Chapter 70: Chapter 70

CHAPTER 70

DINAH’S POV

Her phone was buzzing in her pocket.

Grumbling and dropping the bottle of beer she was drinking, she stood up kissing Mikey on the cheeks, and giving an excuse she left the noisy bar, going outside to answer her phone call.

Taking the phone out of her pocket, she swiped the answer button and said, “Tessa…”

She could hear Tessa’s squeal on the other end of the line, and Dinah smiled surreptitiously.

She could tell that her best friend was missing her already, and for a while her heart swelled at the outburst of affection.

“How are you doing?” Tessa asked her finally saying something, and not even waiting for her response she added again, “Lord knows how much I miss you D…”

“I miss you so much Tessa.” Dinah said, and she really meant it.

She didn’t know that she could feel this emotional for someone, but well she would attribute it to her leave and the fact that she was itching to bully someone.

She missed all her memories at the orphanage, with her friends safe for Miranda who had gone berserk. Well, she was indeed enjoying her time with Mikey and his biker gang.

At least she got sex on a daily, outings travelling to various cities, living with off drugs, getting high and drunk and just living her best life.

One part of her wanted her life to be like this forever, but that lone soul in her yearned for true love and deep affection and caring just like the one Christian shared with that bitch Sara.

At the reminder of Sara, her mood quickly changed.

Just the thought of two of them together, so in love because it was evident, Dinah’s all time rage returned.

She was tired, running out of patience and she couldn’t wait for the festival to take place.

That day when hell would rain, and finally her plans would be accomplished.

“Well, how’s Mikey, and the rest of the gang?” Tessa asked, interrupting her thought and a smile plastered on her face at the rollercoaster of surreal feelings and happiness she had been enjoying during her stay here.

She was treated like a queen here, as she as seen as Mikey’s girlfriend, and even though he was not faithful to her and still flirted with other girls, she was seen as the one at the top.

This made all Mikey’s biker friends, and people under him fear and respect her so much.

Safe to say, she ruled this turf being on top like always, and she reveled in this feeling.

She proceeded to tell Tessa everything, and more about how the way she was being worshiped here, and as usual Tessa was happy for her.

“I can’t wait to get out of this shelter finally, and come and be with you.” Tessa squealed and she just hummed.

After Miranda’s betrayal, Dinah kept it at the back of her mind not to trust anyone, and this rule still applied to Tessa and even Mikey who were like the closest people to her right now.

For a brief moment, she imagined Tessa coming over to stay here, and then stealing all her glory.

Tessa could even steal her boyfriend, because some times Dinah had caught Mikey giving Tessa flirty looks one which she deflated because of her trust on Dinah and to protect their friendship, but still she just couldn’t give her all her trust yet, would she?

She didn’t want to think about that, besides she knew that Tessa couldn’t dare mess up with her, not in this life!

Smirking, Dinah shook her head, and diverted the topic, as she said, “I heard the festival has been shifted to first week of next month.”

“Yeah, that’s why I wanted to call you D. I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with those organizers, I just can’t wait for our plan to come to life and they’re postponing it every damn time.” Tessa cursed, hissing too and Dinah just sighed.

She was already becoming frustrated, as she wanted to do everything quickly and sit back and watch chaos rain in this little town.

“I guess you just need to plan more then. She’s not going anywhere you know. She’s still here, and we can do whatever we want with her, you know right?” Tessa questioned and Dinah hummed approvingly.

“So talk to me. Gist me, how has the shelter being?” Dinah asked, as she walked to a nearby seat and sat down.

Her legs were hurting her, and heaving a huge sigh of relief, she listened as Tessa indeed told her all the happenings in the shelter and beyond…

…….

SARA

“Just where did Ariel go to for goodness sake?” Sara asked as her feet’s wandered aimlessly round the shelter’s hall.

She had been looking for Ariel, since morning wanting them to go get breakfast together, but well her best friend was nowhere to be found.

