Arjun (p. o. v)

I don't know how this one month went... daily morning and evening I use to call Priya... even sometimes video call.... today we are going to Priya village.. yes my marriage after two days... Anu and Tarun family and avinash family came to my home then we went together... me and dad in my car.. Tarun and his family in his car, avinash family in his car.. avinash is not coming with us.. I gave him some work... after 3hours journey we reached her home...

NO P. O. V

one month time skipped very quickly...

now it's marriage time.. Arjun family arrived to Priya home before 3days of marriage... along with Arjun family his sister Anu family and avinash family came...they reached at 5pm in the evening... Priya uncle and aunt along with grandparents welcomed them... sharu and her mom did aarathi to Arjun while welcoming home.... after having snacks they were chit chatting... Priya grandpa ask someone to help him in applying black colour dye for his hair...

grandma:-" let it be... why you want dye your white hairs to black hair..."

grandpa:-" many young girls will come... how it will be embarrassing me if they call me grandpa... I want to look young and enjoy my grand daughter marriage... if I get chance of my marriage with other woman... I can get rid of you oldie..."

grandma:-" how dare you...?!!"

divya(avinash sister) :-" come grandpa I will help you... "

grandpa:-" thank you daughter... what this oldie know about me... you know... many girls fall for my handsome face when I am young... Arjun did you loved anyone before Priya??"

Arjun nods his head as no...

grandpa:-" you are waste then... you didn't enjoy your youth... you should have met me before... I would have taught you..."

then everyone starts teasing grandpa and Arjun... then all ladies prepared dinner after dinner everyone slept... Arjun wants to speak with Priya in privately... but along with Priya her aunt and cousin were accompanying her... even along with him tarun and sanju were there...

somehow Arjun managed to escape from his room and his friends... when he came down to reach Priya room he heard some voice in sofa which is in living area.. he turned his face that side to see who... it was all male elders... Priya grandpa, her uncle, his dad, Avinash dad and Tarun dad were enjoying the drinks... Arjun think " these old people are enjoying here... we young are sleeping... ahhhh now I can't go and meet priya.."

Arjun dad(seeing Arjun) :-" why did you came in this mid night?? "

arjun:-" ahh that... that... water got over in my room... came to take that... "

Vijay (Priya uncle) :-" we crossed your age Arjun... why you need to lie... we know why you came... so only we all are drinking and keeping an eye upon you... go back to your room... you can meet Priya tomorrow morning..."

with no choice Arjun cursing his bad luck went back to his room... actually all his friends were pretending like sleeping... when Arjun come back... he see his friends are staring at him...

Arjun:-" what ?? why you guys are looking at me?? "

tarun:-" where you went?? "

arjun:-" to bring water... "

Tarun :-" oh then where is it?? "

sanju:-" I heard mama(priya uncle) telling you go back to room... "

Arjun:-" yeah... he said.." with anger face he told..

seeing Arjun reaction his friends starts laughing... poor Arjun...!! then with no option he tries to sleep but no use. he took his phone and texted to Priya "hey are you sleeping??" hoping his love should reply him... but this time luck didn't gave hand to him... Priya texted back...

priya:-" yes sleeping... why you texted me... not getting sleep.. "

arjun:-" how can I love... after one month I am here.. but still i am unable to hug you... "

Priya:-" same here... come to terrace..."

arjun:-" how will you come... in living area all old males are having drinks.. "

Priya:-" I will come somehow you go first and wait for me.. "

arjun:-" okay"

then after 20mins... and after confirming that everyone are sleeping.. he slowly goes to terrace... here Priya also slowly gets up from bed without making noise.. she also goes to terrace.. Arjun was already waiting.. after seeing Priya... he hugs her tightly as much as pulling close to him... Priya also hugs him back... they stayed like that only for few minutes... then Arjun breaks the hug and he starts kissing her forehead, eyes, nose and then lips... he kissed her like there is no tomorrow... when Priya is out of breath he left her.. but still he was not satisfied... he again seal her lips with his... they hears someone coming towards terrace... they break the kiss and go back towards their room...

in the morning... marriage ritual started...

first ritual:- uur kuuduva or Karik muripa...

it is celebrating on first day of wedding... every village members participate in this... and accompanying the groom(arjun) to bring the bride(priya home)... as they already here.. elder takes him to temple.. after pooja from temple Arjun comes to Priya home...

first day ritual is going on... everyone together prepared "Pandal" with manga leaves, brunches of banana.... then in Priya side bangle function started... some ladies will put... she can wear any type of colour of Bangels.. but black colour bangel is main... bride as put two or three black colour bangles in her hand then she can choose any other colours.. after that they enjoy lunch and in the evening for close relative and friends there will a small party... mainly in kodagu wine and pork dish is special... but grandpa didn't gave permission for it.. everyone requested him.. then he granted permission for wine.. then sharu and sanju and Tarun went and brought wine and pork.. ladies did some two or three pork dishes.. then they dance for kodagu tradition bits... Tarun and Arjun doesn't know the steps... they were just following Sanjay and vijay(priya uncle)..

