Chapter 82: Chapter 82
The sunlight radiating from outside the mall hall and it blind her momentarily.
She closed her eyes instantly, she reopened it and finally recognized the people who came in.
It was Clinton, Bryan's secretary.
Upon seeing Clinton, Sherry was more sure that she guessed right.
It was really Bryan who played the video.
But she doesn't recognize the person beside Clinton, it was a middle aged woman, she looked familiar but Sherry doesn't remember where she knew her from.
"Lady Boss" Clinton bowed at her slightly.
Sherry nodded and looked at him gratefully, she was not sure of who was beside Clinton but she trusted Bryan.
Clinton became dazed when he saw Sherry's smile, she looked so beautiful when she smiled. It was unlike how cold she was the first time they met, he understood why his Boss fell for her now, he smiled awkwardly when he saw her grateful look.
She should not look at him like that, she should be grateful to Boss not him.
Sherry didn't know what was going on in Clinton's mind, she looked at the reporters.
The hall was now silent like it was a graveyard.
Sherry turned her head and looked at Paul, she could see the panic in his eyes and he looked nervous and pale unlike how confident he was before.
Sherry was puzzled
Who is the person beside her that could make Paul nervous?.
She didn't say anything and just waited for Clinton to explain.
"This is the house owner of where you stayed when you were young," Clinton explained.
His voice was not low so the reporters could hear him loud and clear.
"That is right, I remembered now this was the woman in the video who brought some men to throw Miss Sherry 's luggage out" One of the reporters exclaimed.
The others also started remembering immediately once he said that.
Sherry also remembered the woman, she looked at the woman. The woman looked old with wrinkles on her face but one could still recognize her once they watched the video.
She was not like how she was before.
The woman looked well behaved and calm now, she was very hot tempered and arrogant when Sherry was young.
She treats people who lease houses disrespectfully with disdain, and if you don't pay up on time she would make sure everyone knows that you are owing her a house rent.
Sherry hated this woman so much when she was young.
But the woman looked like she had changed now.
"Hello Reporter's friend, I'm the owner of the house where Sherry was living before with her parents and sister, I'm Mrs Smith " The woman said.
The reporters nodded to show that they were listening.
The reporter who targeted Sherry asked a question first, "Is it true that Mr Paul left when Miss Sherry was young?" He asked.
Mrs Smith nodded honestly, "Yes he left ten years ago and he called me after leaving that he already left the house and it was only Sherry's mother, her sister and Sherry that are in the house, he also said he was not sure they can afford the rent" Mrs Smith explained.
"Do you have evidence to prove that?" The reporter asked.
Paul stood up and marched towards them aggressively, "This is bad Mrs Smith, you should not frame me. I didn't leave nor did I call you" Paul insisted.
Mrs Smith's face flushed in her anger, "Are you denying that you called me on the phone and hinted for me to send your wife and children out of the house?" She asked angrily.
She doesn't even know the reason why she was being questioned, she was paid to stand here but everything she said was real. Bryan paid her to come and present the evidence but she must say the truth which she did, but he was actually denying her words. Even though she has rented her house to a lot of people, Paul left an impression on her because her father asked her to send his wife and children out of the house because he didn't pay the house and ran away. She rented the house to people because of money so she did as she was instructed.
She was not a holy virgin Mary who would be giving out something free not to talk of house rent.
"Mrs Smith, do you have evidence?" The reporter asked.
"No but…" Mrs Smith said but Clinton interrupted him.
"I have evidence with me," He said.
Everyone's gaze fell on him, Mrs Smith also looked at him because she wasn't sure of where he got evidence. She told him everything he asked her truthfully but she didn't give him any evidence.
Clinton dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a pen. Clinton looked at the reporters and made a 'shh' sound so they would stop talking. The hall was silent instantly when he did that.
He pressed a button on the pen.
Two voices were heard on the pen.
The first voice was Paul 's voice.
The second voice was Mrs smith's voice
"'Hello Mrs Smith"
"Mr Paul, you are still owing me a house rent for a year now, my patience is limited don't…."
"I have left the house " Paul interrupted him
"What!?! With paying my money?!!" Mrs Smith yelled on the phone, her voice was agitated.
"It is only my useless wife and the children that are there, I'm sure they don't have a dime to pay you, that is what I just want to tell you " Paul said.
"Wait…"
Beep! Beep!
Mrs Smith heard the beeping sound and realized that he had hung up.
Paul's face turned pale in fright, he fell down on the floor without any support, the reporter was also speechless, "You might fabricate the evidence" He said but he doesn't sound confident like before.
Clinton smiled nonchalantly, "It seems you are sent here by someone, you can check to see if it was really fabricated, Someone should throw this reporter out of here"
The reporter started sweating, "Don't bully me, you know I'm telling the truth" He said fearfully.
A man walked towards the reporter and used a cloth to block his mouth before he could say anything again, he was carried out of the hall.
Paul knelt down and started crawling towards Sherry, "Sherry, father knew that he was wrong he should not have abandoned you, father is really sorry but father is owning a huge debt and I would be arrested if I don't pay up. Sherry please forgive father" He said and begged her.
Sherry avoided him and moved back.
Clinton motioned for a bodyguard to come, the bodyguard threw Paul out of the hall.
The reporters looked at Sherry with pity; they also blamed themselves for believing the man.
They bowed, "We are sorry Miss Sherry " They apologized.
Sherry shook her head to show that she was not mad.
It is not worth it.
She understood why people supported Paul so she is not really offended or angry.
Everything has ended now.
The reporters smiled and praised Sherry for being good tempered and beautiful.
She didn't even get angry with them after this.
They turned to leave the hall because there was nothing left that they would be doing.
As they were about to walk out of the hall, a figure walked into the hall, the hall started becoming noisy and the reporters stood without leaving.
