Ace POV.

I walked back to the dining room and started eating. I was aware that they were all looking at me but at this time, I did not care at all.

"Has she agreed to eat?" Mom asked.

"No, the food is scattered on the cell's floor," I answered cause I knew there was no way, I was going to escape mom's questions.

"I really can't blame her though. With your arrogance," Abigail said.

"I don't care what you think or not. She is an enemy so I will treat her as one," I told them and they looked shocked.

Mom had high expectations that I will end up with Adrianna after what she witnessed on the charity ball but a real disappointment doesn't hurt right?

Looking at the food with zero interest in not eating since I have lost my appetite, I played with the food. Mixing food pretending to eat it but who could I fool? Everyone here is a grown up and can see through me. Yes, I was hurt. Having high expectations of something or someone always makes one easily get hurt. From the corner of the eye, I saw Maria running towards us and we all turned our attention to us.

"I am sorry sir, but can I leave?" She asked me.

"Why Maria?" Mom asked.

"There has been an emergency," she said.

"What kind of emergency? Is your daughter fine?" I asked and she smiled.

"Yes, she is. Actually, she underwent chemotherapy and she is fully healed from cancer," she said happily.

"Then what kind of emergency is it?" Abigail asked.

"I work at two houses…." She was interrupted by mom.

"What?" She shouted.

"Mom, come down. Actually I am surprised since she was working at five different houses, at that time she needed money for her daughter," I explained.

"That doesn't explain why she has two jobs when her daughter is fully recovered," dad said.

"Yes sir. My other employer Adrianna is the one who paid for my daughter's treatment. As a sign of gratitude, I continued working there but most of the time Lilly is the one who is there while I am here," she said.

"That still doesn't explain the emergency," mom said.

"She is missing," she said.

"Who?" I asked.

"Your daughter?" Mom asked worriedly.

"No, my other employer, Adrianna. She is actually the same age as lily. Her and her sister are like my children," we all nodded in understanding.

"Alright you can go," dad told her.

"Thank you sir," she said.

Hardly had she reached the door when Mark shouted.

"Wait, have you just said Adrianna?" He asked and we looked at him.

"Yes, she is called Adrianna," Maria said.

"That's impossible," Abigail murmured.

"What is it sir?" Maria said.

"Nothing, maybe it is another Adrianna," he said.

"Do you have her photo?" Dad asked and she nodded.

She took out her phone and started scrolling at it. She later gave dad the phone and from his horrified look I knew it was the same Adrianna who was a mile away.

"Do you know her sir?" Maria asked.

"No, I don't think so. But Adrianna , who I know, I haven't seen for a long time and she is part of the mafia so I can't say whether it is her or not," dad said and we looked at him suspiciously.

"Ooh. Okay sir, I don't think our Adrianna is part of the mafia. Most of the time, she and Ivy stay at home. They only got out when their dad needed them and Adrianna killed him one month ago," she said.

We were all shocked. She killed Victor? What had happened?

"Do you mind telling us why she killed her father?" Mark asked.

"Of course. Apparently, the girls had taken some kids under her father's care when they were renovating the orphanage. During that time, their father raped four girls and after Adrianna investigated, she found that not only had her done that but only had been raining Ivy for the past ten years. Out of anger, she avenged what had happened to her sister by killing him," she explained.

"Thank you Maria, sorry about that. Hope you find her soon," dad said as he returned her phone.

"Excuse me. I will take my leave now," she said and we nodded our heads. After making sure she had left the house, I exhaled the breath I had not noticed I held.

"That was fast," Abigail said.

"What was fast?" Paul asked.

"It has been only sick hours since you guys captured her and she has already been declared as a missing person," she said.

"You are thinking about that when I am trying to imagine how she killed her dad," Mark said and I rolled my eyes.

"If she is not part of the mafia, then what was she doing there? And even in the charity ball?" Dad asked.

"And how does she know all the mafia leaders by their names and what they look like?" Mom asked.

"There is something fishy about her," Mike said.

"The hostages were released and are back at home safely," Bob said after being silent for long.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Breaking news," he said.

"If that's the case, maybe she isnt working with Elijah. Maybe her mafia has sent her to go and rescue the hostages," dad said. I hope so too.