Worriedly, she had called her cell number countless times, even trying it a this moment but still yet it was switched off and now Sara was entering panic mode.

They had slept together last night, after even watching movies on a friend’s laptop at the shelter and bading each other goodnight, only for Sara to wake up early this morning to see that Ariel had vanished mysteriously.

Oh well… If Ariel had any important place to be so early, she would have informed her of course the night before, and Sara for sure knew that Ariel didn’t go to the supermarket at all.

She tried calling Daniel, Ariel’s boyfriend to ask about her whereabouts, but his phone had rang and rang without him picking at all.

Her head still bent, eyebrows furrowed in worry Sara typed away at her phone, alerting Daniel of her disappearance, and also at the same time proceeding to call Christian.

Her finger hovered at the dial button on her phone as she contemplated calling him.

It was early one, and also she knew how worried he could get if he so much as heard a little bit if panic and worry in her voice.

He could even rush down the shelter and assist in looking for Ariel, if she requested it and she knew how much of a fuss he could be over her well-being.

Calming her down, and doing everything himself.

At the thought of his caring gestures, and the subtle reminder that Christian would do anything for her should she ask of it a tingling sensation found its way in her heart.

She started walking, head bent, as she tried dialing Christian but just before she could press the button, she bumped into someone coming opposite her.

“Wha…” She started out loud, but stopped when she looked up and saw that it was Miranda.

Their new friend, and former bully troupe.

On her hands was a tray of food, supposedly her breakfast and a smile lit up Sara’s face for a moment, as she assessed the large amount of food on the tray.

Miranda, still chubby never joked with her meals, and it was one quality attribute of hers.

“When going to get breakfast, I saw you here wandering, and you’re still here?” Miranda said, breaking the silence and then she added, “P.s sorry for bumping into you, I was staring dazedly at my meal. The matron gave me additional snacks and I couldn’t be more elated.”

Sara laughed heartily, of course she would never change. “What are you so worked up about though?” Miranda asked again, and her shoulders deflating, Sara replied, “I haven’t seen Ariel since I morning. I woke up and she was not on the bed. I’m trying her phone but it’s not going. I’m so worried.”

“I can see.” Miranda said with a small smile, “You know I really admire you both friendship. More like sisters in my opinion. You’re so caring towards her and vice versa, I’m jealous. I’ve always looked at you both even back then, when I was still with Dinah and Tessa.”

“Really?” Sara questioned inquisitively, the little praises warming her up and Miranda nodded erratically.

“Well, she’s like my sister. Apart from my boyfriend Christian, she’s all I’ve got you know.”

Sara noticed a dark look and a frown on Miranda’s face, the moment she mentioned Christian’s name but it was quickly replaced with a smile.

She was overthinking, Sara thought to herself but she was not going to mention Christian again.

“Well…” Miranda cleared her throat and then said, “I saw Ariel earlier, leaving the shelter’s gate with a guy I suppose.”

“Really?” Sara asked in a whisper, her mind wandering as she wondered who Ariel had left with so early in the morning without informing her.

Was it Daniel? Maybe they had a surprise early morning date, and at that thought Sara smirked.

No wonder her line had been off, and Daniel hadn’t been picking up her calls.

The two silly lovebirds. She thought to herself laughing.

But then Ariel, had done bad.

Why would she leave without informing her? Sara thought to herself.

Well, they would deal with that issue when she got back.

“You know who she left with right?” Miranda asked, eyebrows raised inquisitively and breaking into her thoughts, Sara nodded.

“That’s cool then. Why don’t you go get your breakfast tray, and come meet me at the cafeteria. I’ll save a seat for you, come on.” Miranda said, and Sara agreed.

“That’s nice, I’ll be right back.” She replied, tucking her phone in her pocket, and walking away. “I’ll be waiting.” Miranda shouted at her back, and Sara just smiled and scurried away…
