Chapter 96: Chapter 96

He took me to the top of a hill away from any noises. And he faced me first without a word as he formed the word in his tongue. "... We're leaving Plandreas... as punishment for the havoc I caused with the werewolves here, and also my father was involved.

“The court had justified that silver wolves are dangerous and must not intermingle with other breeds anymore. We will be exiled... to somewhere far away. All silver wolves both young and old. That was the decision of the court. I came home to see you and... take the twins before we leave."

I untied my hair and tweaked myself silently but with a loud sigh. "You're leaving me? alone?"

"It's not my will."

"But you let them— You can't allow this to happen..."

"I don't want chaos anymore, my dear. I... It's the best choice for the sake of the kids."

"But what about us?" I'm looking straight into his eyes, looking for words that will enlighten my chest. Looking back on the times I struggled to overcome the hindrances of my dream, this news utterly devastates me. However, his charming eyes have no signs of hope at all.

"... This is all my fault."

"Don't tell me I'm the only one fighting for us."

He shook his head. "Of course, not! This doesn't mean I'm letting you go but we can't stay together until this sentence is lifted. And you can't leave the werewolves now that you've made the commitment with the Moon Goddess."

"That one doesn't mean I'm turning my back on you!"

"I know. Yes, we are important to you... and the werewolves are important to you too. But you can't choose both of us in this case. I had harmed the Vengeance pack. Sr. Amos accepted his penalty and I should, too. We are not protected in Plandreas or nearby it anymore. The palace will soon legalize hunting silver wolves. So you have to let us go if you don't want us to perish."

"Do you think I can live far away from you and the twins?"

"No... because I don't think I can spend the rest of my years without seeing you. But we can't stay here... and can't leave. My father had predicted this but we made the choice together. There's no way out of the consequences. Maybe... it's too early for us."

I stamped my foot. "But this is so unfair!! Why would the Moon Goddess allow this!?" I faced down—my hair surrounded my face—after that yell. "I'm tired... I've been through so many obstacles and shortcomings slamming at my face... but was it not over yet? How many battles do I have to win? Because honestly... I'm exhausted, I never wanted to fight any longer." I couldn't refrain from the unsteadiness of my voice and my hands caught the tears on my face.

"Dan." He tucks my hair behind my ears and cups my cheeks in his big but gentle hands to make me look in his eyes. "It’s tiresome because you think you're alone. It's not just your battle. But we don't have to fight this anymore. We don't have to overstrain ourselves down to our knees of despondency this time. We'll just have to come along with the flow instead of going against it."

He takes my left hand and surprises me with an engagement ring! He put it on my ring finger and kissed my fingers. My lips were left partially hanging. He continues,

"I know my plans suck ofttimes. This is all I could think of. You have found favor in the sight of the goddess. Only the Moon Goddess can redeem us now. You are committed to creating the world for her children and that doesn't exclude silver wolves. Once that world is complete, we could request her to acquit your family and change the fate of silver wolves starting from us. Until then, we will see each other again... and get married. I will wait for you to find your way back to me again, my dear."

Never have I felt my heart beat vigorously as the effects of his words to me at the moment. The floating fireflies afar illuminated lighter that flash his face perfectly. There in his crystalline eyes, I see the romance which I can fall hard with. I just found myself speechlessly staring at him until he stoops down to listen to my chest.

"I can hear it~!"

"Shoosh!" I pushed his face away! The embarrassment is burning my face! He pulled my arms and them wrapped around his waist, then he embraced me to his chest.

"You may hear it, too," he permits.

I can almost hear his heartbeat speaking to me. I flattened my palms onto his chest and listened to it carefully, smiling. I want to keep this heart. I want to hear it like this again because of me. "I promise... I will never stop convincing the moon to redeem you one day."

"We."

"Hm, together." We cuddled some more with the silence of the loneliness that will separate us and lips imprinted with the joy of hope. My world-building will be my toughest job, and I wanted Hessuel's shoulder to be there whenever I needed rest, or to refresh my mind by playing with Hedwelch and Danteleon. I should've known that I'll never get a chance to watch them grow from infancy.

"Leave the twins to me," he assures. "I'll take care of them and tell them they have an amazing fur mom~"

I laughed gently. "Now I'm relieved my twins are with their hero, the fear of all werewolves."

"We'll see what they'll learn from me," he said sarcastically. I guess the new issue is solved but the burden remains. Our little love teases made us take a break from the endless trials of life. That's what it means to live.

Afterward, I came back alone in Haiban's office and found him jotting down in his journal. I leaned my butt on the edge of the wooden table a step away from him.

"Is everything clear to you now?" he initiates.

"You're right, father. The werewolves we brought upon their salvation are the same werewolves who will separate us. Are you coming with Hessuel?"

"No. You know I will not last a month or two. I am sentenced to leave this body which is similar to my second death. Other than that, Moon Goddess wants me to help you create the world."

"You will?"

"No," he replies, and my shoulders are dragged down. "I told you that only immortals can last longer in world creation. All I can do is teach you everything I know and leave the rest to you before I leave this vessel."

