Born in the bay side of Water front, her father dead while on assignment in Rapid Falls, leaving her mother who suffers terribly in the hands of her second husband before dying. A lucky encounter sends her to Maffia Island in Zomaliland and a respectable job as manageress of a seaside hotel. Having created a future of her own, Imara is in her elements particularly when Thoundar is released from prison and joins her to manage the hotel. But a figure from her past days reappears to threaten her new found happiness and Imara discovers sadly that it's not possible to keep the past confined in the dust bin of history.
