Chapter 38: Chapter 38
When Jackylyn entered the driver's seat, she averted her gaze. "What's with the face?"
"Yx talked to me," Jackylyn sighed.
"Yx?"
“Yes. She stated that Hudson was missing. She never returned home, and the last information they had from him came from the cemetery. ”
She didn't say anything. She forced herself to pay attention to what Jacky had said. She was enraged at the young man. In terms of what it did to her and everything else. Her heart was filled with rage once more, so she didn't care and stared at the stuffed toy.
"I don't care about him," she said, closing her eyes to signal to the woman that she didn't want to speak about the man.
"Last night, Theon and I talked. To tell you the truth, I asked him what he knew about you... According to Theon, you nearly died on your last mission to Mississippi. I wouldn't let anything happen to my friend if I wasn't comatose at the time.”
It piqued her interest, so she opened her eyes again and examined her. "Would you like to say something to me?"
"You should ask Doc Hayes."
"Please, Jacky... I don't want to talk to that man."
Jacky phone suddenly rang, and she quickly answered it. "Yx… Yes? What happened? Kienne? True... What do you mean? Doc Hayes? No way... ”
What happened?
Abhaya's heart suddenly pounded, and she was nervous whether she admitted it or not. She didn't like the way her friend was talking to Yx. Is there something wrong? Is it true that the man has gone missing and is being sought, or is she just a short distance away? There was nothing wrong here. She didn't care why the force of her heartbeat was almost erupting from her body.
Hudson, please...
“Shit! Can you just take a taxi, Kienne? I have to assist Yx in saving Doc Hayes."
"Jackylyn!"
She came to a halt and looked at her, surprised, "He's in a critical situation. Yx tracked down the person who wanted to kill him, and I assume they are torturing him now. ”
She stared at Jacklyn for a long time before speaking. In those moments, her brain and heart were at odds. She should be happy, but why isn't she?
As they got into her car, Jackylyn shuddered as she looked at her. It pulls that thing up quickly, as if it owns the road.
"Yx will kill me if she discovers I brought you with me!"
"I'm not concerned with Yx. That guy is still to blame and will you drive faster now. Make it soar!"
She winced at what she said and nodded, "May God bless us all."
She didn't want what she got from the friend she wanted to accompany her. But because she was naughty and used to be superior, she was able to say yes to Jackylyn despite her refusal to include her.
"You really despise him, don't you? Why did you show up? Your flight to Iceland has now taken off.”
Why? Yes, she does despise the man. But knowing he'd been arrested and suspected of being beaten and killed didn't sit well with her. She spent half her life shielding him... Prior to... She planned to kill him when she was not yet suspected. She has no idea what the rest is.
"...Kienne..."
"Just drive, Jacky," she finally replied, and she could only nod in agreement. After that, she will be able to live peacefully in Iceland.
She brought two firearms with her. When Jacky walks in, they part ways. A burned-out building far from civilization is now in front of them. They split up at the entrance to find the man faster, and because there were no people outside, they had an easier time. Rather than going to the airport, she is now with Jackylyn.
"Arghhhh!"
It was, if she wasn't mistaken, Hudson's voice. It was on the third floor, and she could hear people laughing as the man cried out in pain.
'Yx, where have you been?!' she pondered in her mind. Maybe it's not what's going on right now. Because if that happens, she swears she'll kill it with her own hands.
Hudson screamed angrily, "Stop it!!! Argghhh!"
It was as if her heart was pounding as she heard his piercing cry, as if he had been tormented too much. She wanted to run straight to the room, but she couldn't because she might die if she did.
Her body was in good shape, and she knew she could fight right now. She had no qualms about sneaking up each stairwell.
"Is it painful? It will be even more painful if you don't admit it."
"Strike that beast!"
She wanted to flee and kill the people there right away, but that would get her in trouble.
"Damn you! I have no idea what you're talking about, idiots."
Abhaya hears loud laughter and concludes that there will not be over thirty people, that if she hurried, the sun would never shine on her.
