Chapter 212: Chapter 212
Chapter 212: “Catastrophe”
The Tomorrow Alliance unexpectedly discovered a city belonging to the Blood Clan Civilization.
It was a Swordfish Mini Submarine dispatched by Li Ye that made this discovery.
According to the submarine pilot’s report, the city wasn’t large, and a massive semi-circular dome was built over its outer shell.
That dome was clearly meant to shield the city from sunlight during the day.
Li Ye immediately gathered his companions to discuss how to attack.
“Sigh, even a Level 3 Monstrous Civilization can build a city now, and it actually looks rather decent,” Zhou Xing sighed. “At this rate, higher-level Monstrous Civilizations might even be able to build entire nations!”
Li Ye nodded slightly.
That was indeed possible.
He was actually quite curious about how vampires lived within their cities.
But more than curiosity, something else piqued his interest.
It was daytime now—if he blasted away the dome covering the city, wouldn’t something rather interesting happen?
Thinking of that, Li Ye couldn’t help but feel an eager excitement stir within him.
A city of this size must contain at least tens of thousands of vampires, and the loot from these Level 3 monsters would surely be extremely lucrative!
Upon learning that the island was only three hours away from the Tomorrow Alliance’s position, he immediately made a decision.
“Let’s move out—we’ll launch a surprise attack on that city!”
Three hours later, the Tomorrow Alliance arrived near the island.
To avoid being detected, Li Ye ordered all Mobile Cities to activate City Camouflage.
Not only that, he had every city fitted with Level 3 Signal-jamming Devices—the “Silent Veil.”
Crafting this Level 3 item only required 300 units of Level 3 Iron Ore, though the blueprint itself was rather pricey—costing a full 150,000 Crystal Coins.
The combination of Level 3 City Camouflage and Level 3 Signal-jamming Devices turned the Tomorrow Alliance into an untraceable ghost drifting over the vast ocean.
As always, Li Ye stationed the Special Forces and the Bullfrog Vehicles aboard the Stellar.
The Blood Clan Civilization had not deployed defensive forces on the island; instead, it relied on Level 3 naval fleets patrolling its surrounding seas and islands.
On their way to the island, the Tomorrow Alliance encountered one such Level 3 Vampire Fleet.
Destroyers, cruisers, missile ships—
the fleet’s configuration was complete.
On the decks, the vampire crew wore suits resembling astronaut uniforms, their helmets jet-black and reflecting the sunlight.
“Is that… some sort of sunlight-resistant suit?” Li Ye muttered, a flicker of confusion in his eyes.
Apparently, sunlight—their greatest weakness—did not necessarily prevent vampires from fighting during the day.
It seemed that as long as the cockpits were protected against sunlight, their fighter jets could still operate in daylight.
“Alliance Leader, the Peacemaker has its cannons ready and can begin bombardment at any time,” Yang Zheng’s voice came through the walkie-talkie.
“Use the Electromagnetic Railgun directly—blast the dome apart,” Li Ye ordered.
As the Electromagnetic Railgun activated, blue-white arcs coiled tightly along the barrel, and a blinding flare burst forth from the rail’s end.
A thunderous sonic boom and shrill whine tore through the air as the projectile broke the sound barrier, spewing waves of scorching air along its path.
The instant the shell struck the city’s dome, its kinetic energy exploded into destructive force—an overwhelming impact burst open at the point of contact.
Cracks spread across the dome like spiderwebs before it violently shattered and collapsed.
Heat and shockwaves surged through the entire structure; the supporting metal frame twisted and broke with an ear-piercing metallic wail, and huge curved panels cascaded down like a fiery rainstorm.
In mere seconds, the enormous dome that had sheltered the city was reduced to warped steel remains. Burning fragments fell from the sky, crashing heavily into the city below.
Moments later, beams of warm sunlight flooded across the entire city.
Sirens blared throughout—it was clear that the vampires had triggered an emergency alert.
At that moment, Li Ye deeply grasped the meaning of that phrase.
Considering that the city was likely thrown into chaos and countless vampires had probably been burned to ashes, he immediately ordered the Special Forces to deploy.
Once the Stellar approached the coastline, the Bullfrog Vehicles on its deck began operation, launching each member of the Special Forces toward the city.
Soon, the units had infiltrated the Vampire City.
“What’s the interior of that Monstrous City like?” Li Ye asked at once.
That was what intrigued him the most.
According to the reports from the Special Forces, the inner architecture of the Vampire City was entirely classical in style.
At the moment the dome shattered, countless vampires exposed to sunlight were instantly reduced to ash.
Now, every corner of the city was strewn with Level 3 resources, finished goods, blueprints, and Crystal Coins.
