At Golden Fall Villa…
The bright rays of the sun shone on the swimming pool, making it sparkle like a thousand stars across the galaxy. Lounging on the recliner chair was Rayne who wore nothing but a bathing suit and sunglasses. With a tablet in her hand, she was busy scrolling through it, and not a sound could be heard from the area.
Her brows creased into a frown and a look of irritation shone in her eyes when some footsteps approached her later. “Max, I told you I want to have my peaceful time.”
However, It wasn’t the bodyguard that was standing beside her. Sensing the Young Miss’s irritation, the Chef hoped she wasn’t in for another round of scolding.
“You have some guests, Young Miss. So I thought it would be better if they meet you here,” The woman said, doing her best to keep her voice respectful.
On hearing the Chef’s voice, Rayne lifted her head, looking more irritated. “Are you stupid, how dare you lead the guests here?”
From behind the Chef, Rayne could already see the four girls approaching. The Chef sighed, avoiding the girl’s eyes.
“What do you want me to do, Young Miss? Send them away?” She asked.
“Just get out of here.” Rayne rolled her eyes and waved her off. “Next time, ask for permission first before you let anyone see me.” Seeing who those guests were, Rayne was more interested in hearing what brought them rather than punishing the Chef.
The Chef scoffed inside and walked away. This Young Miss was only getting more arrogant every day. If she wasn’t being paid handsomely, why would she still stay in that kind of place? She was a Chef and not a servant.
“Ms. Xin. It is good to see you again.” The four girls were no one but those celebrities and they greeted Rayne fearfully.
The last time they came, they looked confident and sure of themselves, but now, they were looking depressed and haggard as if they were just released from an asylum. Literally, it hadn’t been long since they all got discharged from the hospital.
“Say what brought you,” Rayne said curtly, not sparing them a glance.
The girls sighed at once and they all knelt in front of her.
“Ms. Xin, we are here to remind you of the favor you promised us. Ms. Xin promised that she’ll treat us well.”
“We know you have good connections with the movie directors across the country. Ms. Xin could get us a role without any difficulties.”
“However, we’re sad to express that our career is over. After the accident, no one wants to cast us in their movies. The little clothing brand my sister is also modeling for has canceled its contract with her because of the scars on her face.”
“Ms. Xin, you’re so compassionate. If you could help us out and find us something to do, we’ll be forever grateful for your help.”
It was true that after the accident, the girls were ashamed to show their faces to the public. They were severely injured to an unrecognizable state. They didn’t also have money for plastic surgery which cost a great deal.
And because they couldn’t just shamelessly ask for money from the lady, they could only hope she would find them another thing to do so they could get enough money for their treatment, and maybe get to fulfill their dreams someday.
Rayne looked at the girl’s through her lashes, her lips curling up. She laughed suddenly, surprising the girls, but they couldn’t question why she was laughing. They were in a lot of dilemma as it is.
“Will you do any kind of job?” Rayne asked them with a small smile.
The girls bobbed their heads rapidly like lizards. “As long as we’ll get money, we can do anything, Ms. Xin.”
“Ms. Xin is the most generous. We will be grateful to do any job you introduce us to.”
“You are the only person who isn’t disgusted by our looks, Ms. Xin. You are the most generous. Thank you so much for having such a big heart.”
Rayne snickered and picked up her phone. “If that’s the case, you can start cleaning the villa from tomorrow. I’ll pay you handsomely, don’t worry.”
“Ms. Xin, we can even start today.”
“We won’t disappoint you, Ms. Xin. Thank you so much.”
The girls thanked her profusely and hurried away. Moments later, Max appeared before her.
“Young Miss-“
“Inform the cleaners to stop coming. I have found replacements.”
Max nodded promptly, looking at his Young Miss’s happy expression. “I’ll do that right away. Do you need anything else?”
Rayne shook her head, chuckling. “Max, isn’t this sweet? Don’t you see how those ungrateful bitches now look?”
“They brought it upon themselves, Young Miss. How dare they fantasize about the Young Master?”
“Haha!” Rayne laughed, her shrill voice echoing in the area. “This is how I want them all to look, especially that lowly girl. Tell me, Max. Must I be anticipating every day for the news of her death? Didn’t you tell me the boys you hired are good?”
Her mood dampened immediately and Max lowered his head. “I will check in with them, Young Miss. Please don’t worry about it.”
“Just get rid of her!” Rayne snapped. “Tell them to do that soon!”
The more she waited to hear the news of her death, the more anxious she got. Rayne was tired of waiting. That girl was the biggest obstacle in her path.
Andrew no longer answered her phone and the only thing she had to do was ask of his whereabouts through his mother. Because of that girl, the man had turned her into a stranger.
If his mother hadn’t called, Rayne wouldn’t have known that he was in the other city. The pain of communicating with the man she loved through another person was tiring. She wasn’t even sure if the woman was speaking about her with her son.
Rayne dialed the woman’s number and sighed. What choice did she have? She could only hope he returned soon.