"There is something which can tell us whether she is working with Elijah or not," Paul said and we all looked at him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"If the hostages have been rescued, that means that Elijah is mad and since most Mafias' know that he was the one behind it, he can't declare Adrianna as missing. He could have kept quiet but since Adrianna has been declared as missing in the underworld, that means she isnt working for Elijah," Mark said. Everyone seemed to be in their thoughts. Ivan was playing with a tablet so he wasn't even paying attention to what we were saying.

True, he has a point but I know better.

"What if they don't want people to know that she is working with Elijah?" I asked. "They would declare her as a missing person so that people don't suspect she is working with him," I said.

There is no way I am going to be a fool and agree with her. They may be fooling us so that we can release her.

I ignored them and continued eating. Honestly, I am also hoping that she is not working with them. I finished my meal and excused myself. I knew that Maria was with Ivy so I can try and reach her. I took my phone and called her.

"Sir," Maria said on the other line.

"Is Ivy there?" I asked.

"Yes she is but why do you want to talk to her?" She asked out of curiosity. I need to be very careful so that I cannot get caught.

"Uhm. I saw how worried you are and since you are like a second mother, I want to help you guys find her," I said, hoping she would believe me.

"Ooh. Okay, let me hand over the phone," she said and I breathed out.

"My boss wants to talk to you," I heard her say.

"Why?" Ivy asked.

"He claims that he wants to help. I had informed him what happened," Maria said.

"Sure," she said.

"Hello," she said.

"Hello Ivy," I said.

"Ace?" She asked.

"How did you recognize me immediately?" I asked her because I was so amused.

"So you are Maria's other boss. I can't believe you had Adrianna under your nose but you never saw it,"she said while chuckling.

"Ooh, maybe I didn't find her that time but she is in my basement right now," I said with a smirk.

"I swear if you have hurt her, you will really regret it. I know where all your warehouses are located, your main mansion and hide out so don't play with fire," she warned and I shook my head.

"You don't know anything," I said.

"Really? Then I guess you have hurt her. You have hurt my only family Ace Vincenzo and I will make you pay!" She sneered and hung up.

What have I gotten myself to!!

I ran my hands in my hair and walked back to the living room where I knew I would find everyone.

"Abigail, get Ivan to safety, right now," I shouted as I went in.

"Ace, what happened?" Dad asked worriedly.

"I may have told Ivy that I have her sister. She has figured out that I have tortured Adrianna and has told me I am going to regret it," I said.

"Shit!" Mike said as he ran to take his son.

"Daddy, what is going on?" Ivan asked.

"What were you thinking for Christ sake?" Mom shouted at me. "You know those siblings aren't people to be messed with in the first place!"

"I thought that we could make a truce. I am very sorry," I said.

We heard screams even before Mike and Abigail made it to the stairs.

"I am not here to fight, I want Adrianna now," we heard a voice but we could not locate it.

"Daddy, what is that?" Ivan said and we all looked at him.

"What are you talking about?" Mike asked and Ivan pointed at a direction and that is when we saw tiny objects in the air. We hurriedly took our guns and started shooting at them.

"Oops, wrong move," it said and we all went flying. They are really dangerous. I looked at Ivan worried for his life. "Unlike you, we don't hurt people with no evidence."

"But you have just hurt my men," I said angrily.

"And you have hurt my boss," it sneered and I was thrown to the wall.

"Wow, uncle, what have you really thrown at you?" Ivan said happily and I shook my head at his stupidity.

"I am not going to hurt your nephew, as I said we aren't heartless," it said.

"I won't ask again, where the hell is Adrianna?" It shouted. " And if I were you, I would always watch my back because you have made enmity with Ivy and she doesn't care about anything or anyone apart from her sister. So I won't be shocked if I am ordered every time she feels that I should attack you or your warehouse. Ooh about that, one of your warehouses down the city is already down."

"What!" Dad shouted.

"As I said, you made a wrong move by kidnapping her. I will give you an idea to keep yourselves safe but now I need the directions as to why Adrianna," it said.

Should I trust an object or do what my mind tells me to?
