Chapter 60: Chapter 60

ONE WEEK LATER

MRS WALTON POV

It’s been a week since Richard and I, with the rest of the kids' parents, planned to set a trip for them to spend some time together.

The trip was to make Andrew and Tia get to have their honeymoon since they didn’t get the moment to have one. I believe this is the best time for them while Mike and Katie can get to spend more quality time with each other before their engagement party.

I will make sure their engagement party becomes memorable and one of the best in town. I wish Andrew and Tia could have a real wedding that will be the talk of the town as well.

“Sarah, have you informed Andrew about the trip?” Mike’s mom Jasmine asked, joining me in the kitchen.

“Not yet. I want them to come over for breakfast so I can tell them. Have you told Mike about it?”

“I haven’t. I wanted to hear from you but since you’re inviting Andrew and Tia then I guess I should also tell Mike and Katie to come over so we can tell them or what do you think?”

“That’s perfect! Help me, let's finish up with breakfast.”

“Sure Sarah but where are maids in charge of making the dishes?”

“I gave them some free time today. Enough with the questions and help me out.”

“Alright Sarah.” She smiled and joined me in chopping off the cauliflower while I carried out other stuff.

We were all seated on the dining table with Andrew, Tia, Katie and Mike having breakfast which was the perfect moment to make the announcement.

I gently tapped Jasmine to make the announcement to them just like we had talked about.

“Err… Kids, I have an announcement to make.”

“Mom, we ain’t kids anymore.” Mike blew out.

“Whatever, baby I just feel nervous when making announcements.” She said with a chuckle which shows she doesn’t know how to put the words to them.

“Oh Jasmine, you should have told me in the first place. So, listen up darlings. We parents have made a decision for you guys which is the best one for you all.”

“What decision mom?” Andrew questioned.

“Calm down my fierce lion. We parents can’t make a bad decision for our kids so wait and listen to what decision we decide for you guys.”

“Sorry mom! So, what’s the decision all about?”

“We planned a week trip for you guys in New York to spend some quality time with your partners while we parents handle the new love birds engagement party before your return.”

“Wait, you all suggested that for us?” Andrew asked with utmost surprise.

“Yes baby. You’re all free to have the best moments of your life. We’re expecting our grandchildren soon, darling. I’m sure you know what I mean, son?” I smirked.

“I don’t know what you mean.” He responded with a grin while Mike got up and rushed towards me.

“You’re the best, aunt.”

“I love you too, my darling nephew. Your uncle is staring at us and I’m sure you know why?” I replied, as Mike pulled away in a rush.

“I’m sorry uncle. I got too excited but I promise it won’t happen again.”

“I guess I will have to write no boundary on her forehead just to let you know she’s taken.” He suggested as we all burst out in laughter.

TIA POV

After breakfast with the family, Andrew pulled me to his bedroom for us to have a little time together before we proceed on the trip.

“Are you ready for the trip, my love?” He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist while I was on his lap.

“Yes, I’m really surprised our parents came up with such a great plan for us.”

“I’m also surprised, my love.”

“We can get to use this moment for our honeymoon since we didn’t get the chance to go on any.”

“I know, my love and it’s my mistake for not showing up on the wedding night but I will make the best of it for us on this trip.”

“No darling. It’s not your fault. Do you remember you always say, I should forget the past and embrace the present. So, please don’t blame yourself for anything, okay?” I said confidently, caressing his handsome face.

“I’m proud to have you as my wife. Not all women get to motivate their husbands like you to me. I haven’t seen anyone like you and I’m so glad you’re of special creation.”

“Why are you this sweet, darling?”

“It’s all because of you, sunshine.” He confessed and tried to kiss me when Katie opened the door as we both pulled away from each other.

“I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to burst in like that. You guys can carry on with what I interrupted. I can always come back when you guys are done.” She apologized, trying to shut the door when Andrew stopped her.

“You don’t have to leave. We’re done anyway. I will leave you both to talk.”

“I can always come back, you know?”

“No, it's fine.” He affirmed and winked at me before leaving the room while Katie walked to join on the bed.

**

Katie and I were having a discussion when his mom showed up at the door with two boxes in her hands.

“Let me help you with that mom.” I said and rushed to help her with the boxes.

“Thanks darling.” She smiled as we both joined Katie on the bed.

“No problem, mom.” I beamed and dropped the boxes on the bed before we both took a seat on the bed.

“The men are anxiously waiting for you girls but before we guys leave for the trip I got you both a little present.”

“Aunt, you’re really full of surprises.” Katie said, jokingly.

“Don’t mind me, darling. Anyways, I got you both this little present.” She said and pulled the two boxes close to her and handed the first box to me before giving the second one to Katie.

“Go on, each one of you can open your present.” She urged us as Katie and I opened the box to see the same design of dress but different colors.

It was a beautiful ball dress with flowers around it. Mine was purple while Katie’s own was red, her favorite color.

“How did you both see the dress?”

“It’s so beautiful aunt.” Katie said, taking out the dress from the box.

“I love it mom. Thanks for this. It’s going to look great for a party or dinner date.”

“It’s actually for the party the hotel is organizing today for couples.”

“Really?” Katie asked.

“Yes sweetie. I’m sure you both are going to look beautiful and charming in the dress.”

“Thanks a lot, aunt. You’re indeed the best.”

“You’re both welcome, my angels.” She smiled and gestured to us for a hug which we couldn’t refuse.

After having a little chat with Andrew’s mom we all left for the mansion to get prepared for the trip in New York.
