Chapter 372: Chapter 372 - 366: Jing Jihan Was Only Wearing...

Shi Su finally moved her gaze away from the newspaper, placed it down, picked up the utensils, and started eating the rice noodles.

Miss Chen glanced at her: "Why are you looking at the finance section? Are you really planning to stop being an artist and become an executive behind the scenes?"

"Even if I had such thoughts, I don’t have the capability right now, just a studio, after all. Those who can be named in such financial sections are beyond our reach, what does it have to do with whether or not I want to move behind the scenes?" Shi Su took a bite of the rice noodles and felt the taste was not bad.

"It indeed has nothing to do, but you were so engrossed just now."

After hearing Miss Chen’s words, Chu Jiu also leaned over to glance at the newspaper beside Shi Su’s hand, but it was already folded, and he couldn’t see what was on it, so he gave up.

Late September in Hong Kong was still in the sweltering summer, even the torrential rain couldn’t affect the oppressive heat.

The air conditioning was somewhat chilly, Jing Jihan was sitting by the window in a short-sleeved sweater, enjoying the view of the rain outside, all by himself.

This was claimed to be the best-view suite in the entire Hong Kong, where opening the patio door could capture the entirety of Victoria Harbour. Having stayed numerous times, he was already weary of the beautiful scenery, only this time, the torrential rain outside was pouring endlessly.

There were some movements on the computer screen in his hand; Qin Zhifeng, who had just returned from taking a phone call, glanced at her through the video lens on his end of the computer and checked his time, saying: "It’s past six in the morning now back home, why are you up so early?"

Jing Jihan’s cold gaze was fixed on the computer screen: "Biological clock, just used to it."

Qin Zhifeng sneered softly: "There must be some reason for the insomnia."

Jing Jihan didn’t say much, only asked: "What does the email your assistant sent me last night mean?"

"The case from seven years ago that you accompanied in tracking has seen some progress." Qin Zhifeng’s expression turned serious, his voice solemn and serene: "Meng Lide’s escape route has been discovered. This case, after all, involves you; you were also at the explosion site back then. According to the current tracking situation, Daen’s final escape location should be pinpointed soon."

Jing Jihan opened the mail he received last night on his computer simultaneously, looked at the satellite tracking route inside, pondered for a long while without speaking.

"When are you planning to head back to the United States?" The man’s voice on the other side of the computer was leisurely and soft, without any urgency discernible.

Jing Jihan’s cold brow slightly eased in front of the computer screen, and after a moment, he finally spoke: "Depends on the situation."

The doorbell rang; it was the hotel staff delivering the exclusive breakfast for the suite. Jing Jihan cut off the video, tossed the computer aside, and got up to answer the door.

Passing by the fabric sofa a short distance from the door, the spare room card thrown on the round side table next to the sofa last night was still there. His gaze lingered on that room card for just a moment—a mere moment—and then he averted his gaze and directly walked past.

After having breakfast, Shi Su was just about to return to the room with Miss Chen and Chu Jiu to while away the day in boredom at the hotel.

Chu Jiu was planning to team up with Miss Chen to play cards on their phones once in the room later, inviting Shi Su to join. Shi Su didn’t want to participate, and as they turned toward the elevator, she suddenly spotted a figure stepping out from another elevator.

Jing Sixue had hardly slept the previous night; the temporary room assigned by the hotel staff was fine, but not on the 22nd floor, making it far from the floor where Jing Jihan was. She couldn’t find a proper reason to go up and look for him, wanting to find an opportunity to have breakfast with him. However, Jing Jihan mostly had breakfast in his room and wouldn’t likely accompany her to the restaurant. Besides, she came unannounced last night, and he had probably figured out the business with the spare room card by now. Jing Sixue hadn’t figured out yet what reasons or topics she could use to reach out to him...

Just as she was about to go downstairs for breakfast, stepping out of the elevator, she saw someone unexpected.

It was Jing Sixue who first saw Shi Su, and Shi Su returned the gaze after sensing hers, only to then realize her presence.

Their eyes briefly crossed paths. Shi Su wasn’t surprised to see Jing Sixue come; after all, they weren’t familiar enough. They had only met once at the Jing Family, and it wasn’t enough to call it acquaintance, so she simply treated her like a stranger and entered the elevator with no expression, not even bothering with a greeting.

Jing Sixue, however, stopped in her tracks as Shi Su’s elevator doors closed, turning her eyes back to those doors.

"Miss Jing, I’m very sorry, Mr. Jing isn’t answering the phone, the lady who went to the wrong room isn’t answering either. We just had to ring the bell, and after the door was opened, it got shut again... Mr. Jing is the guest of that room, and he has no intention of opening the door, so there’s nothing we can do..."

The lady who went to the wrong room?

Mr. Jing has no intention of opening the door?

Jing Sixue suddenly recalled what the staff said last night and fixed her eyes onto those elevator doors in an instant.

When Shi Su went upstairs, Chu Jiu and Miss Chen were still pestering her to join them for a card game—they were persistent, leaving her no choice but to go to the room with them and play on their phones. In just a little over two hours, Shi Su lost all her chips, and in the end, she lay on the bed giving up, refusing to play any further.

The torrential rain outside had lightened a bit, with no more thunder, just a gentle drizzle.

Shi Su lay on Chu Jiu’s bed for a while, initially intending to sleep but couldn’t, then suddenly felt some abdominal pain when she turned over. She couldn’t help but press her lower abdomen with her hand. It wasn’t the time for her menstrual cycle, so why was she suddenly having a stomach ache?

Was it the Hong Kong snacks from last night being unhygienic?

"You two keep playing, I’m going back to my room to rest for a bit." Shi Su quickly sat up, feeling a tug on her abdomen as she did, the pain turning her face pale, and hurriedly left.

Miss Chen and Chu Jiu were engrossed in their game, their phones occasionally erupting with cries of "Super bomb!" and "Pass," waving her off and continuing, failing to notice Shi Su’s discomfort.

Shi Su didn’t think much of it either, assuming she ate something bad, she went straight to the elevator to her room.

But after rushing back and sitting in the bathroom for a while, nothing happened, clearly not an upset stomach.

She had to leave the bathroom, sitting on her bed feeling uncomfortable, clutching her stomach as she lay down. She wanted to sleep, but the pain kept her from doing so. Hence, she picked up her phone, opened a music app, and played some light music, attempting to relax and fall asleep, hoping she’d feel better after some rest.

However, as soothing music filled the room, Shi Su closed her eyes briefly, suddenly biting her lip and rolling over in pain, wishing she could curl up completely, her forehead beaded with cold sweat.
