Chapter 36: Chapter 36
CHAPTER 36
DINAH
She watched from afar as that chaotic bitch Sara played with her man, the way he lovingly wrapped her in his arms under the tree, brought goosebumps all over her skin.
'I should be the only one he touches this way.' She thought to herself as she tapped away at her feet angrily, she was in her usual spot at the construction site where she stayed everyday, getting glimpses of Christian's sexy body.
But today had been disappointing as she had gotten there late and it seemed they were on break, and to make matters worse, while she was busy looking around for him, she had seen a little group having a picnic under a peach tree, and as she had scanned through, she had seen Sara and Christian together.
This bond, she was definitely going to break it, seems the threats she had been sending secretly to Sara were not working as she did not show any sign of worries, or even if she was fazed she did a damn good job of concealing it.
Thinking furiously on her next line of action, she vowed to up her ante a little bit.
**********
"Bro, welcome home." Christian's little brother and the baby of the house greeted him as he came back from work.
"How are you my boy." He asked and the cute hairy little boy nodded and answered, "I'm fine thank you."
"That's good to hear, you are really improving in your greeting habits, where's mum?" He asked plunking down on the sofa tiredly.
"She's taking her bath." His brother answered and he nodded in response.
After Sara had surprised him today at the site, his mood had been lifted up, he didn't know why, but he just felt happy and satisfied like a lovesick puppy, which he knew he was.
She had stayed with him till he had finished and they had walked home together, parting at a T junction leading to their separate abodes, he had wanted to escort her down to the shelter, but she had stopped him, insisting he needed rest and directing him back to his house, which he had reluctantly obeyed.
Now thinking back to their date, a loving smile spread across his face.
"I can see someone had a fantastic picnic filled afternoon today." His mom said interrupting his thoughts and he opened his eyes seeing his mom, smiling he sat upright and looked at his mom mockingly.
"What's with the look, didn't you enjoy your date?" She asked raising her eyebrows questioningly and looking at him.
"Well, I did thank you, were you the one that told Sara I worked at the site, like did you plan this again?" Christian asked his mom, and she just smiled at him.
"Mom, talk to me already."
"Well, you don't want surprises but you like surprising people right?" She asked and he started getting frustrated.
"Mom, answer me!" He exclaimed, looking at his mom and putting his hands on his head.
"Okay, okay fine, well I didn't tell her you worked at the site, neither did I organize the date, I only helped package the snacks."
"Huh?" Christian said not believing this story one bit, who else could have told her where he worked, only Daniel then it seemed.
"Okay let me recap, she actually came here with fruits and some money saying she wanted to surprise you with a picnic, I collected the fruits, gave her a picnic basket, helped her prepare the food in the kitchen, and off she went, poof." His mom said demonstrating with her hands mockingly and Christian just smiled.
"Okay fine, I've heard you, let me go and take my bath I'm not eating this night, I'm already filled up." Christian said rubbing his tummy fondly.
"Okay sir." His mom saluted and he laughed as he went inside.
Sara and Ariel counted the money they had gathered these past few days, they had saved close to a thousand dollars.
Looking at her friend in excitement, Sara held the hefty dollar notes in her hands, waving it excitedly in thin air.
Today was proving to be a very good one for her, after she had gone to see Christian, and they had had a lovely picnic under the peach tree, they had discussed while he had lovingly stroked her hair.
His friends or co-workers rather had joined in the little feast she had prepared and no sooner than some minutes they had finished everything she had brought.
When she had come back to the shelter, Ariel had asked her how her day had gone and had brought the suggestion that they should count the joint savings they had acquired from their part time jobs and she had agreed.
Now, smiling and looking at the large sum of money they had managed to save, she felt relieved and happy.
The door to their room opened and they both looked up to see who it was, Sara inwardly sighed when she saw it was the mean trio, Dinah and her gang, what did they want now? She asked herself.
Ariel hissed loudly, rolled her eyes and frustratingly faced them, "What are you guys doing here? Barging into our room and invading our privacy, How dare you come into this room like you own it, that's rude of you."
Sara placed her palm atop Ariel's shoulders drawing circles and trying to calm her down down.
"Oh wow, you guys don't have respect again, well i just came to tell you both to mind your steps in this shelter, especially you Ariel.".
Dinah spoke looking up at Sara but pointing her fingers at Ariel.
"Well, I don't get you guys, you barge into our room, laying orders on us like our mother, or what self? Look Dinah, I don't have your goddamn time, as you can see we are busy, not like you jobless ingrate." Ariel had not finished talking when Dinah bounced on her forcefully and pulled at her hair, making her wail in pain.
Before Sara could process what was happening, they had already began cat fighting, pulling at each other's hair and screaming loudly.
Sara bent to separate them, and immediately the door opened and three matrons walked in.
They had finally be caught in a very compromising situation, and no amount of plea could get them out now.
"What's going on here?" One of the matrons asked and Sara just bent her head in shame, she never wanted to be caught in any situation that would soil her name, but here she was already in one and there was no way out.
Looking up at her friend who stood defiantly without fear at the matrons, Dinah just stood chewing at her fingers angrily, seeing no one trying to make an attempt to answer the question she sighed quietly and made to speak, when another matron interrupted her saying, "Since no one wants to answer the question, the three of you should go to the head matron's office and kneel down." Pointing at her, Dinah and Ariel she motioned for them to move to the door.
Bowing her head in shame, she obeyed quietly as Dinah and Ariel followed silently at her back.
CHAPTER 37 – LOVE SCRIBBLES
DINAH
Laying down on her bed, Dinah smiled wickedly as she thought back to the events that happened today, and she felt giddy.
She and her gang had intentionally went into the room to cause trouble, before then she had planned with her friends that as soon she initiated a fight with either Sara or Ariel they should go call the matrons.