The surviving vampire residents had quickly taken shelter inside buildings and underground facilities.
“Leave the Crystal Coins and Iron Ore for later,” Li Ye said. “Prioritize collecting Blueprints, Promotion Blueprints, and Energy-saving Blueprints!”
He did wish to claim all the resources in one sweep—but as the city was already destroyed, the Blood Clan Civilization would surely receive news soon. Their Aerial Forces and Mobile City Combat Clusters were no doubt already en route.
If he got too greedy, trouble would surely follow!
To his surprise, there were stationed vampire soldiers in the city.
Like those aboard the fleet, they wore thick sunlight-resistant suits and engaged the Special Forces in fierce gunfire.
Since the Blood Clan Civilization could send reinforcements—and the number of those forces was unknown—Li Ye saw no need for prolonged combat.
After a brief exchange, he ordered the Special Forces to retreat.
Upon receiving the command, the troops activated their Jetpacks, accelerating rapidly as they withdrew.
To their astonishment, the vampire soldiers also leapt high into the air—tens of meters in a single bound—almost like superhumans.
After a short firefight, the Special Forces used their Spirit Fox Camouflage Combat Uniforms to conceal themselves and retreat one by one.
To hasten recovery, Li Ye deployed Black Hawk Helicopters to swiftly extract the teams.
With excitement, he examined the loot the Special Forces had brought back.
Level 3 Aerial Refueling Aircraft Blueprint, Level 3 Bulletproof Vest Blueprint, Level 3 Parachute Blueprint, Level 3 Vehicle Upgrade Blueprint…
As he reviewed them, he nodded repeatedly. Overall, the harvest this time was quite bountiful.
However, he couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed that the Level 3 Flying Vehicle Blueprint turned out to be for an Aerial Refueling Aircraft.
The Tomorrow already had a functional aircraft of that type—the C-5M Super Galaxy Military Transport Aircraft.
Looking at the blueprint before him, he shook his head lightly.
“If we can’t seize air superiority, no amount of transport aircraft will matter.”
But after some thought, a hint of realization appeared in his eyes.
The Tomorrow’s aerial combat force seemed nearly complete now—
Fighter jets, helicopters, bombers, transport aircraft, reconnaissance planes, aerial refueling aircraft, gunships…
And with the addition of light machine-gun components, even drones could now participate in combat.
At present, the Tomorrow could fully develop its Aerial Forces as its main strategic direction.
Once the Aerial Forces grew strong enough, even a weaker Land and Naval Force wouldn’t be a major issue.
They could even use air strikes to capture cities and fortresses of Monstrous Civilizations, achieving the goal of sustaining war through conquest.
After a quick calculation, Li Ye concluded that what the Aerial Force still lacked were:
—Ground-attack aircraft for close-range air support.
—Electronic warfare aircraft for interference, reconnaissance, and anti-radar missions.
—Airborne early-warning aircraft for radar surveillance and battlefield command.
As he tallied the list, Li Ye’s brow furrowed once more.
The Blood Clan Civilization—a formidable obstacle standing right before the Tomorrow Alliance.
If not for this Level 3 Monstrous Civilization, the Tomorrow Alliance could have easily wiped out all Level 2 Monstrous Civilizations across the ocean using bomber formations, completely destroying the chain of monster islands.
“Forget it. Better not overthink—let’s just keep fighting guerrilla battles at sea.”
In the following days, Li Ye launched successive attacks against several Level 2 Monstrous Civilizations.
In a sense, those Level 2 Monstrous Civilizations had become the Tomorrow Alliance’s refueling treasures.
Level 2 monsters dropped valuable resources—
the wreckage of destroyed land, sea, and air vehicles, along with the remains of Mobile Cities—
and the stockpiled supplies within fortresses.
The wars were of low difficulty and yielded great rewards, much to the Tomorrow Alliance’s delight.
By inputting the blueprints, Li Ye produced a batch of Level 3 Bulletproof Vests.
At this point, the Special Forces had grown increasingly well-equipped and formidable.
As for the Level 3 Vehicle Upgrade Blueprint, after much deliberation, Li Ye decided to upgrade the Bullfrog Vehicles.
Upon completion, the vehicles’ aiming precision and water-travel speed were further enhanced.
Their CC98 Thunder-cannon Infantry Deployment System’s range was also increased from the original one kilometer to five kilometers—though Li Ye had always harbored concerns about the system’s safety, the Special Forces members seemed to thoroughly enjoy using it.
After upgrading to Level 3 vehicles, the Bullfrog Vehicles’ anti-air firepower was also significantly strengthened.
Over the ensuing period, the Tomorrow Alliance continued to launch repeated assaults across the Taranis Ocean, destroying multiple islands garrisoned by Level 2 Monstrous Civilizations and cities belonging to the Blood Clan Civilization.