"Enough already! Please stop."
Damn! She ran up the stairs to the room where the man was, she listened to where the voice and noise were coming from, it was at the very end, she was just wondering why there seemed to be no one in the hallway watching, but she no longer cared, her mission was to save Hudson.
When she heard loud laughter and gunshots, the strength in her chest throbbed. Hudson nooo! She appeared to be running to the last room when someone pulled up behind her, which she didn't notice because she was in too much of a hurry.
She no longer fought because there were six armed men behind her, all pointing high-caliber guns at her, and she couldn't see what they looked like because of the mask they were wearing. She hope they don't catch Jacky.
When Abhaya saw Hudson appear in the middle of that large room tied to a chair and bruised body, she bit her lip. His forehead and nose were bleeding, and there were bruises on the lips and face, and some of its blood was dripping onto the floor. It had a wound on the side, and that's where the blood came from.
"Hudson!!!!!!" She didn't care; she ran to look him and wept as she watched the young man's face.
"A-Abhaya?" Hudson's disbelief reached her cheek, but he couldn't because his two hands were handcuffed to the back of the iron chair.
She did the same thing, she wanted to reach his face but couldn't, so all she could do was cry as she sat in front of him. Hudson looked tired and exhausted, and she could see in his eyes that he was just trying to cope with the pain.
"Doctor Hayes has a lovely present!" Suddenly, the group's leader, wearing a red mask, appeared and pulled her away from the young man.
"No! Let go of me!"
"Save her life; dammit, you need me."
Inside, loud laughter rang out and high-fives were exchanged. "Stupid! We will kill you too, and before we do, we will let this woman see you killed."
No! She was taken aback by what she heard. What will she do? They are only two and in a precarious situation. She couldn't move. All she could hope for was Jackylyn and Yx.
The leader pushed her with her men, and the men immediately grabbed her and forced her to sit on the iron chair directly in front of Hudson, who was a meter away; she tried to flee but couldn't.
Is everything really up to here in her life? She was stunned by her fist when the handle gun hit Hudson face. The man carelessly pulled the hair of Hudson she once loved... Was it once? Perhaps until now it still is?
"Please, d-don't..." she almost whispered, and she felt like she was back on her own, with nothing she could have done before in her past.
"What can you say, woman? I will murder the person you love." It smiled "Any final thoughts?" It aimed the gun's tip at Hudson's head.
Hudson's…
She couldn't even scream and be hysterical. All she knew was that there was no mercy in shedding her tears in those moments. She couldn't hear her own voice and just stared at the Hudson.
"A-Abhaya..."
"You don't have anything to say? Fine, I'll speak quickly." Said the gun man.
"Wait!" She yelled loudly as the bad guy pressed the gun's trigger.
Smiling, he paused and asked her to speak for a minute. God, what can she say in a minute? As much as she wants to say, maybe the entire day is less than what she wants to say and ask.
"Say something, motherfucker!"
She clenched her fist and closed her eyes, unable to bear the thought of what would happen next.
"I'm sorry for everything I've done to you; I regret everything. Losing our child, losing you, hurting you so much... I regret everything. I'm sorry... I've been a fool..."
"H-hudson…" Her words came out almost whisper-like.
"I know... I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I... I w-want you to know... That I truly... love you, Abhaya... Sorry… I was too late to realize it. I'm truly sorry... "
"Time's up!" The room was filled with the sound of a gunshot.
No!
When she opened her eyes, the young man's dejected head, bathed in his own blood, came to her senses and — he was no life.
"Nooooo! Hudson... Nooo. Shit!" she screamed, "You motherfuckers?! Damn you." She had lost her seat but couldn't get away, so she walked closer to the man with the iron chair, despite the fact that it was heavy, as long as she could just approach him. "Hey, hey, wake up? No way, you're not going to die on me... You can't die, can you? Please, no. Please, no... Get up!" She couldn't stop wailing. Both of her shoulders shook. "You're not going to die on me! Bullshit! Please get up!”