Next day before going to wedding hall... groom is dressed in white long sleeved kupya(outfit) and secured at the waist with a red and gold silk chele... Arjun dad lights the lamp... and tells Arjun to pray and get blessing from all elders.. after praying... Tarun mom and avinash mom and Anu as they are married women... they all put water on him... then they told him to take bath... and avinash mom puts a chain which is a symbol showing Arjun as a groom...

In this time for Priya also... for Priya also her grandma and aunt put water on her.. then they told her to bath... her aunt ties "pathak" (it's a chain) to Priya neck.. this chain shows her as a symbol of bride and married woman... before Arjun enter wedding hall Priya member side reaches as they have to welcome groom...

Arjun wears a long white sleeved kupya(white outfit) and holds the genre thande(decorated with beaten sliver and Tony bells) in his right hand and chale(a silk gold colour cloth) around his waist..a heavy thodang(a metal clasp of brass or silver, fixed at his waist) hold a Kathi (kodava war Knife) ...

Priya wears a red colour saree.. but Saree petal appears at the back...and the end of the Saree is brought below the left shoulder and secured over the right shoulder in the form of knot called "molakattu".. then bride wears Jewels matching to Saree...

BAALE BRIUD: STEAM CUTTING

It's one of main ritual in coorg marriage... on the path of entering wedding hall.. A row of nine or multiple of three... banana plant stem are fixed vertically to small wooden staked driven to ground. Priya uncle "vijay" is given honour to cut these stem, when groom(arjun) arrives.. he cuts the stem one by one by showing his energy in one go.. and then he dance joyfully to the sound of valaga along with others who presented their....

Then groom enters the wedding hall... as Anu is pregnant.. avinash sister divya carries coconut, rice, jaggery and some other items as groom sister while entering the hall and gives to bride(priya)... and from bride side one as hold umbrella for groom.. so this responsibility was taken by Sanjay...

SAMMANDA KODUPA:-"

After that they make Arjun and Priya to sit together... groom(arjun) should shower the bride(priya) with rice... then Priya aunt comes and bless them.. she takes hand full rice and shower on their heads and offers a sip of milk from the tiny pot.. and follows by everyone.. after everyone blessing them... Priya aunt ties a gold coin in the Saree of Priya on shoulder... and then they lights lamp... both side elder comes in front of that lamp and starts their traditional dialogue to say..

NEXT IS BATTE THADPA:-

After marriage Priya is now ready to go with Arjun to his home... but her cross cousin(sanju) blocks their path and tells Arjun that "Priya is his right... he won't allow him to take" just for teasing.. then to convince Sanjay... Arjun as to give him something... so Arjun ask him what he want?? sanju replies that he need 1million money and Iphone... Arjun grants his wish... then takes Priya to his home....

so Priya bid bye to her grandparents and uncle and aunt then she goes with Arjun... and everyone returns to Arjun home along with him....

In the evening 8pm.. they all reached Arjun home... as they married in coorg or kodagu style... so they decided to welcome Priya in that style only... so before entering to home... she has to fetch water from well. . Arjun already arranged this near his swimming pool... so they all goes near that well... Priya breaks coconut and drops coconut halves in the well... then she fetch the water and pours in the small four tiny pots... two pots are carried by her in the head.. remaining two pots should be carried by Arjun sister or cousin... so divya and Riya(tarun sister) took this.. they went inside the home along with Priya.. first Priya enters with right leg then follow by Riya and divya... they keep this pots in kitchen as welcoming kaveri goddess with bride... then Arjun showers Priya with rice on her head and they both exchange jasmine garland...

As they married in Kodagu style... Arjun planned Surprise to Priya to marry as in their home tradition..... so to arrange this.. he gave this charge to Nishanth, avinash and kavya... so avi and kavya can spend time together also... so only they didn't arrived at Priya home... so tomorrow morning in temple... in a simple way they are marring again as in Arjun side traditional.... so they started turmeric function... as mehandi and bangles function already done... so whole night one by one started applying turmeric to both Arjun and Priya....
