone to the mall. Why did Serena get this special treatment!
"Big brother, I want to go with you too!" As soon as she finished speaking, Cassia looked pitifully at Serena, "Sister, you wouldn’t mind, right?"
She looked as if Serena always bullied her regularly.
Elliot furrowed his brows. Seeing this, Cassia immediately felt smug, thinking Elliot’s impression of Serena must be bad now. If she kept it up, Elliot would surely dislike that slut Serena!
As this thought crossed her mind, Cassia didn’t hesitate to continue, "If you mind, sister, then I won’t go..." Follow current novels on novel·fiɾe·net
Elliot interrupted Cassia’s tea-words, frowning. He had seen all sorts of people in business; he could easily see through Cassia’s petty tricks, especially since she was being so blatant.
"What’s wrong, big brother?"
Cassia asked, perplexed. In her plan, Elliot was supposed to start disliking that slut Serena, so why wasn’t he only not disliking her, but taking such a stern attitude with Cassia instead?
Elliot already had a powerful presence, and now his expressionless face added to the pressure he exerted on others.
"I just got back and want to spend more time with Serena. Let Niall and Ian accompany you; I’ll cover all your expenses."
"Big brother, we want to accompany Serena too..."
Not letting them finish their words, Elliot shot a cold glance over, devoid of the earlier gentleness shown to Serena, full of oppressive intensity.
"What were you saying?"
Niall and Ian immediately shut up, daring not speak, crushed by the pressure.
How annoying, big brother came back and started competing with them for their sister!
Niall and Ian’s resentment was reaching the skies, but they had no means to confront Elliot.
Serena spoke softly, "Big brother."
"Hmm?" Hearing her voice, Elliot’s expression immediately softened again, turning to look at her, "What is it, Serena?"
"Big brother, you don’t have to accompany me to the mall to pick out gifts, just go about your business."
Elliot felt a wave of warmth wash over him again and affectionately patted Serena’s head once more.
"It’s fine, big brother always has time for his sister."
Witnessing this scene, Cassia grew even more envious, tightly clenching her hands at her sides, though she showed nothing on her face, turning instead to pour Elliot a cup of tea.
"Big brother, you must be tired from the long journey back, have some water!"
"Thank you," Elliot said politely as he accepted the tea.
"Sister, you should also try the tea I made!"
Cassia enthusiastically poured Serena a cup of tea. As Serena was about to take it, Cassia suddenly let go, and the scalding tea splashed onto Serena’s hand.
"Ah..." Cassia screamed in agony, tears welling up from the burn, "Sister, why did you deliberately splash hot tea on my hand to burn me?"
Serena watched her acting with cold eyes and replied in a cool voice, "You let go by yourself."
"How could I possibly let go and burn myself on purpose?" Cassia’s eyes welled with tears, her tone becoming even more aggrieved, "Sister, if you don’t want to apologize, that’s fine, but you can’t claim I let go on purpose!"