She felt the bad men let go of her hand. Instead of avenge Hudson death, she quickly embraced the lifeless Hudson. She clung to it too tightly. She didn't mind being bathed on his blood as long as she knew her heart was in excruciating pain and that it appeared to have killed her.
All of the rage, hatred, and resentment she felt here seemed to vanish. What replaced it was the love she used to have for the young man, but it was too late; she didn't even say she still loved him or forgiven him. He died without even saying that she had accepted his forgiveness.
"H-hudson… Why?!" she yelled angrily. "You already know how much I adore you…" As she hugged his body, she sobbed weakly in his chest." It was as if her entire being had vanished... "You know you never left my heart, you always stayed here. Yes, I used to love you, but because I know everything is a game, I didn't show it to you, even though I was hurt. Yes, I was furious when our child died, and hatred consumed me at the time. I bolted. I fortified myself. What I used to be will be buried in the pit. I disguised myself. Yx picked me up. Make me stronger. We crossed paths again when everything was fine. I remembered I had forgotten about you at the time. Why would I love a demon in a human body, but I was mistaken... So now... ...and now…" She couldn't say 'you're gone,' so she just hugged his lifeless body and didn't care if the people in that room were going to kill her.
But when Abhaya felt the hand caress her hair, she stopped crying. She quickly moved away from Hudson, where she noticed that he was still alive and the width of its smile. His lovely eyes still sparkle as if it had won the lottery and is overjoyed.
She was stunned and had no idea what to do at the time. Did he what—? When she looked around the room, she noticed that everyone was smiling at her. Their masks were off, and she could see the joy and excitement on their faces as if they were in a movie. Yx, Cuhen, Azael, Zyd, Theon, and other people were there.
So, is everything going on just for show? She wiped the tears from her eyes quickly. Blood rushed to her head, and before she could be consumed by shame and anger, she dashed out of that humiliating room. She's being played with yet again!
"Wait, Abhaya!"
She didn't pay attention. She was ashamed that his friends had agreed to play with her. And she had to leave that place before she could slap Hudson with her extreme embarrassment. She remembered something she had recently said to her, and instead of rejoicing because he was alive, she wanted to kill him! She ran so fast that she was caught outside the building.
"Dammit! Wait, I said." Her arm was restrained by a strong hand.
His hand brushed against her cheek quickly. She slapped him hard. "You're a jerk!"
"...Abhaya..."
She sighed as she noticed the pain in Hudson's eyes. She appeared perplexed and staring at it. As her tears began to fall, her eyes began to betray her once more. When she said she loved her earlier? Is that right? What is the point of it all?
He wiped her tears away with his finger as he reached for her cheek. "Hush... Don't shed any tears. I don't want you to cry for me."
She sobbed even harder. He was now looking at her and it was the first time he had looked at her with affection. She sees the love she has long desired to see, but it has previously been denied to her.
"If you're going to play again... please, I don't want to play your games anymore!" she cried, wiping away her tears with her cheek.
"I admit, Abhaya, this is the pinnacle of my pride. Play. Hurt. But, Abhaya, I hope you believe me when I say... ”
But she was afraid, and she didn't want to gamble any longer. How many tears rolled down her cheeks here? She can't count, and now it's right in front of her? Exactly like that? Only fucking like that?! She quickly turned around and walked away from Hudson without saying anything.
Hudson immediately pursued her and tightly hugged her from behind. She quickly untied her hand and push off him away from her, but it was too tight. What?! Did he expect her to be carried away by his cries?! No way. She hardened her heart and looked into his pain-filled eyes as it faced him, emotionless.
"Enough," she said emphatically.
"No," he responded quickly. "Injure me. Smack me. Puncture me. Please sue me! Everything! Do whatever makes you happy, but I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to stop because I love you, Abhaya."
Love? Love! That's bullshit! Where was it when she needed it and was looking for him? What happened to it while she was chasing him? Where was that when she was so fond of him?
"Leave my life and never show up again before I hate you even more. Forget about me," she tried to reassure herself. After all, she's exhausted. Exhausted.
