CHAPTER 31

MEETING HIM

Dinah walked into the large store intending to get some sanitary pads and other groceries for herself, she had just gotten some money from her drug dealer boyfriend, although she didn't love him, she was just with him to satisfy her personal needs and to get money to take care of her expenses.

Walking to the counter, Dinah came face to face with the most handsome boy or man rather she had ever seen, he was breathtakingly handsome, with wavy blond darkish hair and a nice muscular build, she couldn't stop staring at him.

Focusing intently on the notepad he was writing on, he didn't even notice when she walked up to the counter and intentionally placed her hands on his.

"Oh sorry, I... I... It was a mistake." She said making a mock effort to remove her hands from his, he was so stunning, biting his lips and smiling at her, he started saying something and Dinah literally drowned in his heavenly husky voice.

"Oh, it's nothing, it's my fault actually not noticing a customer coming into the store, I'm sorry, what do you want." He asked and Dinah just kept in staring at his lips.

"Hello, did you hear me?" He said again waving his hands at her face, snapping her from her trance.

"Well, I just need some female personal stuffs, you know, and other things like that so where can I get them." She asked looking round slowly.

"I definitely know what you mean." He answered smiling, and she smiled back at him leaning seductively trying to show some cleavage as she leant atop the counter, but he removed his face quickly from hers and pointed at a section while he said, "Well, I'll call my female attendant to guide you and show you what you need."

"Oh, that will be great." Keeping her disappointment to herself, she had expected to be shown round by him but reverse was the case.

"Excuse me, she'll be here to attend to you shortly, and I'll be right back, meanwhile in the mean time feel free to browse through the store." He said to her as he picked his note pad and left her alone.

ARIEL

Ariel couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Dinah browsing through the store's shelves, was she the one Christian had called her to attend to.

Still surprised, she walked up to her and tapped her shoulders, "How may I help you?"

She could see the confusion and shock on Dinah's face as she was being asked, "Help me, you came here and met me and you are asking me that silly question, what's your business, do you even work here?" Dinah said hissing rudely and Ariel just sighed and shaked her head.

"You can never ever change, I don't have time to exchange words with you, I work here, my boss told me to attend to a lost customer and I didn't even know you were the one, or else I wouldn't have accepted to come, what do you need."

"He's your boss, oh wow, is he fucking you already bitch, since you can decline him if he tells you to attend to a customer, are you guys that close?" Dinah said snidely leaning closely and whispering, "I will totally understand you know, he is definitely hot."

"I can't have an affair with my boss, what the hell are you even saying, look just follow me and I'll show you where the things you need are." Ariel said not even minding her and walking over to the section where female items were kept.

DINAH

To say she was shocked when she had saw Ariel was a story for another day, she had been enraged and bitter when she had found out that Ariel worked here. The fact that Ariel got to see this handsome creature everyday, while she was just seeing him today, had her heart pinching in bitterness.

"So does Sara work here too." She asked wanting to see if this was the work that gave them the little money they were spending so lavishly as she thought.

"And what's your business with that, you are starting to creep me out, you know you don't normally talk with people you think you are better off like this and you are still talking to me, I'm really surprised."

"Well, what if I wanted us to be friends?" She asked and Ariel stopped in shock and turned to face her.

ARIEL

Friends, she wanted them to be friends, this day couldn't get any better.

"Hey, I know your motive, you want us to be friends so you can use me to get closer to my boss, but you know what let me just burst your bubble, he already has a girlfriend, one he loves so much that he can't even do without, so take your mind of every illicit thoughts you are having already, okay."

With those words, Ariel left her standing with her mouth open and went to package her things on the counter.

CHRISTIAN

Christian saw Ariel coming to the counter furiously, her walking step was so fast as if she couldn't wait anymore to get out from where she was just coming from.

"Woah, Ariel what's pursuing you?" He asked her as he continued to watch as she placed the customers items on the counter and began to calculate the total amount furiously, punching away at the poor calculator with what he could only describe as anger.

"It's nothing, don't bother." She answered but he knew she was lying.

"Is it the new customer, have you attended to her, did she annoy or stress you?" He asked and talk about the devil the customer was coming to the counter.

"Just forget it." She said waving him off.

"You have a really bad attendant, can you believe she walked out on me without even attending to me properly?" The girl who had come to the store earlier today said to him sulking in a gross way.

Right from when she had entered the store, he had noticed her attention on him, she had tried acting seductive, unbuttoning the two top buttons of her shirt, and talking to him in a sweet manner, but he had ignored her, his thoughts drifting off to his girl, wondering what she was doing at the moment and he smiled.

"Hey, I'm talking to you? Can't you hear me, or is this how you all attend to customers over here? She said shouting rudely.

It seemed she had just gotten Ariel more angry because in just a second, Ariel answered her back, "Oh really, wow you really have some nerves, you don't know you are also a bad customer, or how about you tell my boss how you have been asking me personal questions about him, and how you even asked if I was dating him, huh?"

After she dropped this bombshell Christian opened and closed his mouth in shock as the customer's cheeks turned bright red with embarrassment.

"Well..... I'm..... Sorry.... Oh....." She seemed lost and Christian had pity on her.

"It's okay Ariel." He said to Ariel, turning to face the first time customer who was looking down he said to her, "Ma'am, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, on behalf of I and the store, we'll be giving you a 50 percent discount on all the items you bought today to apologize for what happened, how about that?"

"Its fine, that's very generous of you." She said looking up at him intimately and flirtily, he could sense Ariel was not happy with him bit there was nothing she could do about it, he didn't want anything to tarnish the image or reputation of the store.

When Ariel was done packaging the items, he collected the bag, handed it over to her and she left, turning to Ariel, she started to say something, but he just waved her off and went to the store room.

What a day! He thought to himself.
