Chapter 61: Chapter 61
In all anxiousness, Assistant Jiang rushed toward the CEO’s office on seeing the door open. He was late again, and the assistant was certain he was in big trouble. His Boss didn’t punish him yesterday, probably because of Mrs. Lim’s scandal.
On a second note, The assistant also wondered why his Boss was here very early. He paused in his tracks and looked at his wristwatch. He wasn’t actually late. It was a few minutes before eight.
That only meant one thing. Mrs. Lim had managed to kick his Boss out.
Assistant Jiang felt saddened by that realization, and he entered the office in low spirits. Expecting to see the man sitting across his desk with a dark look glaring at him, the assistant was ready to be berated without any cause.
However, shock hit him when he saw his Boss sitting instead on the couch. On the man’s face was a calm expression. Leaning against the couch, his one leg was placed atop the other one and the spectacle sitting on his nose bridge concealed half of his eyes.
“Assistant Jiang, you’re late,” The man said in a soft tone that had the assistant rubbing his ears.
Assistant Jiang gawked at him. What exactly happened to change his Boss overnight? Was it that he was able to sleep peacefully last night?
The important question was: Mrs. Lim wasn’t pleased, how did she allow the man to sleep on the same bed?
“I- I am so sorry, Mr. Lim. This will never happen again.” Just like always, the assistant used the same words to apologize.
His Boss could flare up and berate him more, but the man didn’t. With a calm expression still on his face, he continued sorting through the documents in front of him.
Assistant Jiang left the office to retrieve today’s report from the secretaries area. The report they submitted today was from the Marketing Department.
After handing it to the man, he sat down on the opposite couch, watching him go through the report.
“Which companies are competing with MystiArt Productions in this city?” Andrew looked at him.
Assistant Jiang brought out his phone and quickly browsed. “There are three similar companies in this city. HQ Entertainment Corp, DazzlingArts Enterprises, and Megaworld Productions.”
As the assistant listed the companies, he went ahead to point out their similarities and differences.
“While HQ Entertainment Corp also produces comic arts, they have ventured into the movie production world. That is, they collaborate with movie producers and some celebrities. This way, they were able to adapt a lot of their comic videos into actual movies too.”
“As for DazzlingArts Enterprises, they focus mostly on children’s cartoons. Their target audience is little kids between the ages of three and seven. Another thing is, they collaborate with toy-making companies which turn the cartoon characters into toys, catering to the audience’s taste.”
“MegaWorld Productions, as the name implies, majorly targets the male audience. They are known to be experts in video games production. With their elaborate Arts and Production teams, they were able to produce most of the popular action video games in the country.”
“What about MystiArts Productions? What is your view on it?”
For a second, the assistant wondered why his Boss asked that. However, the word coming from others’ perspectives might be different from the company’s intent.
“MystiArt Productions doesn’t focus on a particular niche, Mr. Lim. We can be said to be the powerhouse of the entertainment world. Although its competitors aren’t lacking in fame and audience, MystiArt Productions takes on the role of catering to all audiences. By that, it produces comic stories, collaborates with movie directors, ventures into the gaming world, and also collaborates with some toy-making companies.”
Assistant jiang finished talking and the office sank into silence. His Boss didn’t speak for a while. The man just shut his eyes and rested back on the couch.
Seeing that he was done reading the report, Assitant Jiang gathered it and stored it inside one of the cabinets standing beside a wall.
“Don’t you think MystiArt Productions is taking up more tasks than they can handle?” Andrew opened his eyes and asked.
Assistant Jiang didn’t think so. His brows furrowed and he shook his head. “MystiArt Productions has competent employees, Mr. Lim. Although it didn’t manage to outshine the other companies for many years, it doesn’t lack in success.”
“That should mean it’s walking shoulder to shoulder with the other companies.”
“That’s right, Mr. Lim.” Assistant Jiang nodded.
A displeased expression flashed across the man’s face before it disappeared in the next second.
Assistant Jiang was a bit confused, but he didn’t question his Boss’s sudden change in mood. Did he find anything displeasing with MystiArt Productions?
“When is the next general meeting?”
When his Boss asked that question, the assistant opened his new tablet and went through the schedules. “That should be in a month’s time, Mr. Lim.”
“A month’s time.” Andrew glanced at the calendar sitting on the desk. “Don’t I have an appointment with Master Zhao that week?”
Assistant Jiang went through the schedules again. “Your appointment with Master Zhao is in a week prior to that,” he explained.
Andrew nodded and the assistant cleared his throat some minutes later. Contemplating if his Boss already knew or not, he wasn’t sure if he should talk to him about it yet.
And if his Boss didn’t know, wouldn’t the assistant be offending the old man?
It was still very early this morning. Assistant Jiang had just woken up when he got a call from the Old Master. The man asked him to tell his Boss that he was missing him.
However, wouldn’t the man tell that to his grandson himself? Why was he using the assistant to convey the message?
With that said, Assistant Jiang had to deliver the message. Otherwise, the Old Master might call and ask later.
“Mr. Lim, about your grandfather-“
“We will return to the other City tomorrow.”
Andrew already knew what the assistant was about to say. He had received the same call from his grandfather that morning.
If his grandfather even called the assistant, he was using the guy as a reminder to rush him.
