Chapter 9: Chapter 9
Ace POV.
Waking up has never been tiring as it is today. Maybe the fact that I have to wake up so early and I sleep late has something to do with it. I dragged myself out of bed and went to the bathroom. I stood in front of the mirror and looked at the bags below my eyes. I will surely get questions because of them. I took the toothbrush and started brushing my teeth. Afterwards I walked to the shower to take a bath. It took me just a few minutes to finish. I wore a black jeans and a white tee-shirt. Even though I am a businessman, I am really not used to wearing suits all the time. I wear them when I have a meeting or there is a party.
I sprayed my outfit then walked out of the room with my phone in my hand. I walked downstairs and heard noises coming from the dining room.
"Where is uncle?" I heard Ivan's voice.
That is my nephew. I did not know that they were coming.
"I don't know. Maybe he is still sleeping," Bob said.
"What! Ace sleeping at this time?" My brother, Mark asked.
"What time did he sleep?" My sister, Abigail asked.
It seems that everyone is here and I really wonder what brought them here.
"Uum…" Bob started talking but I know that he did not want to tell them the truth because they hate it when we sleep late. I decided to walk in so that I can intervene before they push him into answering their questions.
"Good morning family," I said as I walked in the dining room.
"Uncle Ace," Ivan said as he ran towards me.
I knelt down so that I could be on the same level as him.
"Hello there kiddo," I said.
"I missed you so much uncle," he said as he hugged me tightly. I really love this kid and I can do anything for him.
"I missed you so much too," I said. "So how is school?" I asked him as I carried him towards the table.
"Boring as usual," he said. "I wish I could just stay at home."
No one in our family has ever loved going to school.
"I think I said good morning as I walked in?" I asked the rest while looking at them.
"I think that you were too busy with your nephew to hear our reply," Abigail said.
"Fine. If you all don't want to tell me then none of you should ask a favour from me," I said.
*Morning,"
"Good morning."
"Good morning don."
"Good morning don."
"Come here kiddo," I called Ivan and sat him on my lap.
"You're spoiling that kid so much," my brother said.
"I know. He is my only nephew after all so I will forever spoil him," I said.
"Don, what would you like for breakfast?" Maria, our housekeeper asked.
"I would like some omelette with a glass of orange juice please," I answered her question.
"Alright sir," she said as she went to the kitchen.
"So what brings you here guys?" I asked them.
"We really feel offended. Can't we come to see our brother," Abigail asked, making me roll my eyes.
"Yes, you can. But both of you have made it a behaviour only to come here when you need a favour," I said.
"Whatever," Mark said, making me glare at him.
"We were just in the city and Ivan wanted to see his favourite uncle. He claimed that he needed to tell him something," Abigail said.
"Where is Mike by the way? Why is he not with you guys?" I said when I noticed the absence of Abigail's husband.
"He had a meeting to attend in Mexico but he will be here before the charity ball," she said.
"Which charity ball are you talking about?" I asked because I was pretty confused.
"Uuhm, Don. Your invitation card just arrived this morning. All your family members are also invited," Bob said.
"What about you guys?" I asked.
"We are also invited, don. We are your security," Paul said.
"Which ball is this?" I asked because they had not answered my question.
"The charity ball held every year by Scott's Family," Mark answered.
"Thank you little brother," I told him, making him glaring at me because of the word that I used. We all chuckled at that.
Ivan was eating his food silently but I knew that he was listening. He tends to do that many times then ask a lot of questions about what you were discussing later.
"So you lied to me!" I said as I looked at Abigail.
"What have I lied to you about?" She asked innocently as if she did not have any idea of what she had done.
"You said that you guys are here because Ivan wanted to see me but it is because of the ball. Am I right?" I asked and she let out a sigh.
"Yes, you are," she said and I nodded my head.
Honestly, I have no issue with them staying here. I had really missed them, especially Ivan.
"I guess your breakfast is very tasty because you haven't even looked up. You are just concentrating on the food," I told Ivan.
He knew he was the one who I was talking to since he looked up at me with a smirk. This kid reminds me of my childhood.
"Yes, it is very tasty but not as tasty as the girl I met," he said in a whisper so that his mother couldn't hear him. Mark heard and he almost choked.
"What happened?" Are you okay?" Abigail asked him as she handed him a glass of water.
"Yes, I am fine," Mark said after recovering.
"Then eat your food properly like a grown up," she scolded him. She is always strict. She is our firstborn.
"Well as for me, I cannot tell since I don't have any food to compare with the chick I met," I whispered back.
As a glue that I was hungry, Maria walked in with my breakfast. She placed it in front of me before saying that I should have a great breakfast.
"Thank you Maria," I said.
"Now you have food that you can compare," Ivan told me and I nodded my head with a smirk on my face. He smirked back.
"Ace, look what you have told my kid. He behaves like a grown man when he is just four years old," Abigail complained.
"What have I done now?" I asked even though I knew what she was talking about.
"You…" She was interrupted by Mark who had a grin on his face.
"Just let him be, Abigail," he said then smirked.
"Gosh. How am I related to these idiots?" She face slapped herself.
"Now look you are hurting yourself because of something petty mom," Ivan said, earning a glare from Abigail.
"Uncle let us eat so that we can compare their share between the food and the girl you met who is hot," Ivan whispered but unfortunately, Mark had.
"You met a girl?" He shouted, earning attention from everyone.
"Who's silly?" Ivan asked.
"Ace of course. You are too young to even choose who is pretty or not," he said.
"In your dreams uncle. The girls you spend the night with are just ugly and their faces are always covered with a lot of makeup making them look like bimbos,"Ivan said and we laughed but Mar's face was priceless.
"How do you even know when someone has worn a lot of makeup or not?" Mark asked.
"It is so easy man. Don't tell me that you don't know. Anyways I will be glad to show you the difference but not now," Ivan said and continued eating his food.
"Just say that you don't know!" Mark told him.
"I wonder why you have never noticed and you have always eaten their faces. Sometimes the makeup covered in your lips shows all of that," Ivan said as he laughed.
"Abigail, you better teach your son some manners," Mark complained.
"So now I should teach him because he is just stating facts?" Abigail asked as she pretended a laugh from escaping.
"Whatever. As I was asking before Ivan decided to interrupt me. Ace, have you found a girl?" Mark asked.
"Why do you always have to be stupid?" Ivan asked him.
"Why?" He asked.
"We are comparing to the bimbo he slept the latest with," Ivan said, making Abigail glare at him.
"Ivan, where have you been learning all these things from?" She asked.
"It is not my fault that you refuse to let me watch cartoons and instead watch grown ups stuff in my presence. I am sure that I even know how to fuck," he said with a smirk since he knew what he was doing.
I smiled silently cause I knew for sure that he was winning and he would get what he wanted.
"Uncle, let us finish eating then we will go to play," he told me and I nodded my head.
I looked at Abigail and Mark and saw that they had shocked expressions on their faces. "I had warned you all but you didn't listen. Now look at the outcome," I said before digging into my meals.
