Chapter 31: Chapter 31
Adrianna POV.
I looked at the room. It was huge but not my room back in my penthouse. I really want to kill them. Who do they think they are?
Why did I stab him? Because he was really annoying.
I really hate annoying people.
I stabbed him the second time to show his family that I don't care what they think or feel. I was in worse pain but they could only see their son. But what did he do to me? To think that I wanted him to fuck me disgusts me. The love and worry I saw in his parents' eyes made me jealous. How I wish I had parents to love me and protect me. Enough with the thoughts.
Where is the first aid kit? I forgot to ask him that. I started searching for it and after some minutes, I found it on the top cabinet in the washroom. I cleaned my wounds, treated them and then bandaged them. I walked to the shower so that I could get rid of this awful smell. I really didn't have any clothes or belongings, so I will go shopping tomorrow. As I walked out of the shower with a towel around my body, I heard a knock on the door and I walked towards it so that I could open it.
It was Abigail and she had a smile on her face but I could tell that it was fake. She was afraid of me, not that I blamed her.
"What do you want!" I asked coldly, making her flinch.
"I…I brought you some clothes. I knew you had none and maybe you wanted to get a shower," she said and that is when I looked at her hands. She held some sweatpants and a tee-shirt. I am very proud and I don't think that I will tell her a thank you but saying it doesn't hurt right?
She handed me the clothes and I took them. She looked at me and I nodded my head hoping she would get what I meant.
"Uhm. I w…as wo….ndering whether you need some help in treating the wounds," she asked.
"You can leave. I can treat them myself. Why don't you go and check on your brother," I said but it came out more harshly.
"Sorry," she murmured, then left.
I closed the door and walked back. I took off the towel and wore the clothes. After taking the towel back to the washroom, I walked to the balcony and looked at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity while the crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. I smiled at the warm welcoming I felt when I looked at them. It was so quiet since it was late at night but unfortunately, the occasional barking of the faraway dogs broke the silence of the night. It made me wonder whether what they said about wolves and werewolves was true. I stayed in that position for a long time until I noticed the moon moving to the west. It brought me back to reality and I decided to get some rest.
Walking back to the room, I closed the balcony door and laid on the bed. In no time, darkness took over.
(The next morning.)
The rays of sunlight lit up my room, making me open my eyes. I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked to the window and looked up at the sky. There was a pearl glow in the sky, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. After all my sleep was gone, I walked into the washroom and took the brush and started cleaning my teeth. I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned at the person who was staring back at me. The hair was all over the face making me look like a zombie. After that, I walked to the bathtub, making sure the water was at my desired temperature, I stripped off the clothes and walked inside the tub. The water was fresh and soothed my muscles. I found myself drifting to sleep, not that I cared.
Opening my eyes, I saw I was still in the tub. I got out and walked to my bedroom. I saw some clothes on my bed. Maybe Abigail was the one who placed them there. I really want to thank her but unfortunately my pride can't allow it. I wiped my body and applied perfume before wearing the clothes. It was a sundress. I really hate wearing dresses but I can't blame her since she didn't know what I was wearing. I only wear dresses when going out on a mission of seducing my prey or during a party but still not this type of dress. The only person to blame is her stupid ass if her brother.
I saw a phone on the nightstand and decided to use it. I called Linda and informed her to bring me a wardrobe of clothes and I gave her the address. I will go over to the penthouse to get my car later. Walking out of the room, I heard noises coming from downstairs and I followed it only because I was not yet familiar with this house. Upon waking into the dining room, the noise ceased and they looked pale. I rolled my eyes at their stupidity and walked into the kitchen.
I was shocked when I looked at the person in front of me.
"Maria?" I asked but it made it out as a whisper but she still heard me.
"Ooh Adrianna, I am sorry they took you," she said as she rushed to me but I stepped back making her stop. She looked at me confusingly.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her.
"This is the other house I have been working in," she said.
"Do you really know them?" I asked and she nodded her head.
"Yes, they are the Italian mafia leader family," she said and I nodded.
"Are you part of it?" I asked.
"No but I can't quit my job. They claim that if I do, I might go and sell them out," she said.
"Do you want to quit the job?" I asked her.
"As much as I want to, I can't leave you alone in this house. That is why I have started working full-time here," she said and I embraced her.
"You really don't have to do that," I told her truthfully.
"I have to. You saved my daughter's life and I will always be indebted to you. This is the only thing I can do and furthermore, I always tell you and Ivy that you are my daughters so what kind of a mother can I be when I leave you here all alone?" She asked and she was weeping.
"Don't cry. We will get out of this place one day," I assured her.
"So what were you doing?" I asked her.
"I just finished preparing their breakfast. I was just cleaning the dishes," she said.
"But they are not yet done," I said.
"I know. What do you want for breakfast?" She asked.
"Usual," I said as I sat at the kitchen counter. She nodded and got back to her work.
"Uhm. Can you help me with your phone?" I asked and she gave it to me.
I ordered all the electronic devices I needed and was informed they would be arriving here in twenty minutes. We talked with Maria about different things. I was aware that the people on the other side of the wall could hear us. They were so quiet so my guess is that they listened to my conversation with Maria. Not that I cared.
"Your omelettes are ready. Will you eat while you are sitting there?" She asked.
"Yes, I will. I better stay with you here than staying with them," I said and she nodded her head in understanding.
She placed the omelettes and the glass of juice next to me before retrieving back. She looked around as if she was searching for something.
"Let me go and check whether they are done," she said as she left.
The place was quiet and the only sound I heard was that of the dishes. She was correcting some footsteps but they weren't coming in this direction. I bet they are leaving the dining room. She later came back and placed them on the sink. I heard the doorbell ring and she wiped her hands. I think she is going to receive the door. Let me be useful and help her.
"I will get it for you," I said as I climbed down.
As I walked past the dining, I was right they were gone since the space was empty. When I got home, I saw the door was already opened and Abigail and her family were seated on the couches. I identified one of the people who had just walked in as Linda's employee. She saw me and smiled.
"Adrianna," she called out and I smiled back at her to acknowledge her presence.
"Lucy, I guess you brought my order," I said.
"Ooh please, you can't call these orders since you are not the one who picked them. You just said that you need a wardrobe of clothes and give us the address," she said and I chuckled.
"You guys know my size and my taste so why should I waste my time choosing them? I did want to choose them, then I would have come over to the shop," I said.
"True. There are so many bags," immediately she said . Three men walked in with their hands filled with bags.
"I assume those are the other bags you are talking about?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Alright. This way," I said and I led them to my room.
"Don't worry, I will arrange the wardrobe for you," she said as we climbed the stairs.
"I expect that actually," I said and we both laughed. I could feel eyes on us but I didn't care.
Luckily, we did not get lost.
"This is my room. I will be leaving you here so that I can go and finish my breakfast but I will be back when I am done," I said.
"No problem," she said.
The men placed the bags on the floor and walked out. I was sure that there were more bags since these bags would not fill the whole wardrobe. I got out and walked back to the kitchen.
