Chapter 397: Chapter 397 - 391: Not Planning to Give Up the Sofa

Jing Jihan has always been noble and indifferent, never a man of many words.

He rarely shows extreme highs or lows in emotion, and even his words are always filled with responsibility and grace. To her, he has never said anything hurtful or harsh; he has always been gentle and accommodating.

This was the first time he metaphorically stabbed Shi Su in the heart.

For a moment, Shi Su panicked.

She was indeed suddenly flustered, perhaps because the pain in her neck was too intense, or maybe because the man’s gaze was so piercingly cold. She suddenly raised her hand, forcefully pulling his hand from behind her neck, shoving him forward and quickly stepping back.

The man instantly turned pale from the pain caused by her push and pull. Although he didn’t cry out, his face turned as white as paper, which stopped her from taking further steps backward.

"Um... Are you, are you okay?"

Seeing his pale face and indifferent look towards her, she hurriedly stepped back to him, reaching out to check his wound, but stopped her hand in mid-air on his shoulder, unable to lower it because of his extremely detached gaze.

However, she couldn’t help but see the wound on the man’s shoulder and back, already faintly seeping with some blood, though not much—just a few scattered spots.

She really had pushed too hard in her panic earlier.

How could she lose control of her emotions so easily?

Why was she so clumsy?

How did she become like this?

Shi Su quickly ran to find a medical kit. The family doctor had brought some emergency supplies for minor injuries and anti-inflammatory medicine. Even though it was quite a small medicine box, when she took it out, her hands were still in disarray as she rummaged through it for the longest time, only finding oral medication and a thermometer, unable to find what she most needed at the moment.

She searched more and more frantically, pouring all the medicines onto the table, bowing her head, and frantically rummaging with both hands.

Where did it go?

Those two large tubes of medicine were clearly in the medical kit. How could they just disappear?

Thinking about the wound on his shoulder, and how she had just pushed him so mercilessly, the blood seeping through his shirt.

She hung her head and suddenly raised her hand to slap herself.

A few minutes later, Shi Su finally found the medicine and ran out to apply it to Jing Jihan’s wound, which had started bleeding from her push. Although the wound hadn’t fully healed, luckily it was just the pushing and tugging that had affected it, not the forceful tearing open of the wound. While there were signs of blood on the surface of the wound, by the time she came to apply the medicine, the bleeding had already stopped. However, some had soaked through the shirt fabric, which looked rather alarming.

Stopping the bleeding and reducing inflammation were both done, and she helped him reapply the medical gauze to his wound, then went to find other clothes for him to wear.

Jing Jihan was cooperative throughout, clearly understanding her guilt and shame, not saying anything to worsen her sense of wrongdoing, but his pale eyes remained fixed on her face, which was enough for her to endure.

After changing clothes, when Shi Su helped him button his shirt, she didn’t button it all the way to the top this time. From the bottom to his collarbone, leaving two buttons undone to avoid a repeat of the earlier situation.

As she got up and stepped back, she glanced at the time: "It’s very late. I have to leave for the set at five tomorrow. You should go back to the bedroom to rest, I’ll borrow the sofa for the night."

The man occupied the sofa without moving, seeing her so exhausted and sleepy that even the corners of her eyes were flushed red, slightly raising his chin to point toward the bedroom: "You go to sleep."

Shi Su stood still: "I won’t sleep in your bedroom. Your sofa is very comfortable, I’ll sleep on the sofa."

The man obviously didn’t intend to give up the sofa.

It was already so late, there was no need to continue the back-and-forth here.

Shi Su looked at him a while longer, thought about it, then turned and went into the bedroom. But after sitting by the bed for a while, she still couldn’t lie down peacefully.

Less than five minutes later, she got a thin blanket from the cupboard and took it to the living room.

"You’re injured, go back to the bedroom to sleep. I already tried earlier. Given the current situation, even if the bed in your bedroom is more comfortable, I still won’t be able to sleep peacefully. Better to leave the sofa for me so I can have a solid sleep." She pointed at the time: "There are still more than three hours until I need to get up at five. I want to sleep quickly, so it won’t be difficult on the set tomorrow."

Jing Jihan saw her standing there with a blanket, her face full of determination. He looked at her for a little while longer before finally getting up.

Afraid that he might change his mind, Shi Su quickly moved over and sat down heavily on the wide sofa, then lay down and covered herself with the blanket.

She didn’t realize her right cheek was already slightly swollen, from the slap she gave herself.

Jing Jihan saw the red mark on that side of her face but didn’t say anything. Watching as Shi Su covered herself with the blanket and closed her eyes to sleep, he turned back to the bedroom.

Shi Su was truly exhausted today, after a day of filming, live streaming, and watching a movie, lasting until so late before sleep. She thought she might suffer from insomnia, but after Jing Jihan returned to his bedroom, leaving her all the space in the living room, within a minute she succumbed to the onset of sleepiness and fatigue, quickly falling asleep.

In her sleep, she vaguely felt a cool sensation on the right side of her face, and the air was filled with a refreshing mint scent. Shi Su comfortably turned over, hugging the blanket that had accidentally bunched up, thinking she was holding onto Mianmian, subconsciously bending her head to rest her chin on the blanket, and even rubbed it with her lips, as if kissing her little cherished one.

The bunched-up blanket in her arms wasn’t taken away, and a moment later, another blanket covered her.

At five in the morning, the city hadn’t fully awakened yet.

When Shi Su got up to wash, she felt the leftover minty ointment on her face, seeing her face now white and clear, without any traces.

After quickly washing up, with ten minutes left before leaving, she hurriedly made a simple breakfast and placed it on the dining table. She also cooked some porridge in the rice cooker, so when Jing Jihan rested and got up, he would have something to eat.

Then she rushed downstairs. Chu Jiu, who had received her message, was already parked at the entrance of Kaixing Mansion. But it was too early, and Chu Jiu had waited in the car for a while, yawning, when he saw Shi Su get in the car.

Shi Su was holding a piece of toast she had quickly made for herself and hadn’t had time to eat. She said, "Recently, have Hui come to Kaixing Mansion a few more times. I can’t take time off from the set these days."

Chu Jiu was surprised: "Aren’t you coming here recently?"

Shi Su lowered her head, biting into the toast, her hair falling past her eyes, obscuring the emotions there, and said, "Yeah, not coming."