She had actually wanted to fight Sara, but her stubborn friend, Ariel had provoked her and she had become seriously angry and had pounced on her furiously.
Sara being the good friend she was had rushed to the rescue, and as luck would have it, the matrons had bursted in and had directed them to the head matron's office, what she had clearly wanted.
Although they had been put on indefinite suspension for a month, and had to do the sanitary cleaning, she had finally achieved her goal of dragging Sara and her friend innocent reputation in the shelter into mud.
Dinah had no worries, even though the head matron had collected their phones, automatically seizing them till their punishment was over.
She was very happy at least step one of her mission was accomplished.
*******
Some Days Later..
Christian walked along the streets leading to Sara's shelter, since their lovely picnic, he had not heard nor seen from her, and he had become worried.
He had tried calling her cell phone, and it had been switched off as usual.
After his shift at the construction site, he had decided to go and check on her, to know if everything was okay with her and also share a very good news with her. Smiling to himself he got to the shelter's gate and knocked quietly, and an old man whom he had not seen before probably the security man answered and asked what he was doing here.
"Good afternoon Sir." He said and the gray haired man nodded his head in response and waved his hands telling him to continue.
"Well, I came to see my friend, I've not heard from her and her cell phone hasn't been going through, I'm just worried and I decided to come check up on her."
Nodding again the security man just smiled and began to speak, "Well, my son, just tell me you came to see your girlfriend whom you haven't seen for days, and stop disguising okay."
Embarrassed at being caught so easily, Christian just smiled as the jovial old man opened the gate's door wildly and motioned for him to enter, pointing at a large building by the left and telling him to go look for her there.
Thanking the old man profusely, Christian moved to the building, swinging the large heavy doors he entered into the large hall and walked to the receptionist desk.
"Good afternoon ma'am." He greeted looking up at the kind woman in her mid-forties who smiled at him.
"Yes, my son, what's a handsome looking lad like you doing here? How may I be of help to you? Are you looking for someone, one of my girls?" She asked him smiling funnily and he just smiled and replied, "Well, you can say that, I'm actually looking for Sara Parker."
Raising her eyebrows, the beautiful matron nodded and looked down at a big folder she was holding, "Well, this person has been prohibited from recieving visitors for 1 month." She told him and he gasped in shock.
"I don't understand you, why is that?" He asked confused, when they had last seen Sara had not told him anything about this and he was hurt a bit.
"Well, she disobeyed a rule, which is not in my place to disclose, her and two other girls, and they have been punished for a month."
Christian sighed and shaked his head, "Oh my, this is so serious. So there's no way I can see her right?" He asked.
"Yes, my son, I'm so sorry about that, but you can drop a message for her, I'll surely deliver it." The kind woman said and Christian nodded in gratitude.
Collecting a piece of paper from her, and pen, he quickly scribbled a note telling her to call him that it was urgent, folding the paper, he handed the note over the matron thanking her profusely and headed out.
Thanking the kind security man, Christian went home, disappointed but still relieved that Sara was safe and not in a harmful situation.
………………..
Sara walked downstairs intending to go to the shelter's garden to meet Ariel.
Since the suspension, her daily routine had been to wake up, eat, and go to the garden.
She had not called Christian and she knew he would be very worried, as for her work she knew it was long gone, because she had not called and she couldn't even call cause she didn't know the kind of excuse to give them, she had not written on her CV that she was an orphan.
Sighing inwardly, she removed all thoughts from her head and walked down the stairs, she had safely gotten down and was in the hall when she heard someone calling her name.
Turning back, she saw Mrs Della, one of the matrons and a nice one at that, signaling for her to come over, wondering why she was being called, she went to meet her at the receptionist desk.
"Good day ma'am." She greeted while waiting patiently, "How are you my dear?"
"Fine ma.", "Well you might be wondering while I called you here, well an handsome young lad came here looking for you, I told him that you couldn't receive visitors and he gave me this to give you." Handing over a piece of paper which she collected, Sara frowned in confusion, thinking who the mysterious person was.
Opening the note, she saw scribbles of a very familiar handwriting, one that she had come to love.
"Sara, I'm so worried about you, why is your line not going through, Call me! Yours, C."
Complete with some love emojis, Sara smiled warmly and folded the paper, placing the note in her pocket, she looked up at the matron who was looking at her intently, and she blushed hard.
Muttering a quiet thank you she thanked the woman and left for the garden.
ARIEL
Ariel watched as her best friend Sara walked into the garden, smiling shyly.
Just one person could put this kind of smile on her friend's face, and she was anxious to know what had happened.
"Hey lover girl, what took you so long?" She asked her as she came and sat down with her on the grass patch.
"Oh sorry, actually Mrs Della had a message for me, from Christian actually." Sara said smiling profusely.
Looking intently at her friend, the joy and happiness that radiated from her face, she wanted to have this kind of love, but she hadn't been lucky in love like her friend.
Although Christian's friend Daniel was disturbing her, she didn't like him that much to the extent of being in a relationship with him, and she was not even ready yet, shaking off all thoughts from her head, she listened as her friend told her how Christian had come to the shelter looking for her.
"But the problem now is, where do I get a cell phone to call him, all our phones have been seized. Oh God what do I do now!" Sara exclaimed putting her hands on her head.
"Don't worry, that's not a problem, I'll tell one or two of my good friends here at the shelter, to borrow me their cell, we'll bribe them, okay."
"Yeah, that's a fantastic idea." Sara said smiling and clapping happily.
"Fine, now let's discuss other things, rather than Christian, Christian, Christian...." Ariel trailed off looking at her best friend who was smiling at her.
"Yeah right." Sara said chuckling loudly.
