Chapter 115: Chapter 115

Ring! Ring!

Her phone rang.

She looked at her phone screen, it was on the table.

Her expression changed once she saw the caller.

_____

"Sis, has Wendy been arrested? Did she confess?" Nancy held Sherry, anxious.

Sherry patted her hand, "It is fine, I don't know what is going on yet but the police would come to inform us" Sherry reassured her.

Nancy nodded solemnly.

Sherry sighed, she felt a little sad.

What has happened that made her sister's relationship with her bad to this extent where she can be fooled by Wendy.

The door opened.

Sherry and Nancy raised their heads up and looked towards the door.

Nancy stood up the instant she saw that it was an officer.

"How is it? Did she confess?" Nancy asked, she didn't approach him to bug him about the answer. She knew her lane, if not because Sherry was here the police officer won't even give her a glance.

The officer stood in front of them, his eyes were on Sherry, "She denied it. She said she was not close to Miss Nancy and it has been a while since she saw Miss Nancy last because she stopped coming to your house" He repeated what Nancy said respectfully.

"Bullshit! She is a fucking liar! That bitch" Nancy cursed in anger when she heard what Wendy told the police officer.

"No I must see her, she should tell me with her own mouth that we were never close" Nancy said, angrily she strode towards the door.

"Wait" Sherry said.

Nancy stopped on her track and turned around.

She asked, "What? That bitch is trying to frame! I swear to God that I didn't know that was what she planned on doing" Nancy said.

The police officer cut in, "She will be released in the next five mins, do you still want to meet her?" He asked.

"Why will she be released in the next five mins?" Nancy glared at the police officer in anger.

The police officer sighed, "It is because there is no evidence that proves her involvement in the case, She will only be detained for twenty fours and will be released if no evidence is found. Twenty four hours is up already so she can leave" He explained patiently.

"Oh" Nancy muttered.

She turned downcast, "What should we do now?" She glanced at Sherry, who was looking at her.

Sherry sighed in exhaustion, "Come sit down first" She said.

Nancy walked back and sat down in front of Sherry reluctantly, she didn't expect that such a day when she would have to depend on Sherry would come.

"Do you have any evidence to prove that Wendy is guilty?" Sherry asked.

Nancy rested her head on her hand, and she started contemplating it. She looked at Sherry with her eyes lit up in a few minutes after thinking, "The money I sent to the truck driver was not my money. It was she who sent the money into my account and asked me to send it to the truck driver" She said with a hopeful gaze.

Sherry looked at the police officer who was still standing inside the room quietly, "Can that serve as evidence?" She asked.

The police officer nodded politely, he cleared his throat and said, "Yes"

Sherry nodded

"Wait, I will text Bryan to see if we can get the transaction record" She said.

She was already typing a message on her phone when Bryan's call came in.

Sherry picked it and put the phone on her ear.

"Hello wifey, are you still there?" Bryan asked, his voice sounding deep.

"Yes, Wendy will soon be released but Nancy doesn't have any evidence to prove that Wendy is guilty, but the money she sent to the truck driver was not hers, it was Wendy who sent it to her and asked her to send it to the truck driver, can we get that transaction record?" Sherry explained and asked.

"I have already asked my men to investigate all this. The account she used to transfer money to your sister was the account of a beggar. One of my men asked the beggar. He said he lost his phone that day but he got it the next day and was also shocked. It seems she is a very smart person and her aim was obvious, to kill you and frame your sister for it. It seems she is also Flow 's friend right?" Bryan asked.

Sherry looked disappointed and replied dully, "Yes I saw them together a lot of times " Sherry shrugged her shoulders.

"We will talk tonight, " Bryan said.

"Okay" Sherry said.

"Bye, I love you" Bryan said…

"Love you too," Sherry replied.

Sherry hung up and looked at Nancy.

"What happened? Have you asked someone to check?" Nancy asked, anxious.

"She used someone else's account to send the money to you, not her account. You should understand what she wants to achieve by doing this right?" Sherry asked, she arched an eyebrow and looked at her sister intently.

She knew that her sister was not stupid and could understand what she meant.

Nancy's face turned pale when she heard this.

Yes, her aim.

She would go to jail for her sister's death while Wendy will be unharmed.

Her face loses all color as she puts her head on the table with a desolate expression.

The door opened.

