Chapter 417: Chapter 417: Uncle Seven Will Never Be Scared to Death
She wouldn’t fall to her death; he had no chance to push Xiaosuisui off. Just then, a shout reached his ears.
"Stop! If you run again, I won’t hold back!"
Ji Youzhi and his group looked toward the source of the shout. A man from the Divine Hunter Bureau was chasing someone holding a bundle, and they were heading towards West Forest Lake.
Seeing this, Ji Youzhi quickly gathered his Qi and spread his arms, rushing towards the man with the bundle. By then, the man had already reached the edge of West Forest Lake and was making a motion to throw the bundle into the water.
Just then, Ji Youzhi’s longsword thrust out. Blood gushed from the man’s hands as he let out a pained scream, "AH!" The bundle dropped to the ground. Ji Youzhi picked it up, but before he could inspect it, he sensed something was amiss. He snapped his head up and saw someone on the opposite bank of West Forest Lake, waving a bolt of fabric at him!
Ji Youzhi’s expression changed drastically. It was too late to rush over. Just then, he heard Xie Pan’Er’s startled cry, "That’s the real bolt of fabric!"
Immediately after, Xiaosuisui’s loud yell followed, "Stop right there!"
Then, his vision blurred. Xie Pan’Er’s figure flashed past him, followed by another scream of "AH!" echoing through the air.
Ji Youzhi focused his gaze. To his astonishment, it was Xie Pan’Er, holding Xiaosuisui, who had kicked the man carrying the bolt of fabric to the ground! And there she was, still cradling Xiaosuisui, standing right on the man’s stomach!
Ji Youzhi rubbed his forehead. This works too?
Xie Pan’Er pressed down hard on the man’s stomach with her foot, afraid he might roll over and fling the fabric into West Forest Lake.
"Suisui, quickly, go pick up the fabric," she said, putting Suisui down.
"Okay, Pretty Sister! Press down harder on him, don’t let him get up!"
Xiaosuisui acknowledged and hurried to pick up the fabric. Ji Youzhi also rushed over. "My heavens, Suisui, you scared your uncle to death!"
Ji Youzhi waved his hand. Several members of the Divine Hunter Bureau quickly moved forward, apprehended the man, and took the bolt of fabric from Xiaosuisui’s hands.
"I’m unscarable! Seventh Uncle, you can never scare me to death!" Xiaosuisui giggled, her small hands on her hips, the black veil on her face fluttering in the wind, looking particularly delightful.
"Mm! With words like yours, Seventh Uncle might really go his whole life without being scared to death!"
Ji Youzhi came over and picked her up. "Let’s go! Time to head back!"
As he was being shackled by two officers from the Divine Hunter Bureau and led to the Celestial Prison, the man kept replaying the events in his mind. Where exactly did I go wrong?
I was clearly already at West Forest Lake. One more step, and I could have thrown that fabric into the water. But I don’t know what happened; my mind suddenly went blank at the last moment. I didn’t know anything. Then, two figures, one large and one small, suddenly fell from the sky. And in the end, I was caught just like that.
Ji Youzhi, holding the newly recovered bolt of fabric, went to Ji Youran’s Courtyard and called out loudly, "Second Brother!"
But no one answered.
A young man carrying a medicine basket on his back walked in and, upon seeing Ji Youzhi, asked, "And you are?"
Ji Youzhi looked at the young man before him, finding him somewhat unfamiliar. He asked in confusion, "Who are you? And my Second Brother? Where has he gone?"
The young man hurriedly cupped his hands in a salute and said, "My name is Zhao Fei. I am Master’s disciple!"
"Master?" Ji Youzhi was puzzled.
"Yes, Second Young Master! A few days ago, Second Young Master accepted me as his first disciple!"
Zhao Fei quickly explained, a faint, bashful smile on his face. It turned out that when the Princess had come to the Palace for a short stay the other day, Second Young Master hadn’t treated him that way because of any peculiar preferences. Instead, it was because Second Young Master thought he was a genius in medical studies and wanted to take him as a disciple!
Thankfully, he later passed Second Young Master’s test, and that’s how this fortuitous opportunity came about!
Second Brother is actually taking a disciple? "That’s certainly a good thing. By the way, where is my Second Brother? I have something very important to discuss with him!"
