Chapter 305: Chapter 305 - 301: Not a Bastard Child

Jing Jihan gently placed his hand on Mianmian’s head, as if to comfort and encourage her, and said in a deep voice, "Mianmian, tell the principal why you fought with that little friend."

Mianmian looked up at the principal. Having already said it once outside, the little girl was now done crying, her mind clear, and obediently repeated what she had said earlier.

Upon hearing Mianmian say that Haohao claimed she had no father and called her a wild child, the principal’s expression turned somewhat complex as he looked at Haohao’s parents.

Haohao’s father immediately, with an embarrassed look, pulled his son behind him. He initially thought that with some influence, he could benefit his son, but he didn’t expect to encounter someone like Jing Jihan.

"Ugh... Shi Mianmian really doesn’t have a father! All the kids in our class know she doesn’t have a father; she’s a wild child..." Haohao suddenly struggled and shouted.

"You keep quiet!" Haohao’s father suddenly gave him a firm pat on the back. When Haohao was about to start wailing, he held him down to prevent him from crying.

Haohao looked at his mother, feeling wronged.

Haohao’s mother’s demeanor was no longer as domineering as before. After thinking for a moment, she softened her tone and said, "Mr. Jing, irrespective of your relationship with Shi Mianmian, since you claim to be this child’s father, let’s discuss from a parental perspective. Haohao was indeed injured by Shi Mianmian. Haohao’s eyes are still swollen with bloodshot eyes. Children often lack tact, and conflicts and arguments are unavoidable, but physically hurting someone is wrong!"

Mianmian suddenly turned to look at Haohao’s mother. This auntie had just fiercely threatened to hit her, but now she suddenly spoke gently. Mianmian didn’t understand why Haohao’s mother had such a sudden change in attitude. She just looked in her direction and said, "It was Haohao who hit me first! I didn’t fight back! He pushed me off the small stool! I only hit back because I was hurting! I didn’t hit his eye; he fell and hit the edge of the table himself when he got up!"

"You hit me! You hit me! You hit me! She hit me..." Haohao struggled and cried out in his father’s arms, shouting and crying with his mouth open.

"This..." The principal suddenly turned to look at the kindergarten teacher.

The teacher stood by the door, lips pressed together, not speaking, but was visibly nervous.

"Our Haohao wouldn’t lie," Haohao’s mother insisted.

Jing Jihan spoke, his voice as calm as ever: "I thought that a nursery school of this scale would immediately check classroom surveillance when an issue arises, rather than relying solely on one child’s account."

The principal quickly said, "We indeed planned to check the surveillance, but the incident happened half an hour before school ended. Just now, Haohao’s parents came directly into the office, and we haven’t had the chance to look at the footage. Let’s check it now!"

Saying that, the principal quickly called the teacher responsible for surveillance, asking for the footage of Shi Mianmian’s class from this afternoon.

Upon hearing that the surveillance would be checked, Haohao’s cries grew louder, continuously wailing, "Shi Mianmian hit me! She hit me! Mom, it was Shi Mianmian who hit me..."

Haohao’s mother heard her son’s increasingly angry cries, and seeing Shi Mianmian standing quietly in front of Jing Jihan, wide-eyed, calm, and not making a fuss, she couldn’t find the words to respond. She could only comfort her son while waiting for the surveillance footage to be reviewed.

The principal opened the surveillance footage on the computer, playing the half-hour before school ended at fast forward.

In the surveillance footage, Shi Mianmian and Haohao sat behind the same small desk. Even though the video was fast-forwarding, one could clearly hear Haohao suddenly saying those words about having no father and being a wild child, each word matching perfectly with Mianmian’s account. Angrily, Mianmian turned her head and shouted, "I didn’t find a fake dad! Don’t talk nonsense!"

"You’re lying!" Haohao glared at Shi Mianmian arrogantly, and suddenly pushed the picture book and pencil case in front of Mianmian onto the ground. Then, with a face full of excitement, he shook his head at Shi Mianmian, taunting her by yelling, "Wild child without a dad, blah, blah, blah! You’re a wild child without a dad! You’re a liar too!"

Mianmian suddenly stood up and said towards the teacher, "Teacher, I don’t want to sit with Haohao anymore!"

But the kindergarten teacher was busy back and forth, helping the little kids prepare to go home. Hearing Mianmian’s words, she didn’t respond, so Mianmian had to sit down again. However, Haohao suddenly kicked away the small stool behind Mianmian, causing her to fall backward onto the ground. Her face hit the pencil box on the floor, hurting her and making her cry. The teacher just turned around briefly hearing the cry, but continued her tasks, not minding the quarreling children at their seats.

Mianmian angrily got up, and with a push, shoved Haohao, who was still sitting there. Haohao, being a boy, was stronger and didn’t fall over. He retaliated by pushing Mianmian, and the two children started fighting at their seats, with Mianmian crying angrily and shouting, "I’m not a wild child!"

Haohao was shouting something that was unclear, but his tone was similar to before. Mianmian, unable to overpower him, tried scratching his face in anger, and Haohao did the same to her. Both kids, overcome with anger, were hitting and crying. Only then did the teacher sense something was wrong and turned to scold them, telling them to sit down quietly. Haohao cried, saying, "Teacher, Shi Mianmian hit me!"

Then, Haohao pushed Mianmian away, causing her to stagger backward and lean against the wall. He himself sat down abruptly on the floor, and while quickly trying to stand up to tell the teacher, he didn’t notice the corner of the table. As he got up, his eye hit it heavily, making him sit back down on the floor in pain, wailing loudly, repeatedly saying, "Shi Mianmian hit me!"

Seeing that the child was injured, the teacher hurriedly ran over to pick up Haohao. She clearly saw that Haohao’s injury was self-inflicted, but because of her negligence and failure to address the situation properly, this outcome resulted. Listening to Haohao’s persistent cries, the teacher directly turned to question Mianmian on why she hit someone.

Then it was almost dismissal time, and the teacher kept the two children back, letting the other children go home.

Until Haohao’s parents caused a commotion in the principal’s office.

After watching the surveillance, Haohao’s parents remained silent throughout. The kindergarten teacher stood at the door, her face full of anxiety and embarrassment.

Mianmian looked up at Jing Jihan, her eyes red and said, "I didn’t lie!"

Jing Jihan patted her little head, "I know."