Sherry and the officer turned their heads and looked at the door to see who it was, Nancy didn't even make an attempt to move, she was just staring into space.

It was Beauty, her mom.

Sherry sighed and massaged her hand.

She knew that her mom would probably scold her.

She was the one who called her yesterday when she was at Bryan's office eating.

She didn't pick because she knew that she was probably trying to beg her to let her sister off.

She just turned off her phone and turned it on this morning on her way here.

She saw twenty missed calls from her mom when she turned on her phone.

"What happened?" Beauty asked when she saw that Nancy didn't move or look at her since she walked in.

"Nothing" Sherry answered when she saw that Nancy didn't answer, she looked at the police officer, "You can leave now, thanks a lot" She said.

"My pleasure" The officer said and nodded at Beauty before he walked out of the room.

"Will your sister be released now?" Beauty asked with an hopeful voice.

"No," Sherry answered.

So her mom won't get her hopes too high.

"Why? It was Wendy who did it, not your sister!" Beauty said angrily.

"Then where is the evidence to prove that? We need evidence to prove that" Sherry said, she felt her patience was getting to its limit the more she talked to her mom.

Beauty turned towards Nancy, she cupped her face in her hand, "Do you have any evidence? If you do quickly bring it out so you will be released" Beauty said.

Nancy shook her head as her tears threatened to fall, "N-no mom, I d-don't have evidence, she tricked me. Her aim was to frame" She said as her tears started falling unrestrained.

Beauty couldn't help but burst into tears when she saw Nancy, She wiped her tears with the back of her hand.

She wiped Nancy's tears too.

Sherry felt bad and she took her towel and wiped her tears away too.

She stood up and walked out of the room, trembling in anger.

All the grievances she had accumulated for the past ten years started rushing into her head. Everything she has been through in Nevermore high school all because of Wendy. She hasn't even vent her grievance by taking a revenge on Wendy yet but she had already sent herself into her hand.

She tried to kill her and frame her sister.

It seems Wendy thought she was still softhearted like she was in Nevermore high school, but she would show her that she is not soft hearted anymore.

She walked towards the officer.

"Mrs Tony" The officer stood up immediately he saw her.

Sherry waved her hand, "Where is the person you arrested yesterday?" She asked.

"You mean Miss Wendy? She is still inside the detained room" The officer replied.

"Take me there," Sherry said.

The officer nodded and led the way, Sherry followed him behind.

The officer stopped at a door, there was a class beside the door. You can see everything happening inside the room clearly.

Sherry could see Wendy sitting down on a wooden chair, biting her nail, that is what she usually does whenever she is nervous about anything she does.

Sherry knew her very well, her habit is still the same after so many years.

Old habits die hard.

She knows what she does whenever she is lying or telling the truth.

Sherry glanced at the police officer, "Can she see us?" She asked.

"No she can't. We can only see her, "the police officer said.

"Is there a CCTV camera installed inside the room?" Sherry asked.

"No"

"I want to teach her a lesson a little, I will try not to kill" Sherry winked at the police officer.

The police officer was speechless.

She would try not to kill her?

"Okay, I will turn off the glass so people outside won't be able to see what is going on inside, Please don't use too much brutal force, you will be detained for a few days if she reports you" The police officer gave a kind reminder.

"Got it," Sherry agreed.

The officer nodded and turned off the glass, he opened the door and allowed Sherry into the room.

He closed the door and waited outside, so he will be able to remind her again so she won't do anything bad.

He still doesn't feel reassured.

Should he tell her family?

He started walking towards where Nancy was.

He suddenly remembered that he had Bryan's number.

He immediately thought about calling Bryan instead.

He dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out his phone.

He dialed Bryan's number.

______

Nancy hugged her mom to console her, "Mom it will be fine, I will be sentenced for a few years and be released, I can do it" She said.

She was not sure if she was trying to convince her mom or herself.

She was doubting if what Wendy told her was true or not, but she was not sure, she would have to ask Sherry before she would know the answer for sure.

She was really stupid, it would have been easy if she had asked Sherry everything Wendy told her in the past. Maybe she and Sherry would still be close sisters like before but now everything changed.

She was the one who changed everything, she believed in more outsider words than her sister words.

She was eighty percent sure that Wendy was lying to her, the remaining twenty percent will be confirmed by Sherry.