"I'm looking forward to that."

"You can ask Afvshaganifs to help you. You're both immortals."

I folded my arms. "Uh, I'd rather get blind in a day than to meet him again."

"Why? Did you have an argument? Or a bad past?"

"A bad future, I guess. He's my suspect in the torn pages of your records. I don't want my mate to hear this. He told me the opposite things in the future you told me today."

"We thought the same." He closes his journal and keeps it inside the drawer. "Captain Afvshaganifs is the only friend I talked to about my whole plans. I never thought he'd find interest in werewolves one day. What do you think was his purpose?"

I suddenly imagined his dirty face lusting over my body! "Whatever it was, I won't let him lay a finger on my mate nor my twins."

He laughs at my threat. "My son must've found that attitude attractive in you~! I am impressed with your love for each other. It reminds me of my love too… the way I look at her eyes, the way she smiles, and witness her stand for what she was fighting for. Love is such a beautiful thing when pure and true." He touches me on my shoulders. "I'm glad my son found it in you. And I’m glad that it’s you who’re meant for him. Because of you, I wouldn’t have to stain my hands with the blood of my only son. Thanks to you… I’m saved."

I turned back a smile on him and gave him a hug. He's tapping my back and I loved it. I’ve only seen my father but never felt him as my father. And I think I know how it feels to have a father now.

My hands were heavy when I helped Hessuel pack the things he'll need and my babies. I told him so many times not to feed them cow's milk or dog food. There are mini shops in this city that merchandise the werewolf supplies, too. Through the help of my enchantment, I made two feeding bottles that contain unlimited milk good for werewolf pups from the shop. I also bought a new coat for Hessuel and prepared food although it's already midnight, but probably the last time with him for the next unknown years.

"We're going back to Small Vil. first to mortgage Uncle Cor's lot. The money would be enough to start over. I'm coming with Sr. Amos too, assigned werewolves under Gamma Tanya will accompany us."

I nodded. "Do what you must," I said in a woebegone tone. And he noticed it right away. He keeps his eyes locked on me and I communicate the same way. "I'm gonna miss you," we said at the same time. He pulled my waist and made our lips meet. I touched his cheek, pulling his head into my face and he's pulling me more to his body. Lost in the mixed emotions with our hot rubbing and pressing kisses.

I'm gonna miss this. I'm going to miss his kisses. I slid my hand down to his arm with my bite mark and squeezed it. He pressed me to the wall and it's luring me when I'm cornered around his arms. We halted for a second to stare at each other's vitalized eyes of our wolves. He found my tears and I bit my lip to stupidly pull them back. "Dan... don't think about what's next. Think about this present... not the past, not the penalty, just us tonight."

"But we're doing this as our language of goodbye! I can't..."

He wiped my tears and kissed me intensely, dominating and passionate, making me weak with every stroke of his lips. He lifted me to my room and laid me under him on my bed. I could sense my overpowering pleasure to be subdued by him... and I love it, I will miss it. He tickled my wrist until he held my left hand without cutting our kisses. He's leaning all his weight on me, completely immobilizing me.

I used my claws to remove his coat. "Take it off. I want to touch your heat," I whispered. He quickly removed his upper clothes and he took off my clothes as well. I'm slipping the tips of my fingers on his back skin, making the most of it. His hand holding the other, his other hand squeezing my waist lights up my excitement, and slowly rubbing down to my hip and thigh makes my heart race uncontrollably; I might die looking for this tomorrow.

I made the most of it. Smelling his hair while tickling my neck with his kisses. But tonight was all about kisses. I couldn't count the times our lips met. He falls asleep on top of me, sticking his nose to my neck. My bite mark might kill me in craving for this kind of night tomorrow. These are the times I need the twist towards the way in favor of me.

I took them to the train station. I showered Hedwelch and Danteleon with my kisses, both of them are wearing fur clothes which made them extremely adorable! A definite image that I will miss. "I love you," Hessuel said after a peck of a kiss.

"Please take care. I love you..." And I hugged him one last time. It's stabbing me in my chest watching my boys leave me. It's making my breathing heavy by watching them leave without me. But I stayed until the train reached far from my sight.

I wiped my tears, sat down beside my golden retriever, and said to her, "It's for the best. I promise I will finish my commitment to the werewolves and bring them back. The faster I do it, the shorter our distance will be."

And she barks with her tail waggling.

I didn't waste time and started planning the world. Haiban taught me without mercy the severity of creation! The Moon Goddess's prophecy about the threat of humans remains on the march. I summoned Lanasia and Zaeramil to the public library to brainwash the humans that werewolves are fiction.

We created books wherein we recorded the history of werewolves; their existence, the war between packs, the silver wolves, and the festival. It is stated to be the legend of such fiction. This is the beginning of werewolf fiction which resulted in multiple werewolf fiction in the future of humanity. The legend of werewolves... but no, the word is overused.

"The Legend of Woof-Woof!" I suggested for the book title.

"Seriously?" Zaeramil reacts.

"That sounds unusual. But why?" Lanasia asks.

I answered, "That will surely reach my descendant."

To be continued.
