Chapter 127: Chapter 127
Serena Everett had just arrived in the classroom when she was warmly greeted by her classmates.
"Serena, you’re here! Come on, sit down, we’ve cleaned your seat until it’s spotless!"
Hearing this term of address, Serena Everett’s delicate eyebrows raised slightly.
"Serena, when you joined the medical department, we had heard some bad rumors and misunderstood you, so our attitude wasn’t great. We’re really sorry and apologize..."
The 36 students in the class stood in front of her in unison, bowing their heads in sincere apology.
"From now on, we’ll listen to you, Serena. You say ’go East,’ and we wouldn’t dare go ’West!’"
"That’s right, Serena, we even want you to be our class president!"
"Exactly, only with you as president will every one of us be convinced!"
After Yara Shawnessy was expelled from Imperia University, their class no longer had a class president. When the counselor suggested electing a new president, they unanimously believed that Serena Everett was the only one worthy.
"I don’t want to be class president."
Serena rejected it without even thinking. Her laid-back nature didn’t want to bother with being a class president.
They had anticipated Serena would find it bothersome and refuse, so they promptly said, "Serena, don’t rush to reject us. As long as you agree to be president, we’ll do all the class president’s duties, and you just have to direct us!"
"Yeah, please, Serena, just say yes and be our president!"
"Alright." Serena was pestered by them and agreed reluctantly.
After all, she only needed to guide them, and didn’t have to do anything herself.
"Great, Serena agreed!" The whole class was so happy they nearly jumped for joy.
"Class has started, what are you still fussing about?"
Professor Langley came in, and everyone hurried back to their seats.
Listening to Professor Langley’s monotonous lecture, Serena felt drowsy and fell asleep on the desk.
"Serena is asleep, turn down the air conditioning a bit so she won’t catch a cold!"
"Right, and find a jacket to cover her with, don’t let her get chilled!"
Professor Langley watched this scene, half exasperated, half amused. Yet, he deliberately softened his voice to not disturb Serena’s nap.
Ever since yesterday’s competition, Serena had become Imperia University’s darling. To prevent her from being poached by Clearwater University, Principal Reed had gone around late at night urging each teacher to treat her with respect!
Furthermore, Serena’s dissection skills far surpassed his, so it was no wonder she slept in his class. It was his lack of ability to engage Serena in the lecture! Googlᴇ search Nov3lFɪre.ɴet
Professor Langley silently motivated himself inside, knowing he must work harder to improve his skills, hoping one day Serena would be engaged in his lectures!
Serena slept through the lecture, and upon waking, noticed a jacket covering her and a completely silent classroom, which warmed her heart a little.
"Serena, you’re awake!"
Seeing that Serena had woken up, only then did the whole class start to make noise.
"Serena, Aidan Keaton came to see you earlier. Seeing you were asleep, we didn’t wake you up and let him wait outside the classroom for you!"
Serena nodded and walked out to see Aidan Keaton waiting outside the classroom.
"Let’s go," Serena said flatly. She had agreed with him yesterday to guide him in suturing at this time.
Aidan dutifully followed behind her toward the lab, his gaze unconsciously drawn to her.
"Wow, Aidan Keaton has come to Imperia University to find Serena Everett again. Do you think there’s something going on between them?"
"I think so! But they seem so well-matched, it’s normal if there’s something going on!"
"Yeah, yeah, they’ll probably be together soon in my opinion!"
As more and more gossip swirled, rumors that Aidan and Serena were getting together quickly spread across Imperia University.
"I’ll only demonstrate once."
Serena spoke indifferently, her pale fingers holding a suture needle. When the old man taught her back in the day, she’d only needed to see it once to learn.
Aidan nodded earnestly, fully focused on watching her technique, yet his eyes couldn’t help but fall on her.
Serena’s focused expression, her delicate, porcelain-like face illuminated beautifully under the ambient glow, was so captivating that Aidan couldn’t help but become mesmerized.
"What are you staring at?" Noticing he was zoning out, Serena frowned displeasedly, "Does my face have knowledge written on it?"
"Sorry." Aidan’s ears tinged red, "I won’t lose focus again."
Serena’s tone was casual, "You’ve got talent, so study hard."
Once she taught him well enough, she could pass him off to the old man. That way, the old man wouldn’t be so set on dragging her back to inherit his legacy.
Well, she really was a clever little one!
Encouraged, Aidan looked at her seriously and solemnly said, "I won’t let you down!"
Such excellence in her, he too would strive to improve himself, to keep up with her pace...
"Okay." Serena replied rather nonchalantly, "That’s it for today, practice more on your own."
Aidan walked out of the lab with Serena, seeing a familiar black Maybach parked outside.
Damian Quinn’s eyes cooled slightly upon seeing Aidan beside Serena, yet he offered the young girl a gentle smile.
"Hey there, little one, big brother’s here to pick you up."
Aidan recognized Damian Quinn, his eyes full of shock; he couldn’t believe that the feared, dreaded man of Imperia could have such a gentle side...
Damian Quinn didn’t spare Aidan a glance, completely ignoring him but announced his claim by linking fingers with the young girl, possessively intertwined.
Serena allowed him to hold her hand, turned to Aidan and said, "I’m leaving now. Same time tomorrow at the lab."
"Okay!" Joy flashed across Aidan’s eyes as he immediately agreed.
Was the young girl meeting this man again tomorrow?
Damian Quinn’s gaze turned even icier, biting his molars with an air of dangerous menace.
Serena also noticed that certain someone was jealous again, and helplessly smiled, patiently explained.
"I’m just teaching him dissection and suturing, no need to be jealous."
Soothing him with her gentle words, Damian Quinn’s harsh eyes softened instantly, his deep, magnetic voice spilling forth gently and dotingly.
"Alright, I’ll do whatever our little one wants."
Witnessing their naturally intimate interaction, Aidan lowered his eyes in disappointment. After watching them leave, just as he was about to return to Clearwater University, he was blocked by Niall Everett and Ian Everett, who rushed over.
"We heard you wanted to pursue our sister?"
"Let me tell you, don’t even think about it, stay away from our sister in the future!"
