Chapter 354: Chapter 354 - 348: Can’t Pretend Not to See Anymore
"Your ’liking’ means invading my privacy? Knocking on my hotel door past midnight? Bringing breakfast at six in the morning while I’m still asleep?" Shi Su looked at her with a clear and cold gaze, "Let me repeat, I never asked for such services! Not only are you interrupting my rest, but you’re also demanding autographs from me under the guise of being a fan while wearing the hotel’s uniform, indicating these actions are during your work hours. Your behavior not only invades my privacy but also violates your professional ethics! Please leave immediately!"
The staff member held her phone tightly, staring at her in disbelief, "I just like you, what did I do wrong? I didn’t enter your room, I brought fruit and breakfast for your own good..."
"I don’t want to argue with you about this. For judgment of right and wrong, and responsibility, go explain to your hotel manager." Shi Su retreated impatiently, slamming the door shut with a "bang."
She called Miss Chen, detailing the harassment by hotel staff posing as fans from last night until now, then threw down her phone and collapsed back onto the bed to continue sleeping.
She was just too exhausted.
This sleep was not a natural awakening.
Miss Chen arrived a little after nine.
Entering the room, she saw Shi Su looking like she hadn’t slept well, figuring it was due to the harassment from last night and this morning, causing interrupted sleep.
"Don’t sleep yet, rest on the plane this afternoon instead." Miss Chen checked the time, "Regarding what you called me about, would the hotel’s hallway surveillance capture it?"
"If the cameras weren’t malfunctioning, then they should have."
"Alright, I’ll go file a complaint. You freshen up, later we’ll meet with a few advertisers here in the capital, the maximum is just a coffee meeting to maintain relationships, then we’ll head to the airport." After arranging matters, Miss Chen took her phone and went out the door again.
Shi Su had no choice but to get up and shower. When she had just finished and was getting dressed, preparing to dry her hair back in the bathroom, Miss Chen knocked and returned.
"Finished the complaint?" Shi Su asked her while holding the hairdryer.
"Yes, I filed it, but their staff was quite arrogant. Although they apologized, saying the room service personnel yesterday was a new intern and didn’t know her situation clearly, it was only a verbal apology representing the hotel. Judging by the staff’s attitude, I suspect they are planning to cover up. Last night’s person probably wasn’t even staff but a wealthy and obsessed fan who borrowed a uniform from them, likely bribed them."
As Miss Chen spoke, her voice was cold, "However, I overheard some staff discussing. They said the hotel’s general manager is here for an inspection today, discreetly conferred to avoid offending guests, trying to resolve matters quickly. Before I went upstairs, I indeed saw a group respectfully walking over there, likely the hotel’s general manager has arrived. I’ll directly complain to him."
After speaking, Miss Chen seemed about to make a call to contact someone; she wanted to check the responsible party for this hotel. After all, last night was arranged by the magazine, and returning too late, only knowing it was comfortable staying here, she hadn’t thought much else.
Suddenly, as if she heard something, she did not make the call, instead, she turned and opened the door to peek outside, then turned back to Shi Su, gave her a look, and quietly said, "Turns out they came to this floor! I see them!"
Shi Su: ???
Who came to this floor?
Was it the general manager inspecting this hotel?
Before she could ask, Miss Chen dashed out boldly.
Originally, Shi Su just wanted Miss Chen to find the hotel manager to complain, not intending to escalate the matter too much.
Thinking this way, she held the hairdryer, ready to return to the bathroom, when she paused, looked at the card slot on the wall by the door, and walked over to see a faint mark on the room card.
Jing.
There was unexpectedly a Jing character on it.
Shi Su instantly felt like she’d been hit on the head with a dull thud.
She wasn’t familiar with Yu Jing Group’s commercial buildings in the capital, but Yu Jing Group indeed has been restructuring in recent years. Back then, all their group-built buildings only had a Jing character as a sign, already considered discreet; now, the Jing character sign has been removed entirely, only on certain internal structures or special markers there’s a reflective logo visible.
She hadn’t noticed any logo on the hotel equipment near the bed last night; now, she saw the increasingly clear mark on the card in her hand here.
As her mind suddenly reacted, Shi Su’s body already moved first, quickly grabbing the room card in her hand, and rushing out to call Miss Chen back.
She ran out in a hurry, having not worn shoes in the room just before; the carpet in the corridor didn’t feel cold or hard under her bare feet, completely unnoticed, she abruptly turned her gaze and saw Miss Chen blocking the so-called inspection group on the other side.
Miss Chen stood there, angrily protesting, "This is the capital, such a large seven-star hotel having such errors, isn’t it a reflection of mismanagement and staff issues under your hotel’s supervision? With Yu Jing Group’s headquarters in Jiang City, does the hotel think it’s beyond reach, secretly accepting bribes from fans to let someone masquerade in a borrowed uniform to harass artist guests? Is this really a hotel under your group? It’s too disappointing!"
Shi Su glanced over Miss Chen’s shoulder to see a tall, cold figure standing amongst the group, instantly feeling a chill down her spine, running forward to pull Miss Chen’s hand, "Miss Chen, stop talking, you should..."
Come back to the room with me.
She hadn’t finished these words when Miss Chen shook off her hand, still looking at the regal man standing there with cold eyes, "I know your company handles numerous businesses, and the hotel industry is just one of them. Since you came personally for the inspection and ran into this situation today, isn’t it reasonable to provide a proper solution? Our artist, although a public figure, is being excessively invaded in privacy outside work hours, which is really not..."
"Miss Chen!" Shi Su tugged at her hand again, while her eyes were no longer able to pretend not to see.
She couldn’t avoid turning her gaze, meeting those cold black eyes that exuded calm indifference, lifting her eyes to face the dignified and poised man.
The man’s gaze remained unchanged, looking at Shi Su who had run over with somewhat wet hair, barefoot.
Shi Su could not have imagined encountering Jing Jihan in such a setting and under these circumstances.
