Chapter 320: Chapter 320 - 315: Anyway, the Man in Front Is Jing Jihan
The man’s tall figure was originally standing straight, and Shi Su didn’t know where she got the sudden burst of courage from. After one kiss was not enough, she lifted her hands and firmly grabbed his collar, pulling him down to kiss him again.
Jing Jihan lowered his gaze to look at the passionate little woman. Naturally, he wrapped his arm around her waist, fixing her in his embrace. After Shi Su enthusiastically and haphazardly kissed him while on tiptoe, she got tired and was about to pull back. In that moment, he held her tight, taking the lead to open her lips and returned the kiss heavily.
"Mmm... mmm..." Shi Su was almost out of breath and struggled to say, "Mmm... can’t breathe... can’t breathe..."
Only then did the man laugh softly and release her, giving her another kiss at the corner of her lips. "Still trying to tempt me?"
Shi Su frowned, opened her hazy eyes to glare at him, and reasonably said, "I just... considering that my financial backer saved me... wanted to... give myself..."
As she spoke, she couldn’t even stand steadily. The moment her words ended, she leaned into his arms again, her head hitting his collarbone, and she lifted her hand to play with the buttons on his shirt front.
"Tsk." The man let out a low tsk, not sure whether she hurt him or because of her words. The hands that had let go of her waist tightened their hold around her again, more heavy and firm than before. His deep voice resounded above her head, "Saving you once earns such a great benefit?"
While the man spoke, Shi Su felt like the clothes on her body were slowly decreasing.
She couldn’t worry about that now; after all, the person in front of her was Jing Jihan.
She cooperatively lifted her hands to wrap around his neck, clothes peeling off piece by piece, as she closed her eyes and mumbled, "Hmm... I already pawned Shi Mianmian off to Wen Ke... Damn Wen Ke took Shi Mianmian’s sugar-coated bullets and still didn’t come save me... Wait till tomorrow... tomorrow I’ll settle accounts with her..."
As the words fell, Shi Su could already feel the cool air on her body. Suddenly lifted off her feet, she was carried by the man into the bathroom.
"Ah, cold..." She had just gotten the word ’cold’ out, when she was dropped into a pool of warm water, the man followed in, his arm resting on the edge of the tub beside her.
Shi Su opened her eyes to look at him, saw the man’s Adam’s apple bob, and then saw the roaring desire in his deep, calm black eyes.
She was just about to groggily and confusedly tell him not to bathe together, instinctively recalling the time in the H City hotel bathroom where she had struggled to death. But just as the words came to her lips, they were stopped.
The steamy air of the bathroom seemed to have an unyielding heat.
Outside the window, the cool night wind blew, in the air, heat and chill alternated, swirling with soft curtains.
The next morning, in Jiang City’s winter after two snowfalls, the sun rarely shone brightly.
The light passed through the Jing Family’s lush greenery in the old mansion, melting the thin layer of snow on the leaves while carrying the crisp chill of morning mist.
Shi Su turned over but couldn’t get up because a arm was weighing on her. Finally, she opened her eyes in the hangover-induced sleepiness, sluggishly turning her head to see the man sleeping beside her.
Jing Jihan was evidently awake but hadn’t opened his eyes. His hand that rested on her enfolded her into his embrace. He spoke with a raspy morning voice, "Awake so early? Does your head still hurt?"
Last night’s memory was a little fragmented, not connecting well, Shi Su compliantly nestled in his arms without moving, trying hard to recall what happened last night. She vaguely remembered that Wen Ke didn’t reply to her messages, and then Jing Jihan suddenly appeared.
She even forgot that she had texted Jing Jihan after drinking too much, asking him to come save her and wasn’t clear on how he appeared so suddenly.
"Tsk, hurts." Shi Su raised her hand in his arms, pressing her forehead, seeing out of the corner of her eye that this seemed to be a bedroom in the Jing Family’s old mansion. She couldn’t help but ask in surprise, enduring her hangover headache, "Why did you bring me back to the Jing Family?"
The man’s long and strong fingers naturally landed on her head, massaging her forehead and temples. While managing her headache, he looked down at the quiet little woman lying in his embrace, "Yesterday was the New Year’s Day, so I came back to see the old man. I was at the Jing Family before picking you up, so I brought you back afterward."
Shi Su’s head pain eased a bit, and though being nestled in his arms was warm and comfortable, once the headache subsided, she suddenly noticed that she was wearing his clothes again.
No matter how fragmented the memories from last night were, she had the faintest impression.
Suddenly, her mind was in chaos, wondering if any Jing Family servants passed by outside his room last night...
Just as she thought of this, suddenly Hui’s voice came from outside, "Mr. Jing, breakfast is ready, and today’s breakfast is in the main hall."
Hearing the voice, Shi Su was shocked and immediately wanted to sit up, but the man decisively pressed her back down, saying calmly into her ear, "Go back to sleep."
Shi Su looked at him in surprise and whispered, "This is the Jing Family, isn’t it? You never have the habit of sleeping in, and anyway, we’re both awake. Shouldn’t you go greet Mr. Jing in the morning?"
In her impression, even now without too many old-fashioned people, considering a familial environment like the Jing Family and Mr. Jing’s love for traditional opera, surely some rules and etiquette common in big families remain. Not getting up to have breakfast together is definitely indulgent.
"Not today." The man pacifyingly patted her lightly, his hand gently stroking her head again, "Listen to me, go back to sleep."
Shi Su: "..."
Though truly now, because of her hangover, she’s not in the best condition, and right now it’s indeed inconvenient for her to see people. Although they had a bath last night, she still feared the possible remnants of alcohol scent, which would really not be good.
But Jing Jihan has always been disciplined, never a person to act on whims.
Yet, he was actually lounging in bed with her, not intending to get up anytime soon.
Hui, not hearing a response from outside, waited for a while longer, then left without knocking again.
...
In the main hall, Jing Luozhou, having risen bright and early and only just cleaned up, arrived with his hair still damp, bearing a mild morning grumpiness, his expression cool as he went to sit at the dining table.
Mrs. Jing and Jing Sixue were already there.
Until Mr. Jing, having already sung a couple of operatic pieces in the courtyard, came lively propped with his cane, it was then that everyone noticed Jing Jihan had not arrived.
Mr. Jing immediately looked towards Jing Luozhou’s direction. Jing Luozhou, who had just picked up his chopsticks, was caught by Mr. Jing’s gaze and shrugged, meaning he didn’t know.
Mr. Jing glanced again at Mr. Li, who immediately stepped over, leaned down beside him, and whispered, "Last night, Mr. Jing brought Miss Shi Su back. It was already very late then."
Upon hearing that Shi Su had been brought to the Jing Family, and clearly taken to the room by Jing Jihan, Mr. Jing’s brows instantly relaxed and, in a good mood, said, "Ah, let them sleep then. Tell Hui not to specifically wake them."
