Chapter 87: Chapter 87

THREE WEEKS LATER

~ IVY ~

I ran my fingers through my tangled hair and sighed as I looked around at my chaotic room. Clothes were scattered across the floor, along with several books that had tumbled from the shelves. The bed was unmade, and various items were scattered across the duvet. In short, my room looked like a hurricane had blown through it. If there was an award for the most disastrous room, I would have won it hands down.

My boyfriend would have to take the blame for this mess. Even though I was the one who had left everything scattered around, I couldn't help but feel like it was his fault somehow. What on earth was he thinking, setting up a last – minute date like that, without giving me time to prepare?

Don't get me wrong. I was thrilled about the date. I was just feeling a bit stressed out because I didn't have much time to prepare. And, on top of that, I was having the worst time trying to find the perfect outfit. Nothing in my closet seemed right. I was panicking and didn't know what to do. Anyway, I had called my best friend and asked her to come over and help me pick out an outfit.

Despite the stress of it all, I could not help but feel excited. After all, this was our first official date since we started dating.

I sank down onto the edge of my bed, drumming my fingers on the table beside me. I was going to kill Romeo for putting me through this.

Just then, my door flew open with a loud bang. I jumped up, startled. It was my best friend, Joey, standing in the doorway. I hurried over to give her a hug, grinning from ear to ear.

"I have been waiting for you. What kept you so long?" I asked, laughing with relief.

Joey just scowled and pulled away from the hug. "Is this really my best friend? Why are you so happy?" She asked back.

I let out a sheepish laugh. "I don't even know why I'm so giddy. I have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about the date," I confessed.

Joey rolled her eyes, holding out the bag she was carrying. "You're head over heels, girl. I wonder how you'll act if he proposes to you," She uttered, finally flashing a smile at me.

"I would probably faint if he ever proposed to me," I joked, peeking into the bag.

I gasped when I saw what was inside. It was a beautiful white sundress with a floral pattern. It was the perfect outfit for a picnic date.

I threw my arms around my best friend, hugging her tightly.

"I figured you would probably wear something like a t-shirt and jeans, so I picked this out for you," Joey explained.

"Thank you so much!" I gushed, still admiring the dress.

I peeled off my t-shirt and shorts, quickly slipping on the sundress. I checked my reflection in the full length mirror, and was amazed at how perfect the dress was. It had a sexy cut from the thigh, but was still appropriate for a picnic.

Joey helped me pull my hair up into a half up style, leaving a few tendrils of hair framing my face. I finished the look off with a pair of white sneakers. I was ready to go.

I paced the floor as I waited for Romeo to pick me up. Meanwhile, Joey had gone off to her boyfriend's house.

A few minutes later, my phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Romeo, saying he was outside. I took a deep breath, willing my heart to stop pounding so hard. Why was I so nervous? This was not my first time seeing him, after all. I grabbed my pink handbag and headed downstairs.

There he was, standing in the living room, looking as handsome as ever. He was pacing the room, looking every inch the Greek god he was. How could someone be so beautiful?

"My queen,"

Romeo approached me with a devilish grin on his face. He pressed his lips on mine, his fingers tracing my hips.

"Fuck, I can't believe how perfect you are," He muttered.

I broke the kiss, biting my bottom lip. "If we continue like this, we won't be able to make it to the date." I uttered, smiling shyly.

Romeo laughed. "Why the hell are you acting so shy? Like, I haven't had you moaning loudly to my gentle strokes before. Like - "

My cheeks turned pink. I interrupted him, kissing him roughly. He wrapped his arms around my waist, deepening the kiss.

If I didn't cut him off with a kiss, Romeo would surely continue his dirty talk.

****

I laid on the picnic blanket, staring up at the blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds. The warm sun beat down on my skin, and I could feel a light breeze ruffling my hair. Romeo laid next to me, his head propped up on one arm, with a big smile on their face. We were silent, simply enjoying the simple pleasures of the moment, the sounds of the birds singing and the rustling of the trees; the only sounds in the air.

"Why are you so quiet?" Romeo asked, his voice soft.

"I am just enjoying the moment," I replied, turning to look at him. "What's on your mind? What's that smile for?"

"You," He blurted out, his eyes shining. "I can't help but smile when I am around you. I just love you so much. I can't imagine a life without you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

As I looked into his deep green eyes, my heart fluttered. "I love you so much more, Romeo," I spoke softly.

"I made mistakes, and I hurt you. I'm sorry," He uttered, taking my hand.

My brows drew together. "I hate when you dwell on the past."

"Let's focus on the present. I'm here with you, and you're here with me. That's all that matters," I added.

"You're the best," Romeo murmured, a smile playing on his lips.

We fell silent for a moment, both of us gazing up at the sky. I couldn't help but steal glances at him every now and then, admiring his handsome features, the curve of his jaw, and the way his hair fell across his forehead.

I wanted to stay here with him forever, enjoying this perfect moment. He was my first love, my first kiss. He would always be special to me.

THE END.
