Jing Jihan saw the phone she held up, and since the video was still connected to the company conference room, he didn’t speak but showed no sign of dissatisfaction. He merely gave Shi Su a gentle glance, clearly granting his tacit approval.

Shi Su quickly snapped a picture of her incredibly handsome husband’s back. Originally, she thought about retouching it, but Jing Jihan’s silhouette was just too perfect. The hazy lighting in the study and the way the light on the computer screen in front of him was blurred by the shooting method all added to the man’s already poised back, enhancing its mysterious and elite ambiance.

In the end, she couldn’t bring herself to retouch the photo at all. She directly posted it on Weibo without saying anything, just added a cute smiley face emoji.

Just as Shi Su sent out the Weibo post, Jing Jihan was still in a high-level video meeting on the other side. Though he wasn’t dressed in a suit for a direct company presence, regular work checks and reports proceeded as usual, not a hint of distraction affecting the meeting’s atmosphere.

Everyone conducted the meeting properly, but today, probably only half of them were truly listening. The other half was pondering; it sounded like they heard a woman’s voice from Mr. Jing’s side earlier, like someone they’ve seen on TV—the one Mr. Jing introduced publicly days ago as his wife, Shi Su.

Mr. Jing has always left an impression of being cold and aloof, distinctly separating work and personal life, never publicly displaying any personal matters. He never leaks any important personal information, making it hard to imagine how he genuinely dotes on his wife at home.

When Hui finally came knocking, it was already past ten in the morning. Shi Su had long woken up but felt so comfy lounging on the bed that she almost fell asleep again. She quickly got up to answer the door.

The door opened, and Hui smiled warmly, saying: "Mr. Jing just asked us to quickly prepare the little miss’s children’s room. It’s already ready now. Would you like to take a look, Mrs. Jing?"

Shi Su checked the time involuntarily: "We only returned last night, and now the children’s room is ready?"

Mianmian’s room is in the same villa as Jing Jihan’s bedroom, but on another floor. When the door was opened, inside was a cute new princess bed covered with newly bought dolls. Though the decorations and layout were still of an ordinary bedroom style, the pink princess bed and thick plush pink and white rug made it look especially childlike.

A new little backpack was also placed nearby, along with various kids’ clothes purchased simultaneously, for Mianmian’s convenience when staying with the Jing Family, she’d have clothes to change into.

Since learning the truth last night and waking up this morning, Mr. Jing couldn’t wait to pour all his love for his great-granddaughter into Mianmian. It’s only been a few hours, yet preparations seem thoroughly complete.

She thought she could calmly adapt to everything in front of her, but seeing a carefully carved door plaque with little pink flowers, and the words "Mianmian’s Cozy Room" made her smile till her eyes grew warm.

That little rascal Mianmian, who stuck by her since birth, from being a tiny child living with her in the United States, to where she now finally has a proper family, with so many people to love and cherish her.

Shi Su never truly complained about her fate, and now, she’s even more grateful that fate led her to meet Jing Jihan.

"Shadow Kill" has yet to wrap filming, but many key scenes need reshoots recently. For post-production to timely release promotional teasers with perfect results, most required shots pose a certain degree of difficulty, with the addition of effects.

When Shi Su went back to the crew for reshoots, her fellow actors constantly glanced her way.

Despite her publicly revealed identity as Mrs. Jing, she surprisingly sat in the studio’s business car to the set, and the next day drove herself in an old Audi that’s been around for years. Though low-key and modest, those actresses who had earlier run into minor conflicts in the makeup room couldn’t avoid speculating behind her back.

They suspected Shi Su might have signed some prenuptial agreement before marrying into the Jing Family. Although she’s nominally Mrs. Jing, perhaps the family never intended to formally welcome her, marrying solely for the child’s sake.
