Chapter 425: Chapter 425 - 419: Mr. Jing Doesn’t Like Noodles

Shi Su said they would meet in the evening, but she hadn’t left Yu Jing Group by noon.

Jing Jihan asked her, "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"

"I’m not eating. My agent and the others are still waiting in the car downstairs." Saying this, she walked out of the office and called Chu Jiu.

Once connected, she asked if they were hungry and if they wanted to eat something nearby.

Chu Jiu: "We just finished eating. Miss Chen treated us. We thought you’d eat with Mr. Jing, so we didn’t wait for you!"

Shi Su paused, hesitated for a moment, and then returned to the president’s office.

Jing Jihan heard her footsteps returning and glanced back at her.

The young woman held a hat in her hand but hadn’t put it on. Her long hair casually swept over her back, and her eyes darted in his direction. It was clear she was trying to adapt to this new marriage relationship.

For the first time after two years, Shi Su made an active suggestion: "They’re done eating; let’s eat."

After speaking, she glanced at the time on her phone, "But it’s already half-past twelve. I remember you’re always busy on Friday afternoons. You might not be able to spare the time to go out. No need to accompany me out to a restaurant. Let’s just eat in your company’s cafeteria."

She also wanted to try the Yu Jing Group’s employee meals. This publicly listed, multinational company employs almost exclusively top graduates. She heard their benefits are top-notch, and even their employee meals are on par with any outside restaurant. Rarely could she be here at noon, and she really wanted to try it.

It seemed that whenever she made a request herself, Jing Jihan would always fulfill it, whether two years ago or now.

When the two appeared in Yu Jing Group’s employee cafeteria, it was already close to 1 PM. Most of the company’s employees had finished lunch by twelve-thirty, left the cafeteria, and returned to their offices for a short rest. After 1 PM, the lunch break was over and work time resumed.

So there were only a few company executives dining, as most employees had already left.

Shi Su thought the cafeteria would feel like a university canteen, but she didn’t expect it to resemble a formal restaurant, though quite spacious. It could accommodate thousands dining at once, with long table areas and round table areas, and very comfortable seating, making it feel more high-end than formal restaurants upon entry.

The dining options included sections for served meals, buffet, Chinese cuisine, Western cuisine, and more, with a full range of choices.

Although the employees had finished eating by now, the time was when executives often dined, so the chefs had not yet left.

Noticing Mr. Jing dining in the employee cafeteria, along with Shi Su, who frequently appeared before the camera, people could easily recognize them. That morning their news had exploded on Weibo. So, even the usually busy chefs had heard the news, and witnessing this pair firsthand caused quite a stir.

Of course, the commotion wasn’t obvious, as Mr. Jing was right there. Everyone subtly exchanged curious and shocked glances.

Mr. Jing had just made his earth-shattering marriage news public, and here he was, bringing Mrs. Jing to the cafeteria. Were they coming down to earth, or was the Michelin restaurant nearby not good enough?

Jing Jihan had already gone to the buffet area, and the executives dining at nearby tables stood up respectfully, not expecting to see the big boss here. They repeatedly nodded and greeted Jing Jihan, "Hello, Mr. Jing."

"Hello."

Jing Jihan was the type of leader whose joy or anger showed rarely, always stern and sharp within the company. Although executives occasionally saw him in meeting rooms, they seldom had the chance to directly communicate with him. Their greetings were purely out of respect and manners, not expecting a response.

Yet Jing Jihan actually replied with a greeting.

He seemed to be in a good mood.

Seeing Mr. Jing accompanying Mrs. Jing to another area, the executives exchanged excited and nervous looks and sat back down, occasionally glancing in that direction.

Shi Su took a small tour around the cafeteria and finally went to the cooking area to get a bowl of freshly cooked beef rice noodles.

Then she noticed noodles nearby and turned back to ask Jing Jihan, "Do you want some noodles?"

Jing Jihan glanced over without speaking, taking only a sandwich and showing no intention of having noodles. Seeing she might have to wait here a bit longer, he turned towards the nearby coffee machine.

At this moment, the chef cooking noodles softly said, "Mrs. Jing, Mr. Jing doesn’t like noodles."

Though Mr. Jing rarely dined here, whenever he worked overtime, his assistant would come to place orders to send to the president’s office on the 68th floor. Hence, the chefs somewhat knew his dietary preferences, and it was widely known that he disliked noodles.

Shi Su looked at the chef upon hearing the address "Mrs. Jing" and was even more surprised by the statement she had just heard.

Jing Jihan doesn’t like noodles?

Then wasn’t he particularly fond of the simple, mild fried egg noodles she made?

Shi Su doubted but didn’t ask the chef further. When her noodles were done, she thanked the chef, carried her meal tray with the bowl of noodles, and turned to see that Jing Jihan had already come over, now with a cup of coffee in his hand.

The two of them found a nearby round table and sat down. Since they were already there, they did not deliberately avoid the other dining executives. After all, at this time, there weren’t many people in the employee cafeteria, with fewer than ten in total dining.

Shi Su took a bite of her noodles, and indeed, the taste was quite impressive. She glanced at Jing Jihan, who was evidently used to the company’s employee meals, and said, "It’s even better than the noodle shop below my residence. Your company’s cafeteria chefs must have been poached for their fame?"

"Perhaps, but that’s not an area I handle. If you’re really curious, you can ask Zhou He." Jing Jihan placed a fruit plate he had just taken in front of her.

Beside him was a cup of instant coffee he made casually, unlike the rich and expensive Blue Mountain coffee he usually drank in the office, showing he didn’t mind his choice in that setting.

After having a few more bites of noodles, Shi Su drank the noodle soup with a small spoon and occasionally glanced at Jing Jihan. Finally, she asked, "They say you dislike noodles, so why were you so fond of the noodles I used to make?"

Jing Jihan met her inquisitive eyes with an unintentional response, not avoiding, "Because you made them."

"Really?" Shi Su raised her eyebrows, "Then you seemed to enjoy the plain congee I made, which had no flavor. Was that also because I made it?"

"Of course," the man responded calmly, adding, "Even if you boiled plain water, it would taste good."

"........."

Initially, she intended to tease him, but somehow she ended up being romanced without realizing it.

Shi Su lowered her head to eat her noodles, pretending she hadn’t said anything earlier.