Every battle was executed swiftly and decisively; after gathering the loot, the Tomorrow Alliance immediately activated City Camouflage and vanished without a trace.
During this campaign, they harvested an overwhelming abundance of resources—it was almost obscenely profitable.
They acquired countless Level 1–2 blueprints, as well as resources such as coal, fabric, iron ore, and saltpeter, along with all sorts of finished weapons, equipment, Crystal Coins, and metals.
Among the blueprints were those for ordinary Parks, Office Buildings, Libraries, and Apartments.
As for crop seeds, they found Level 1 Garlic, Level 1 Mushroom, Level 1 Strawberry, Level 1 Pea, Level 1 Carrot, Level 2 Green Onion, and Level 2 Watermelon, among others.
What delighted Li Ye the most was that he had indeed obtained a Level 2 City Crystal.
Through drops from vampire residents, Li Ye also gained another batch of Level 3 resources and blueprints.
Among the most important were the Level 3 Flashbang, Level 3 Drone Engineering Components, Level 3 Electronic Warfare Aircraft, and Level 3 Heavy Tank.
【Item Name: “Torrent” Heavy Tank】
【Bonus Effects: 1. Shell Armor-piercing Damage +35% 2. Defense +40%】
【Crafting Requirements: 400 units of Level 3 Iron Ore, 100 units of Level 3 Precision Land Vehicle Components】
【Dual 140mm ETC Smoothbore Cannons】
【12.7mm Coaxial Machine Gun】
【40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher】
【Close-in Laser Defense System】
“Not bad, not bad.” Li Ye nodded repeatedly.
In the realm of Level 3 ground warfare, heavy tanks were considered the overlords of the land.
The Tomorrow’s land-combat forces had been further strengthened.
The only drawback was that constructing a Torrent Tank was rather expensive.
Next, he examined the Electronic Warfare Aircraft Blueprint.
【Item Name: “Webweaver” Electronic Warfare Aircraft】
【Bonus Effects: 1. Jamming Range +25% 2. Jamming Capability +30% 3. Lock-on Probability -15%】
【Crafting Requirements: 250 units of Level 3 Iron Ore, 75 units of Level 3 Precision Flying Vehicle Components】
It was equipped with jamming pods, detection systems, anti-radiation missiles, and other advanced configurations.
As Li Ye read through the blueprint, a glint of surprise flashed across his eyes.
With this, the Tomorrow Alliance now possessed Electronic Warfare capability.
Electronic warfare was considered an invisible battlefield in modern combat—its goal was to control, interfere with, deceive, or destroy the enemy’s electronic systems to seize informational superiority.
Simply put, it rendered the enemy’s perception useless, turning them into “the deaf and the blind.”
The main role of Electronic Warfare Aircraft was to suppress enemy air-defense systems, disrupt their communications and command networks, conduct electronic reconnaissance, and provide situational awareness.
The event that left the deepest impression on Li Ye was the Gulf War.
Aside from these, what caught his interest next was the Drone Engineering Components Blueprint.
“Engineering components, huh?” he murmured to himself.
According to the blueprint, once equipped with engineering components, drones could construct fortifications and buildings.
Naturally, this was perfectly suited for Engineering-type Cities.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Xing became instantly excited.
Li Ye immediately produced one hundred General-purpose Drones and the corresponding Engineering Components in the Production Workshop, delivering them all to Zhou Xing.
“If you think that’s not enough, come back for more,” he reminded.
Earlier, the Tomorrow Alliance had also clashed with a Blood Clan Civilization Mobile City Combat Cluster.
But soon, Li Ye realized something crucial.
The Tomorrow Alliance had no need to engage the Blood Clan Civilization head-on; they only needed to keep raiding its densely populated islands to secure loot.
This approach was not only safer but also highly rewarding.
Given that vampires feared sunlight, he decided to operate exclusively during the day.
This tactic frustrated the Blood Clan Civilization to no end.
After wreaking havoc across the Taranis Ocean for quite some time, Li Ye looked upon the mountain of loot and came to a realization—
The Tomorrow Alliance now needed time to rest.
It wasn’t just the enormous pile of spoils that needed sorting—they also had to properly build their land, sea, and air combat divisions.
“So, where are we heading next?” Lin Wu asked.
After a moment of thought, Li Ye made his decision.
“We’ll head to the Western Wasteland Continent.”
There were two main reasons behind Li Ye’s decision.
First, the Tomorrow Alliance had been advancing northward from the south. By now, they were far from the Southern Continent and much closer to the Western Wasteland Continent.
Second, during this period, that Epic Intelligence had already refreshed.
