Numb, sore, and death are the things I'm feeling right now.

My eyes slowly open and tries adjusting to the bright light shining through the window. I turn aside about to get out of bed only to find a fresh jug of water and breakfast on my nightstand.

Feeling thirsty I pour a glass of water and gulp it in one go. Ignoring the pain in my back I push myself to stand up making my way to the bathroom.

My reflection in the room was a mess "you look wreck like a train ran over you" Eliz laughs in my head. I ignore her, "and so do you," I retorted.

My eyes trail my reflection until it rests on the bandage around my arm which brings back memories of why I'm in pain, and what did shock me. So I took another deep breath in then out, trying to relax.

"you know he saves us" I talk to Eliz

"No" she retorted.

"Eliz" she growls at me refusing to listen "don't Elle," I shook my head "he deserves a thank you at least" she shut out our links with one another.

I took a shower before changing into a pair of skinny jeans, a black tee with a denim jacket to warm myself.

There was no one in the living room when I arrived downstairs then I heard voices from the office. I knock on it nervously before wiping away the sweat on my hands and opening it. No one speaks when they saw me in the doorway, I closed it behind me.

"you're up" Conrad stood up from his chair

"yeah"

"you shouldn't be in here" Eric looks at me sternly.

Feeling ashamed since he was right I mean I'm not an Alpha or luna or beta, I pressed my lips together

"I'm sorry I'll just wait outside" and I didn't think twice because I open it again and burst outside closing the door behind me my eyes hot with tears. The meeting prolongs a little but I still wait. Once I hear the door open I lower my head. My eyes watched footsteps passing by me, then a pair of el paso's Brown Derby.

"Glad you're awake" I turn up to find Jay smiling at me,

"you lie to me" he removed his hands from my shoulder.

"You said Zues is your Alpha," rubbing his neck he replies "he is" my eyebrow knitted in confusion.

"I don't have one Alpha, Elle. Aaron is also mine Alpha but Zues is my cousin and he trusted me to look after his Pack's affairs," I stood there speechless.

"I'm sorry for not telling you but he made me swear not to," I gave him a hug "thank you" he smiled.

"I have to talk to him so I'll see you around" he gave me one last hug before walking to the door.

I knock again on the door before re-entering the office.

"Alpha Aaron," he still doesn't look around. I walk closer to him and stand one meter from him.

"Alpha Aaron" I saw him clenching his fist "what do you want Elle" I took another step closer touching his shoulder. He turns to face me, I don't know what came up to me but I tiptoe and kiss him on the cheek before he could react

"thank you," I say.

He doesn't speak

"thank you for not killing me on that day when I disrespect you for crossing your territory, thank you for saving me from the hunters, and thank you for saving me again from the Rogues." I sincerely told him.

I felt my emotions swirling now "I know I owe you so much and I know you promise Josh to protect me but I want to go home now"

That decision was last minute when I just realized everything else. I needed to stop hiding and get involved with these two packs, Aaron and Eric's one. I think I need to go somewhere away from here and from everything that has been happening.

"The hunters are still out there" he didn't finish as I pressed my finger to his lips hushing him up. It's funny how I dare to interact with him in such away. Maybe because with him I always feel comfortable and I've been close to him throughout this whole month.

"They're after the witch now" he removes my finger "they wanted the witch because they want to break the barriers to kill you, Jay, and others."

Smiling at him "danger is everywhere and your top priority now is to protect Jea. So please grant me this one favor. Let me go back home" he didn't answer

"thank you again, Aaron"

I walk back to go pack my stuff, but his voice stopped me

"I didn't save you, I wasn't the one who did it," I turn to find him looking at me, this time our eyes held each other gaze, I smile at him

"don't lie to me, Aaron"

With that being said I left him there and went back to my room to start packing my clothes.
